Pool Towels

Just heard a rumor that you'll need to present your Seapass Card in order to get a towel and if not returned a$25 fee, just like on Royal.  Can anyone confirm?

Was not the case this month on Solstice

Not on our cruise. However, if you do not return the yellow beach towel placed in your room by your stateroom attendant, you would be charged for the towel.

I have suggested to Celebrity that they monitor social media like this so that they could give an official response to rumors. This was not the policy on Equinox about 3 weeks ago. I was never asked about taking pool towels or told  that I would be charged if I failed to return them them.

I have never seen a yellow towel in all our Celebrity cruises.

 

We generally take the pool towels back to our room to avoid dripping in the halls, and the room steward takes care of them.

The yellow-ish towels are delivered by the steward the evening before a port stop with beach activities. They are to be taken off the ship for those activities and returned to the cabin, where the steward will collect them and deliver a new set for the next port.
