Are they doing this with the fancy nylon bags used for Haven too 😁 curious, asking for friends 🫢

Looks like they washed it in hot water…

1,000 cabins, 50% use rate, $5/cabin ==> $2,500 more revenue per cruise.

20 ships

40 cruises per ship per year

.

Now we are at $2M additional revenue per year.

42 million shares of stock.

5 cents per share.

For those of us that own 100 shares, you earn $5 back per year!

50% use rate

that would be an extraordinary take rate for any marketing effort.

you believe 50% of those on any given ship are purchasing midweek special laundry services? i'd be surprised if more than 15% of guests paid for laundry to be done throughout the entire cruise. my spidey sense tells me it's probably far less than 10% of the ship.

50% is a bit high. 15% is likely too low. The only time we've not done the fill-a-bag was a 5-day.

Perhaps.  I always used it until our Latitudes status got us free laundry.  Change the percentage, change the revenue.

if you get more than a 2% response from a direct marketing effort to targeted consumers, you've done extraordinarily well.

less than 1% response rate is more the norm.

Heading on a16 day Escape next month with just roller board and side bag. It'll be 1st time for me having ship do some laundry.

My last cruise (my 5th on NCL) was my first time having laundry done

I didn't either, until my 15-day.  Now I'm Platinum and get a free bag, I'm sending it out on more cruises (I only go once a year, but still)  and packing lighter!!!

We did send out for laundry on our last cruise. First time. It was an 11 day cruise, plus we had spent a couple days in transit. Given we pack in one carry on and one day bag, laundry was necessary. We were Gold at the time, so 50% discount on the price. Now, we're Platinum, so no payment if we do laundry, which we probably won't unless it's a longer cruise (longer to me is 10+ days) with travel days. It's just not necessary, otherwise.

Unless you have one favorite shirt you wear, a lot. 😄

On the Sky now. $34 for laundry special. But the new bag is much bigger than the bag when it was $30. You can look at the Daily for relative size comparison. The bag is also made stronger, not very thin paper anymore.

I guess we pack differently, cause I disagree. 😂

I wear like 4 shirts over and over and 2 pairs of shorts - one for the spa, one for everything else. So yep, we probably do pack differently haha! I'm a cruise dirt bag (it's a term of endearment in the outdoor industry, especially rock climbing). The dirt bag part, don't think they'd consider a cruiser one of them although those interior rooms I've peered into look to be smaller than a camper van.

What is the surcharge to have it back next day, as opposed to 48 hours?
