ISABELLA Posted March 28 #1 Share Posted March 28 Not sure if this topic has been discussed. Can someone please tell what shows are now playing on board of Sun Princess and in what venue. Also, if any of them require advanced reservation or just to show up. Thanks
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted March 28 #2 Share Posted March 28 The big production shows are not ready yet but the word is "soon". Not sure what "soon" is. There are some other smaller shows starting to happen. I'll let you know in TEN days!! 🙂 1

Enjoy your trip and looking forward to seeing some feedback on your experience. Sun Princess is on my agenda for next year.
MTNest93 Posted March 28 #4 Share Posted March 28 There are no reservations for production shows.
reedprincess Posted March 28 #5 Share Posted March 28 Princess does not have or take reservations for shows, whether production shows or game shows or guest entertainers. First come first serve. Some seating is reserved for Premier Cruise Package purchasers - which is released approximately 10 minutes prior to show time for anyone - this is for production shows only . Currently, production shows are not happening on Sun, nor are the Cirque shows They're coming "soon" with some reports saying early April, Cirque performers have been practicing in The Dome this past sailing - so, that's implies sooner rather than later.. Production shows and guest entertainers in Arena. Cirque shows and guest entertainers in Dome Game shows, comedians, guest entertainers in Princess Live. Music, dancers, guest entertainers in Atrium Musicians in O'Malleys. Pianist in Crooners. Lots going on around the ship (all of it happening currently except production shows and Cirque). ISABELLA Posted March 28 Author #6 Share Posted March 28 Thank you for an update. We hope some production show will take place for our sailing in mid May. But it seems that there is some entertainment around the ship.

edub Posted June 14 #8 Share Posted June 14 Bumping this thread. We are leaving in two weeks and there's no information about entertainment available on the app yet. Would love to know if we can expect to see Cirque shows and any positive updates on the opening of the ropes course area... not holding my breath! reedprincess Posted June 14 #9 Share Posted June 14 (edited) There are 3 out of the 4 production shows operating per sailing. All 3 Cirque shows in the Dome are up and running. deltaqueenie Posted October 14 #12 Share Posted October 14 Tina & Ken, I think we ziplined with you guys in Costa Rica? Carey and I just got off the Sun, and these were the shows. I ✅ the ones I saw. I thought those were very good- Fiera my favorite. I also saw “BLUE” a Cirque Show in the Dome. We sailed the Transatlantic + 2 extra nights because we couldn’t port due to Hurricane Milton. IMO the entertainment was great. We also saw 2 Tribute Artists: Celine Dion and Elton John. However, the comedian was not good. We also loved Sirens Call group in O’Malley’s. It is true: You must be in the theater 45-60mins before shows start to get a seat- even for the late show. Sometimes the shows were repeated at 1:00pm the next day. Hope you have a great cruise! Retired-N-Happy Posted October 14 #13 Share Posted October 14 Whoever came up with having a matinee at 100pm should have his or her head examined. You'll need to show up at least by 1230 to get a seat and you'll be done around 200. So, that eliminates having lunch in the MDR if it's a sea day and you'll have to wait to have lunch in Gigi's around 200 as well. A matinee should be at 230 or 300. It gives you time to enjoy your lunch at a venue of your choice.

A snack afterwards should suffice until dinner time.

It was the best zip we have ever done no matter what country or state we zipped. Kids and grandkids followed the Sun from the first nut and bolt to when it left out on Friday so no getting out of cruising on the Sun. Hope all your coming cruises are great.

Sox Fan Cruiser Posted October 14 #19 Share Posted October 14 Do people really sit there for 45-60 minutes for a 45 minute show?! I showed up 30 minutes before the dome show and there was a huge line. Nope! Not worth my time. I don't like the shows on cruise ships anyway. But I do love that cruising has something for everyone. I just don't understand waiting that long.

I just don't understand waiting that long. That's what is great about cruising nowadays compared to how it was back in the day. Back then there were two dinner seatings in the MDR and two shows. Your only choices post dinner was to go to the show, go to the casino or go to a bar and pay for a single drink. Luckily things have evolved over the years and there are many more choices in the larger ships these days. The one hour wait on Princess is nothing. On NCL a handful of their ships have Syd Norman's Poorhouse, which is a live music venue that has usually 4 different shows over the course of a week including the entire Fleetwood Mac Rumours album. The early show is at 800, doors open at 730, people are in line starting at 600 and if you're not in line before 700, you won't get in because of the limited capacity. john watson Posted October 14 #21 Share Posted October 14 (edited) One important point to note is, when the theatre is configured in the 360 degree set up there are a couple of banks of seats which do dot go as high at the back and the front area is very close to the performance. A downside is that if you sit in these seats you cannot leave during the performance for any reason as you will be walking across the stage and performers shoot out either side of you and disruption of the show would occur!. rmsmith Posted October 15 #22 Share Posted October 15 We only went to the late show, never got to the Arena more than 20 minutes early and had no trouble getting as seat for the production shows (granted we only saw two production shows). Sure, the seats were not the most prime, but we had seats and didn't wait forever. And a few of the non-production shows we showed up for 5-10 minutes before showtime and had no issue. But I can also confirm, we saw people lining up an hour early for some of the shows too. Yeah, I'm one of those who finds that crazy, but I also think it's crazy to wait an hour for a seat in a restaurant and people do that all the time (general statement there, not cruise related)

Sudoku Posted October 15 #24 Share Posted October 15 It was a brand new show, however, the dancers on our cruise were the only ones to ever learn it. They have left the Sun and the show Vallora is no longer learned by performers. Corrine, our Cruise Director, confirmed this.
