How many teens will likely be on Island Princess 6/24/25?

We've never cruised with Princess before. We have 4 teens who only want to come on vacation if there will be other teens on board. Lol. I know typically PC aren't so popular as RC or Carnival for families, but what do you think the chances are that other teens will be present on a late June sailing to Canada, please? ( Just guesses, obviously)

Very difficult to tell. This is the first time Princess is offering these itineraries from New York. My guess, not too many youth. There are no rock walls, surf pools, etc.

Not as many kids as other lines but when school is out there will be more than you find at other times

Thanks. Yeah we're hoping some kids come along with grandparents or whole family groups. Our kids were hoping for the Caribbean and a boat with amenities so if they are the only kids it's going to be a long 10 days, lol

I'm taking two of my grandsons on the Majestic Princess to Alaska in September. I hope for their sake that there are other young adults aboard. At least enough for a basketball game on sea days and maybe some friendly gals. 😉 They are 18 and 24 years old.

We are sailing 6/15 on Enchanted with grandkids 8 and 11.  The roll call indicates there will be other kids in that age bracket.  I think your kids will find enough others their age to make it worthwhile.  Hopefully you will plan some excursions as well.  My kids always enjoyed leaving the ship when we docked, despite making friends in the kids programs.

Kids: We don’t want to go unless there will be lots of other teens on board. 
Parents: OK. Since there’s no guarantee we’re sending grandma to watch you guys while we go alone. Try not to get in too much trouble. And did we mention that with the money we are saving not bringing you we’ve upgraded to a super nice suite!

Is there any possibility that the four of your teens would be fine hanging out together ? Are they all siblings? Are they cousins etc. ?

Since this is summertime, I’m sure that there will be some teens onboard? I think it’s difficult to say at this point in time and would your decision change on itinerary or cruise line if there was none onboard or very few?

It is possible to go onto your roll call or start a roll call and ask if others that are booked on your voyage if they have teens or is it even possible to call Princess before your final payment is due and see how many teens are booked? I don’t know if they give that information out or not on any cruise line?

Oh they will all survive just fine if it's the 4 of them, but we will get less.... feedback if there are other teens, lol. They are all grateful for the vacation, but some of them were sold the big RC all singing all dancing dream so now they feel like we got option B. They will feel less aggrieved if there are enough other kids to chat and do activities with. We went on another trip where there weren't many kids so they merged all the age levels of kids club and that apparently was insufferable. They will all have a good time regardless and are excited by the ports of call.

We really wanted to go north (I can't deal with the heat) and at the start of summer, so our options were super limited. Still hoping to skip a couple of days of school and take a run down to Coco Cay on a bigger ship at some point too, just not in high season.

This will make me sound very old but I do not remember being asked for vacation input when I was a teen. We were just thankful to have a vacation

Op says teens are grateful for the vacation .

but in saying that …..times have changed and some families that can afford a vacation ,because not all can .sometimes they enlist the opinions of their children.

Not likely. Most promotions now include Guests 3 and 4 sailing for free. (Just pay port fees.). The difference between a Mini-Suite and a full Suite is way more than the cost of bringing minors along (who won’t be getting the Premier Package).

i’m not sure why you keep quoting me. Yes I’m responding and so are you. But probably should be directed at the author. I have no control on what cruise line they choose. I am just offering my opinion, but the author seems to be OK if their teens are the only ones on the ship ,they like the itinerary and they want to go north in the summer. Maybe staying home is not an option for the teens.? Not my decision.

I’ve got news for everyone.  In late June into July it can get very hot on the east coast with extreme humidity.  I laugh when Americans say they want to go north to get away from the heat.  The OP may be very disappointed in his choice.

Look for the roll call for your sailing on this site and the FB group for your sailing.  You will get to connect with others who will be on the ship and get a better gage of teens on board.

How old are your teens? That may help people give advice. There's a lot of difference between a thirteen year old and a nineteen year old. Princess does have a teen center (The Beach House) for ages 12-17. There is not a center for ages 18, 19, and 20; but they will often schedule a get-acquainted get-together for that age group. Ages 18, 19, and 20 are allowed in all adult areas of the ship, including the casino and all clubs. They are allowed to gamble in the casino. They are just not allowed to drink alcohol (in US based cruises).

They might be ok! We did a 17 night transatlantic in May last year. There were only 17 teens on board due to it being a transatlantic and still most places in school. The group became super close and still stay in Touch. My daughter preferred this! More space in the teen club and they became close friends! I think there should be a decent amount over a break. We were actually surprised at how awesome the teen club was on the island! Being an older ship, it was a decent size!
