Unfortunately my CCL creditcard limit is only $10,000 (ie: why I couldn’t lose any more)

Not trying to encourage more spend than makes you comfortable, but could you game this by paying your credit card balance off daily?

Look what showed up..so it’s obvious that the last day DOESN’T count in the casino.

We usually have $8,000  - 10,000 points each on most cruises and we can get free balconies and between $400 and $600 in free play. I think $5,000 might get you a 30% discount but I doubt free cabins and free play

To make that a decent play; I’d need $50,000 limit on my credit card (10,000 points on 4% edge video poker would be $50,000 coin-in with an expected loss of $2,000 with $1,500 cashback…

i wish it was for sure…because I did 10,000 on our 12-day British isle cruise and got NO come-back-soon offer, at all.

we do between 3000 to 4000 points each - we both get offers of free inside and $250 free play

we have only one cruise booked for the future in 2025.  We have taken all the cruises out of Los Angeles, so going on another one for the 3rd or 4th time is not what we want to do for now.

We use to get a free Balcony and $400 free play for the same amount of points, but times have changed.

Part of it I believe is history.  My wife and I used to get the same offers. I was out of commission due to Covid on a cruise a year ago and now her offers are better than mine.

Thank you for your open and honest info on your gambling.  most people won't share the "real" money amounts.

Hope you book a great cruise with this offer and have winning luck on the next cruise.

That is a good thought..but I don’t think it works that way; because they don’t charge the CC on file until the TOTAL

bill at the end.
and I don’t think you could “pay down” your bill using a CC, daily. (And on the backend side of that, CC’s work extremely slow so even if I could pay it per day; it wouldn’t POST for like 3 days..and don’t forget about holidays and weekends)

I do like your thinking though…

and spend isn’t important; it’s whether I maximized the value. (I know I fouled up on extracting value this cruise..but at least I got lucky with that offer)

I think it’s much more than that..demographic also plays a huge part in it. I am 100% not princess’s target demographic…although I’m getting up there in age, to finally match my hobbies.

4000 points to get $250 freeplay I don’t think is too bad..that $20,000 coin-in at 4% HE (expected loss of $800) with a  CC cashback of $600; that’s actually a good play, for very little risk.

Thank you; I appreciate the kind words.

the next stage of my life will probably get pretty rocky, so it’s nice to go out and full blown degen gamble and drink; before the bad times come. (I mean hopefully they don’t; but it’s not looking that way)

The PES lounge is pretty spartan tonight..but oddly crowded..

only had some pretty weak potstickers and instead of the shrimp ceviche they have chicken salad (which no one is getting, lol)

im trying the cherry blossom garden cocktail this time.

after this I’m going to go to ocean terrace for a small sushi bite; before catch at 7:30

a lot of people take finances personally; the way I look at it..I’m not here to give false pretenses to anyone, nor say “ohh look I got a free suite and I barely gambled!”

i keep it real.

I’ve been handling mediations as a divorce attorney for almost 20 years and will say ANYTHING can happen (it does) and EVERYTHING can turn out just right. Very best to you.

I am not sure about which demographic you are referring to. We are in our early 70’s but have been getting discounts and free cabins for years. We do not play big money in slots we play between $1.76 and $3.00 per spin depending on the game.

Offer also have to do with other players on the cruise. If a bunch of people have 50k+ points offers will be worse for everyone else. On the other hand if no one has that many everyone's offers will be a bit better. Personally I am able to make 500-1000$ last at the craps table all week. Get a cbs offer for typically 250 in free play but the email offers can get me cruise offers for dirt cheap interiors for less than the port fees and taxes. And plenty of offers that make cruise a few hundred cheaper than whatever the list price is.

I feel REALLY bad for the two kids next to me..they have the “Premier” package and they think it means unlimited food at the sushi bar..so they’re literally ordering everything off the menu..what they don’t realize is its unlimited PREFIX menu’s….at least I would BET that’s what it means; otherwise it’d be EASY to make up that $20 a day difference..

Exactly..I JUST turned 40, and have been cruising for 6 years…let’s put you starting cruising at 50..I’ve got ten more years before I start getting to be the demographic that princess markets towards..

Is it smart on their part to not use the data to their advantage? No..but you can only do so much if your C-suite is making all the money and no one else is.
