alibaba1 Posted January 18 #1 Share Posted January 18 Have you seen this? I think there are 17 days left to vote for your favorite ocean cruise line. There is also a tally - guess who's first? - Carnival. https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/travel/best-ocean-cruise-line-2024/ 1
shepherd really Posted January 18 #2 Share Posted January 18 Of course, Carnival is first, I suspect if it was a restaurant survey McDonalds would outperform the French Laundry. 4

Rare ORV Posted January 20 #4 Share Posted January 20 Don’t know if it still is but a few years ago Waffle House was the # 1 restaurant in Gulf Shores AL on Trip Advisor. 🤡 1
alibaba1 Posted January 21 Author #5 Share Posted January 21 Oceania climbed one notch - from 12th to 11th. Yeah!

Redtravel Posted January 21 #7 Share Posted January 21 Those surveys are ridiculous. Bigger ships get more votes. My favorite is Windstar.

They had a Michelin 1 star restaurant in town that was always booked up, and that people drove out to the burb to visit. So what was the #1 rated restaurant there in some faux poll? Cheddars! Rare Hlitner Posted January 21 #10 Share Posted January 21 The best food, by far, we have ever had on any ship or line (we have cruised on 17 lines) is on Explora Journey 1. At the moment that line has one ship (900 passenger) and has been operating for less than a year. No way they would win any popularity contest :). Our best overall cruise line would be Seabourn. Oh she-gawd no! I've only been in Chicago when changing planes and it's on my bucket list...for great food. Not for Cheddars!
Myrtle Ave. Mayhem Posted January 22 #12 Share Posted January 22 (edited) I've been cruising 35 years & have experienced the changes for better & worse in the cruise travel industry. Of any lines currently sailing, the hands down winner is Viking Ocean! Reasons being - ship design, dining, service, onboard atmosphere, fine tuned attention to detail. Of former lines, it's a tie between Sitmar & Royal Viking Line. Edited January 22 by Myrtle Ave. Mayhem
