it's an interesting program, but not new.  Power Up Points have been around for several years

Yes interesting indeed. I thought it was new since I haven't cruised Celebrity in a while. I have a X cruise coming up in November and just joined the program. Thanks for the clarification.

There is one, but it only has a small number of continental choices.  Bikini’s, Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s are included.

Depending on the itinerary and the numbers of elites and higher, it could be buffet style or it could be ordered from a menu

There will be an alignment of benefits, at least between Celebrity and Royal.  They are hinting at it by saying more changes are coming.  It is encouraging that they acknowledge the appreciation of the benefits by their loyal customers, but I still think the voucher program on Royal will be turned back into the happy hour program on Celebrity with the spin that its what customers really want.  The happy hour program is positioned in a much more restrictive way with limited time and a limited menu.  It's GOT to be cheaper for them.  They probably do realized there would be a massive rebellion over the change though.

I am very happy for the reciprocal loyalty benefits.  But is this just another step of the blending of the three lines into just one mega RCG cruise line?  Everything is going in this direction lately.

Checked my account on their website and I’m now Zenith. Never thought that would happen.  💃🏼🍸🍹🥂🍻🍷🍾💃🏼

I've never sailed or even booked with Celebrity and just logged in using my Royal credentials and I'm Elite.  I didn't expect that.  I hit D+ this fall... Assuming that that moves up to Elite+ I will start to look at Celebrity for bookings when the new itineraries come out this November/December.

What makes you think they are going in the direction of becoming one cruise line? I have seen nothing that even remotely suggests this would happen, not to mention it would make no sense financially. Updating loyalty benefits is not an indication RCG is planning to merge their three lines together.

You took my comment too literally I think.

We've been Elite+ with Celebrity for years and really appreciate the benefits that come with it.  Normally we purchase the drink package but if we don't, the 2 hour happy hour allows us to stock up on bottled water and soda for the next day.  You can get a glass of wine and carry it to dinner.  In the evening if you're actively playing in the casino, you can get a "free" drink from a limited menu, although we've never tried.  The 240 minutes of internet, 2 bags of laundry and free coffees and teas from Cafe Bacio are great perks, especially if you don't have the drink pkg.

Next month we'll be on RC with our kids and grandkids for the first time in 20 years.  Now that we'll be Diamond+, I know we'll get 5 drinks per day, a bag of laundry, some internet and access to the Diamond lounge.  What all is included with the lounge?

On Celebrity Edge class ships, no Captain's Club buffet. The Elite and above breakfast is held in Le Grand Bistro and there is a menu with plated options, such as fruit plate, salmon and bagel plate, and cheese/deli meat plate and smoothies, juices, coffee, tea, and blood mary's. No full course breakfast.

There is a light breakfast in the morning and appys during HH in the evening.  Also, there is a fancy coffee machine you can get Lattes and Cappuccino and such from all day long (no voucher required).

Just an FYI, the Diamond Lounge is now called the Crown Lounge. On cruises with a lot of Diamond Pluses and Pinnacles, they will restrict/limit Diamonds access to the Crown Lounge (I have only seen this once personally). There are usually small snack items available thru out the day and according to several friends the coffee is good there (I don’t drink coffee). They also normally have warm appetizers during happy hour, but no free drinks like pre-COVID. From my experience, the quality and availability of items in the lounge can vary significantly between ships.

I may be just being dense, when I move up from Diamond to Diamond + this winter I'll move from Elite to Elite+? Or do I stay at Elite because that's the level I was when I came over to Celebrity. Sorry

You will be Elite Plus. I am Diamond Plus and have always been Elite on Celebrity. When I checked the Celebrity app yesterday, it showed me as Elite Plus.

We have not sailed Celebrity for a few years, but IIRC back then a cabinmate (even a newbie) received the benefits of their Captain’s Club cabinmate.  What is their current policy for cabinmates?

From what I am being told, you will automatically become Elite+ when you move up to Diamond+.

On another note, X has a VIP Access (like the Key on RCI) which IMO, is a much better value than The Key. It includes the following:

What's Included

  • Premium Wi-Fi for two devices.
  • Complimentary room service, unlimited (waived delivery fee & gratuities)
  • Early access at the terminal. (See FAQs for more information)
  • Priority luggage delivery to staterooms.
  • Welcome lunch in the main dining room served from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm; be sure to select an early boarding time.
  • Priority departure from ship to shore in ports that require tender service.
  • Reserved seating at shows in The Theatre.
  • Express luggage service in the terminal when debarking.

Important details and advisements

  • When you receive your SeaPass card, it will have an icon confirming your purchase of Premium Access.
  • Premium Access must be purchased prior to sailing by each guest age 6 or older assigned to the same stateroom.
  • *YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO THESE BENEFITS: Before purchase, refer to your stateroom category amenities and your loyalty status to confirm.

Yes, that's correct. I checked both the app and the cruise planner online and I have been bumped up to Elite+.

Regarding status matching benefits, there are some status-matching exclusions I listed below per Crown & Anchor website. What do they mean by Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club amenities that I highlighted below? Are those the personal amenities that we choose pre-cruise to enjoy during the cruise such as soda, beer, wine, cookies, etc.?

We would still get the amenities based on number of points, right? In our case, our points are Diamond Plus, but we are being status matched to Pinnacle; so, we would get these personal amenities based on Diamond Plus, but we would get unlimited Internet and 6 drink vouchers (and other benefits/access if space is available) based on status-matched Pinnacle. Is that correct?

Exclusions:

  • Complimentary Pinnacle Club milestone cruises
  • Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club amenities
  • Single supplement cruise fare reduction
  • Cheers with an Officer onboard event
  • Milestone recognition (Crystal Block)
  • Upgraded bathroom amenities
  • Pinnacle Club milestone kits
  • Chef’s Choice amenity

Enjoy your cruise and welcome back!  🙂  Do be aware though, with you being D+ and access to Crown Lounge, if your kids/grandkids are not at least D and above, they will not have access to the Crown Lounge.  And in fact depending on how high the C&A numbers are, even if D...may not have access during happy hour.

The success of the C&A program is creating crowding issues in the lounges now that were not as bad 20 years ago.

Thanks!  This will be their first cruise so hopefully they'll love it and want to go on more.  There are four of them ranging in ages 3 to 11 so they're very excited to go. 😊

Royal has a great children's / teens program - Adventure Ocean - our grandchildren loved it. Lots of activities and having kids of their age group to mix with.

The three older ones will sign up for this but my son and DIL are hesitant about putting their daughter who just turned three in by herself.  We'll help watch her. 🥰
