Utopia of the Seas itinerary planned?

Was Utopia of the Seas always planned for 3/4 night cruises or do you think originally it was meant for deployment elsewhere but was changed due to global circumstances?. The Wonder was built for the Asia / Chinese market but then it was changed. Was Utopia meant to be in Asia as well?
It would be very interesting if RCL used Icon 2 Star of Seas for 3/4 night cruises. The price right now for Icon of the Seas is shockingly very expensive compared to when they first opened up the sale of cabins.

Always planned for the 3/4 day market... at least from what has been publicly announced.

Utopia was neer intended for the Asian market

No cruise ship is build for use on 3/4 nights or 7 nights or longer cruises only.

Of course, but that doesn't mean RC doesn't have an itinerary/port plan in mind long before a new ship launches.

Some quite emphatically.🤣

There were still people posting "I'll believe it when I see it" within months of the release and that gaping hole in the PC 3/4 schedule beginning in July 2024 staring them in the face. 🤷‍♀️

Doesn't the Miracle do 3/4 day out of PC?  I have heard those cruises sail full. Adding Utopia to the mix is just meeting market demand.  Haven't priced it but curious if a B2B on Utopia is more than a 7 day Caribbean at current prices.

If I remember right a lot didn't think the ship would be coming to PC either.

When Utopia was first released, I made a couple of those comparisons. They were close and Utopia may have been cheaper for some off-peak times. For peak times, not so much. Specifically, for our spring break 2025, I was going to do a Utopia B2B but a week on Wonder was something like $600-700 cheaper for an interior. That's a large difference when you're spending under $2000 for 2 people and I couldn't justify paying it for a nearly identical ship as much as I'd like to see the newness and love CocoCay.

I haven't checked Utopia since then so no idea what prices are like now (other than expensive).

*NOTE: My comparisons involved TA group rates so others may have had different results shopping straight from through the RC website.

And miracle was built in a by gone day. Only a few ships older than spirit class left. That class does have the most space per pax of any carnival classes and is considered quite beautiful.

Not sure it's exactly competition for utopia. Closer to radiance OTS for instance. Days gone by. And even carnival I never see cruises under $100 a day, from Florida or PC. And I'm not taking fake pricing where someone quotes a peice then doesnt say per person based on double occupancy before taxes and fees. I deal in real prices, the total price. And not a casino rate. Only msc left at lower prices.

The Allure is coming later this month to PC to do the 3/4

Hey, she's doing a 5-nighter first!

I've heard it's going be like an inaugural and President's cruise combined... free DBP and UDP for everyone! Oh wait, that might might have been a dream I had.
