Lost medication

I had my first Royal Caribbean cruise I accidentally left 2 prescription bottles in cabin safe I filled report been 8 days still not found I assume room stewards always check safe anyone else have this issue

Doubtful you'll get these returned. Have your health care provider replace your prescriptions.

I agree.  Unfortunately I would consider those prescriptions gone.  Hopefully your insurance will allow you to replace the meds.

As said assume that just gets thrown away, best just plan on getting refill from Doctor

A lot of items are thrown out.  Room stewards don't necessarily check safes.  But, cruisers should.

It's very possible that the new cabin occupants simply threw out the meds. Unlike a piece of jewelry or something else of value, I doubt that they would expect anyone leaving them behind did so in error.

While they are probably gone, lost and found is very slow. First off, the items won't be sent to the office until after the cruise that departed when you got off comes back. Then it takes time to link everything up.

I wouldn't even waste your time trying to reclaim medication. It wouldn't surprise me if they have to throw that away anyway.

I agree with the above posters -- your meds are gone.  

 

Consider too that if you go them back, they'd have gone through several other people's hands -- would you really want to put into your body something that strangers have had under their control? 

 

Call me paranoid, but I'd feel safer just having them replaced.  Once my grandmother threw away her brand-new medicine (still in the bag), and I had no trouble replacing it for her -- the pharmacy was quick to work with me.

Check phone records to the ship's medical ward starting 4 hours after you left the ship

Assuming you left them in a locked safe, the cabins steward can not open it.  They need to call security, and they'll collect your stuff and take it to guest services.

 

A related story.  On a recent cruise my nephew forgot his insulin.  It was in the fridge.  It got sent to guest services.  I was on a B2B, so I went down a couple days later to try to collect it.  What a pain.  He was never contacted and had I not been there it would have been lost.

And it appears you're blaming the cruise line? It was your nephew's fault.

It may appear so, but I am not.  It was his fault, and he was lucky I was onboard to retrieve it.
