Greetings from beautiful Port Charlotte.
76 right now heading up to a sunny 88 this afternoon.

At one time I loved Hostess Cupcakes but it’s probably been over 30 years since I had them, Twinkies were great too, in fact I liked them better than the cupcakes. Hamsters are cute.

Funny quote but some might not find it that funny.
I love Turkey and could probably eat it everyday but I’m not sure I’d like it ground up.

We’re sailing on the Enchanted Princess tomorrow but have nothing booked until December on the Equinox, looking at early August before peak hurricane season, probably going to book MSC Seaside out of Port Canaveral or maybe Enchantment of the Seas out of Tampa.

Have a great day and stay well.

I hope you have an amazing time on your cruise tomorrow.

Good morning everyone.   Thanks for the Daily Reports and the Cares and Celebrations reports.  @marshhawk I hope all goes well at the oral surgeon.  Prayers for all who need them and those in War zones.  Happy Birthday to your DS @Denise T🎂

It appears our plant sale tomorrow will be windy and chilly with the rain gone before we open.

I am sending all Bon Voyages one day early as I will be selling plants at this time tomorrow.   Have a nice Friday.  Nancy

Good morning everyone.  It’s cool and overcast and will remain so all day.

We’ll be heading to the Harvard-Radcliff pottery sale today.  Our friend Pamela teaches there and we like to support their work.

Happy Dia de la Madre to all Mexican mothers.  Hopefully my card and flowers arrive at my mother’s house arrive by tomorrow.  I wish I could be there to take her to church on Sunday but two of my sisters will have that honor.  I salute Hostess cupcakes and hamsters although I never had a hamster and I rarely have a Hostess cupcake.

I’ll pass on the meal but say yes to the cocktail, it sounds different and tasty.

I was at today’s port eleven years ago and will be there in a few weeks.  Last time we rented a car and drove up the Cabot Trail which was a stunning drive as it was a clear day.  This time we’re renting a car and will visit Baddeck and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.

Prayers for those on our prayer list, hoping @marshhawk’s procedure goes smoothly.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today!

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  Wishing all Mexican mothers a lovely Dia De La Madre, I've never had a Hostess Cupcake - my mother was a baker extraordinaire, so didn't need to.  We've never had hamsters, as I've never cared to have rodents in the house, tame or otherwise.  Although, thinking about it, they'd be easy to take on an airplane as an emotional support animal.  LOL

It's a beautiful, sunny day out there already this morning and as I suspected yesterday, the buds are starting to open on the poplar trees behind us.  Soon we won't be able to see the neighbour's house at all, as the trees and our Virginia Creeper vines on the fence make our yard so secluded during the summer.  I'm not sure how far south this will go, but there's supposed to be a "severe geomagnetic storm" today which is expected to produce some amazing Northern lights tonight.  DH and I are planning on heading out of the city late in the evening and will situate ourselves so that we can enjoy whatever Mother Nature has to offer.  Hopefully the clouds will stay away so we can see them.   Here's what I found on the Weather Network:
Auroras Geomagnetic Storm Kp Index

@marshhawkI hope all goes well for you at the oral surgeon today; I'm so happy to hear you got an even better sale after your lengthy phone call with the gentleman.

@Denise Twishing your sister a very Happy Birthday!

@StLouisCruiserssafe travels as you make your way to FLL today.

@RMLincolnI hope Richard's eye pressures continue to be stable with the extra massages, drops, etc.

Not a lot on the agenda today - DH has to lay low, as he really overdid it yesterday.  He wanted to make some order in his garage, and of course, didn't know when he should quit until I came out and read the riot act to him.  I'll be keeping watch on him to be sure he's not doing much - hopefully will work on his book, etc. which is mental work, not physical.  I've got 8 more sets of coasters to iron and topstitch before putting the sewing machine away for a while again, so that'll keep me busy.  The living room looks strange because DH's electric recliner is missing - the buttons stopped working, so I called the store and they came yesterday to take it to repair.  It's strange because it's 2 years newer than mine (same style), yet his stopped working and mine's fine.  The store said they'd have it back by Saturday, which is great service as far as I'm concerned!

I'm sure I'd like the drink (I've copied out the recipe for the TA taste testing), will let others have the wine, and am not sure about the recipe.  Does anyone remember the delicious ground turkey burger that Planet Hollywood used to serve?  I remember the flavour was delicious from the first bite to the last.  Checking their online menu, it looks like they don't serve it any longer; too bad, it was yummy.  It's Friday night, pizza night here, so late this afternoon I'll head out to a little shop not far away and pick up something cheesy and delicious to have at the kitchen table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, in pain, in grief, in wars, and in the paths of destructive storms.  Cheers to all with celebrations happening today.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Good morning all!

Our sunshine will last another several days, even up towards 80 today and tomorrow.  I probably overdid yesterday and am aching all over today.  Mowed and put down weed and feed, then emptied and refilled pots and planted my herbs (basil, lemon thyme and rosemary).  Moving the heavier pots around probably did it.

Happy Mothers Day to all Mexican Mothers.  For our Mothers Day we'll be going to dinner on Sunday with all our kids grown and small.

I loved Hostess cupcakes but haven't had any in decades.  I never cared for Twinkies (not chocolate).

Our DD had a hamster -- at one time or another she also had a turtle, a large goldfish, and a rabbit (not all at the same time).  She did (and does) love all critters.  Right now she has 2 cats and an aquarium of frogs. She also feeds the squirrels that come in their back yard.  😉 We used to call her Ellie Mae Clampett.  To be honest, I was relieved when that hamster reached the end of his life.  He always found ways to escape, and we found his whole nest behind the couch one time.  It's really a wonder our cat hadn't found it.

I'll pass on the drink and meal, but probably would like the Chardonnay.  We've been to Sydney many times and always enjoyed that port.

Last night we had the quiche, and it was a big hit.  I hadn't made any in a long time, and it really was tasty.  Homemade crust, bacon, sauteed spinach, onions, lots of mozzarella and parmesan.

This afternoon we'll be picking up the Grandsons and spending the afternoon with them.  The oldest is returning at noon from 2 nights at 5th grade camp (seems to be something the schools are doing now to celebrate nearing the end of the year and grade school before heading to middle school) and the 3rd grader will get out of school at 3:30.  We plan to take the 5th grader out to lunch too.  Should be a fun day. 🙂

I've been to Sydney 4 times, 3 of them with @richwmnand other CC friends.  Twice northbound from FL and once southbound, then again on the Voyage of the Vikings.

The first visit in 2012 we took a tour to the Fortress of Louisbourg, 2nd visit in 2016 a tour to Baddeck, 3rd visit in 2017 we rented a car with CC friends and Rich and drove part of the Cabot Trail.  Our last visit on the VOV we walked around town in the rain.  All good visits!

Good morning to all. Cloudy here and one of those it might rain, it might not rain type of days. Evidently the shoulder injury reported by Margaret to one of the girls was not serious as they came by awhile ago to pick up the few items from my condo and are on their way back to California via Flagstaff. It has been a hectic time, but I am now free of the responsibility for the two condos.   Glad it is over. Since Margaret is an only child, the probate should be fairly easy although it involves property in two states which may drag it out. Right now the plan is to hold on to both units in this complex since she has good renters. Now I can concentrate on my own place both in terms of downsizing and doing some needed renovation.

Good morning Dailyites, Happy Dia de la Madre!   In preparation for Sunday...  We will be having the family here on Saturday, ordering dinner from Meet - a new vegetarian restaurant.   I plan on having the mushroom calamari.  DD returns today from Vancouver, and I hope she will figure out where we should go to see the aurora.  We're having beautiful weather, and the Eurodam will be in town tonight.  It's too bad the ships only stay about 3 hours now.  My third row of radishes has sprouted, you could almost watch them sticking their little heads out of the earth.  It's supposed to go up to 24 today.  A heat wave!  No beans yet.

Annie needs to write a book about her adventures in sales!  Just amazing, plus caring for her DH and all those cats!  I hope Jacqui is improving over the weekend, and all with health problems recover quickly.

We visited Sydney, NS in October of 2017 on the old Rotterdam.  We took a walking tour of the town and my pictures are like those already on the Daily.  I'll just add a couple.

An interesting monument, I'm not sure what of - a rescue?

Big day in history & interesting collection of days. I'm with @LambKnuckles saying "yes, please" to Nutty Buddies instead of Hostess cupcakes, but wouldn't turn one down if offered.

Would try the wine and meal but pick around the peas (why does turkey taste different when it's ground?); pass on the drink; have had the pleasure of visiting Sydney a few times, most recently Oct '22 (w/DH) & Sept '23 (w/sis). Enjoying all the pictures.

Happy Birthday @Denise T to your sister Karen.

Prayers 🙏 for a successful visit at the oral surgeon today @marshhawk & congrats on the sale.

🤞@ger_77 that Mother Nature gifts you a beautiful show tonight.

@RMLincoln I'm pretty sure you meant most of this and googly incorrect was at play for part of it😉

I NEVER wanted a rodent, but did end up w/one - a teddy bear hamster that liked to drink tea. Ex would put tea in a saucer & TBH would roll it's little plastic sphere onto the saucer and drink the tea after which I would have to brush out the tangles (they have a lot of hair). Ugh🙄

Sept 20 '23 was our most recent visit to Sydney. We enjoyed a drive of the Cabot Trail w/this company; they were great and the driver was wonderful.

Good morning, barely.  It is now 76F, sunny and windy.  After down sizing a few files, it's about time to tackle the bushes.  It is also sunny, so DH has a telescope out to check the sun activity today.

I have enjoyed seeing all the pictures from Sydney.  @Vict0riann  Ann, this is a monument to all the merchant marines who lost their lives in time of war.

I did not know that Mexico and some of the Central American countries celebrated Mother's Day on May 10th. The meal of the day sounds good, the drink intriguing and I would love the wine.

We never had a hamster or any pet with fur or feathers as DH had severe asthma. We did had turtles, goldfish and desert iguanas.

My late DH and I had several cruises with Sydney as a port. I am loving all the photos. We did many wonderful excursions including the Cabot Trail to Cape Breton where we had lunch at the Inn.  Anne Murray was in residence and sang a couple of her favorite songs for us. The one excursion we never did was the Louisbourg Fortress. If I am fortunate enough to do another Canadian cruse I will rent a  Scootaround.

Prayers for all who need them and thank you God for all who do not.

Jane

Good Afternoon, thanks for today’s report.  Just a quick break from work.  Sydney is one of my favorite stops on our Canada New England itineraries.

It's a very busy couple of work days.  Several of the hospitals I support are in the most recent cyber attack.  Another meeting in a short while.  Just another chance to remind everyone to be very careful about clicking on links in an email.

Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, Debbie, and Dixie.  .Every day should be Mothers Day but I’ll pass on the other 2 days.

The quote is amusing.

I visited Sydney at least twice, Regent Sun in 1994 and Veendam in 2013.

A my brother was in the submarine service but he was just a college freshman when Triton made history..

The meal is interesting.  My alternative is Bahamian Spiced Chicken with Yogurt-Cilantro Sauce and Wild Berry Profiteroles , my embarkation lunch on Nieuw Statendam April 21, 2019:.

lunch21.jpg

Spent a long time this morning getting new tires, I’m hunkered inside now on a cold, nasty day...

I have eaten Hostess Cupcakes, but probably not in the past 60 years.

Absolutely no comment on the quotation.

I probably have ground turkey about once a month, not because I especially like it, but because it's the only kosher meat that is always available here. Pass on the drink. Almost all Chardonnay is described as buttery, whether it is or not. I might go with the 2021 from Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars, $16.99

The Hartford semester is over, but I'm still working on the Leuven course (asynchronous). The progress meter says that I've completed 82% of the course but already have enough points to pass, if I want to download the certificate right away. The certificate is not any value, to be clear.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the FR/Daily @kazu and maps @rafinmd.

I'll remember my late DM on our Mother's Day; sadly she's been gone 31 years. I used to enjoy Hostess cupcakes in my packed lunches for camp. Hampsters are ok, but I never had one as a pet. That quote is "fighting words" as they used to say. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I will be going to Sydney for the first time on my upcoming fall cruise, so the photos will help me see what's there to see. Although due to our health issues, BFF and I may not tour around that much.

It's cloudy and sprinkling rain times, and cooler (50's). I had/have some type of GI upset, that started yesterday. I didn't eat anything unusual, so I'm not sure of the cause. I am being cautious about what I eat today. I just woke up from an almost 3 hour nap, even though I slept about 6 hours last night. I plan to continue to just chill today.

@marshhawk I hope all went well at the oral surgeon's office. Congrats on the sale, although it sounds like your computer system needs an overhaul to make things accurate and easier.

@RMLincoln Nice Sydney photos.

@Denise T Happy Birthday to Karen! Thanks for the Sydney photos.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos.

@ger_77 I heard about the Northern Lights being visible far into NA, but it's supposed to be cloudy here. I hope DH takes it easy today.

@Cruising-along Enjoy the grandkids today. Thanks for the Sydney photos.

@durangoscots Yay, on being free of the responsibility for the two condos!

@Vict0riann @Haljo1935 thanks for the photos.

@StLouisCruisers I hope the drive went well.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.
