Sky Junior Suites coming soon

Ah, I see that now.  When I booked Icon I wasn't looking at suites so it never occurred to me and somehow I missed the discussion here on CC when that happened.  I'm assuming there was a discussion anyways.

I just did the same thing and it was a $600 difference.

I recall the JY,s being a hot topic when dates were released for Icon.

It was probably blended in with the initial crazy booking frenzy the morning they were released

We got the last one for our sailing at 4am

Two more bottles of water on the desk.

Sky link wifi

Priority embark and disembark

Suite area on embarkation day

CK (without having to plead)

Suite lounge 11-11 beer and wine

Suite deck

Etc etc

and maybe two bottles of water 💦

Cost up price for two internet packages and two drinks packages

That should be a good baseline for cost difference and whether it is worth it 😉

The sky suite has suite perks. So you get in the suite lounge, which is why they are talking above about overcrowding, great way to solve it. Add more JS with full suite perks.

This exactly...thanks.   ^

In order to cruise more frequently we’ve changed from grand suites to junior suites.  But on Oasis class I do miss having Coastal Kitchen for breakfast and lunch.  So I was looking (out of curiosity) at Icon.  I believe I picked summer of 2025.  A regular JS was about $5200 per person and the sky was about $8000.  So, a difference of $5600 for the 2 of us.  Even if the other ships are half that, it’s not worth it.  We get 5 drink vouchers each every day and rarely use them all.  We share internet so get 4 days free, and usually buy 1 or 2 days.  Breakfast in CK is nice but if we cruise more we’ll be pinnacle soon.  I’ll look at the cost difference when the new cruises are announced, but I don’t think we’ll upgrade.

Just a way for Royal now to charge a premium price for these and the balconies

Of course, just read up on all the changes - I don't tend to pick the big ships so I have to aim higher than JS since I've now tasted the suite life lol!

It's going to be like some Abbott and Costello bit

1: I'd like to book a junior suite

2: ok great. Remember those don't get suite perks

1: But I just read about Sky Jr Suites

2: Oh yes, that's only Icon, Oasis and Quantum ships

1: OK I'd like to book a jr suite on one of those ships

2: That's great. Remember not all junior suites on those ships get suite perks

1: But you just said....

2: Yes, only the Sky Junior Suites on those ships, not Sea Junior suites

Darn, this just went from a definite yes to a hard no for me.  Quantum deck 13 right under the pool deck & Johnny Rockets and Oasis deck 6 right over the lifeboats.  It's basically the JS's that probably sold last up to now, with maybe lower prices to get them sold.  Now, they will sell at a premium.  It's a pretty genius move, actually, I have to give them that.

what does this mean?

Prior to this there was limited guarantee staterooms available for triple and quad occupancy rooms, they are opening it up more so that there will be the same availability of booking a guarantee as there is for double occupancy staterooms

I agree with deck 13 on QN class but deck 6 on Oasis class is awesome

SL on Quantum class does not offer any complimentary drinks 11-11 and no bar on Suite Sun Deck

That’s pretty rubbish

Now I know why I have never been on a Quantum class ship 😉

Makes sense to no one.

You would think if they are realigning all these categories they'd take a moment and align sky class perks across the limited ships that have sky class.  Guess not.
