Change for the butter

Recommended Posts

Was on Discovery a few weeks ago and the MDR was still using those softened white pellets of unsalted butter that helped me curb my appetite for dinner rolls.

Back on Discovery and bad news for my diet- the MDR is serving good ol’ squares of salted butter again. Hope this revert sticks and is good news anyone else who didn’t like “the other stuff”.

Apparently you can ask for real butter if you want it

Unsalted butter is real butter in fact it is the only kind we use at home. Especially on a cruise we try to limit our salt intake

Or just skip the topic when you see it.  The topic may not interest you but it might interest others.

Getting in before the lock...

Can you clarify (see what I did there?).  Are you trumpeting the fact that the ship changed from unsalted butter to salted butter (booooo!!); or are you heralding the fact that the ship changed from some form of chemical reaction substitute spread to salted butter (better, but not perfect).  Your first sentence uses the term "unsalted butter" but does so in the context of "white pellets".  Did you really mean "butter", or did you mean artificial "spread"?

Burning Question: How much should I tip if I ask for salted butter??? 🙄

$2.00  $3.00 if the server walks it out to you in a smoking area.

I read this thread just to see whether "butter" was a typo.

I misread it at first as "charge for the butter" thinking it was an April fools thing. 🤪

It's easier for some people to complain about the subject.

Or maybe it's only to boast they count so they can look important.

Yes, it's hard typing on my phone lately. I should stick to my pc. 😄

Me too. I clicked it to find out if it was supposed to be butler or better.
