Ambassador Plus loyalty tier?

With all these double and triple points promos, reaching Ambassador before age 55 is easy. (I'm going to make it on Nov Viva cruise.)

Time to create an Ambassador Plus tier, say 1400 points (double Ambassador tier)?

  • fstuff1 changed the title to Ambassador Plus loyalty tier?

Triple point promo is over and is now very rare. i only have 2 cruises with this promo and i have yet to see this promo return

Double point promo is common as that is usually the latitude insider offer or whatever it is called now. that promo is limited to a select sailings and not every cruise

What might you anticipate in the way of additional benefits for this new tier?  What could NCL offer beyond the free cruise that Ambassador already gets?

An annual free cruise....like other lines offer *cough* RCL *cough*

Once we hit Platinum, after our November cruise, we're not going to give a flying fig about the loyalty program. It's certainly not what keeps us cruising NCL....an annual free cruise? That would keep us on NCL.

This should be a good start for every cruise :

  • 1 more free laundry bags
  • free thermal spa pass
  • 1 more free dining for 2
  • 25% on shorex
  • Free DSC

Other suggestions:
- Complementary grats for FAS
- Free room service (no fees, regardless of stateroom type)
- "line cutting" privileges for non-reservable shows (like Syd Norman's), tenders, reboarding, etc.
- Unlimited specialty dining
- Complimentary upgrade to FAS+ (every cruise or X times per year)

Since we always sail Haven/suites, there is very little incentive for us to chase anything above our current Sapphire tier with the upgrade/free cruise perk, much less a second Ambassador tier.

I'm sure this has been addressed but i can't find it .... does NCL offer you a credit if you want to upgrade your free Ambassador cruise to suite/Haven?  If you've always sailed Haven, it's disappointing that's not taken into consideration.

I would not want to stiff the staff by not paying the DSC and grats.

Let’s see…. If you are a top tier in the NCL Casinos program you get

- Free Premium WiFi

- Free DSC

- $1000 OBC

- Limo to/from ship or hotel

- $600 Shore Excursion Credit.
- 3 Bottles of wine and/or snacks

On RCL at an Ambassador equivalent you get access to the suites dining room. And suites lounge.

NCL Diamond and Ambassadors get lessons on how NCL uses leftover food (like rotten bananas) to make “sustainable drinks”.

Don't forget 6 free drinks a day, up to $14 or $15, depending on the ship. That negates the need for a beverage package for many.

This^^^^^  Upgrades/free cruise should be based on your cruise history. There needs to be an option for true upgrades.

this is like asking someone what they will do if they win the lottery (let me win 1st, then i'll think about it)

let me get to ambassador level 1st, and then i'll think about it.

btw we're at 391 points and i'm 75. hope i live long enough to actually get to think about it

It is not a matter of Stiffing anybody, we are talking about included DSC and GRATS, Like when there was promotion including DSC and Grats on FAS a few years ago.

Let me play first! But I think about it often...actually, we (mostly the husband) went a little hog wild this last quarter, spending $92 on lotto tickets. We won $6. I told him we are done! That's far more than a dollar and a dream...sorry, off topic.

Anyway! The thought of becoming Ambassador is much like the thought of winning the lottery. We will be at around 91 points (I think) after our Transatlantic next month. Not bad for two years of cruising, but we are starting to drift away. So, Ambassador, eh, I doubt we'll see that.

Forgive him.  Even I get off track when the winnings start with a "B".😁

Diamond was added last year as a stepping stone between Platinum Plus (now called Sapphire) and Ambassador.

Yes, I know that but the point spread is 350 between Diamond and Ambassador whereas there are six categories between 1 and 350.

We did that program on the Star last year and it was awful 🤮. Only one of the flight of eight was drinkable, the others were overly sweet and a sip was all I could manage.  Plus they charge much more for these sustainable drinks than normal beverages.  Just a feel good way for the crew to waste time and tons of sugar.

We have enjoyed the Mixology session as it's a fun way to meet other Diamond and Ambassador cruisers.  Usually less than ten of us and we find a lot to talk about 😉

Your analogy sounds very much like we ours.  It seems like a great concept (up front), but too much sugar made most of them just wasteful!

We were the only ones at ours!  But we had a nice time visiting with the two bartenders.  I thought mixology was going to be about making certain types of drinks, but these recycled sustainable alcohols were horrid.

Yes, not our favorite  drinks either.  But we did enjoy spending time with great bartenders and some fun fellow passengers.   Maybe we will have a nice chat with you  at a future mixology session☺️
