JackE Posted June 12 #1 Share Posted June 12 Hello fellow gambling and cruise enthusiasts! I was wondering about how different cruise lines handle the smoking/non-smoking policies. Perhaps we can share here what the current situation is on board cruise lines. Let's use this forum to share facts and not conjecture or desires. I know that both Celebrity and Virgin both have non-smoking casinos across all ships. Anyone else? Thanks all for your input and expertise! Rare JGmf Posted June 12 #2 Share Posted June 12 You may want to ask the moderator to change the title of your thread. As you may know, 'casinos at sea" is the NCL brand....which I thought this thread was about...

SplashOfWater Posted June 13 #6 Share Posted June 13 Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class ships have a separate small non-smoking casino. This is in addition to the main casino which has one side smoking and the other side non-smoking. Icon of the Seas has a separate section of the main casino as non-smoking. The ventilation in the smoking side is very good.
SplashOfWater Posted June 13 #7 Share Posted June 13 Some of the newer NCL ships have designated their main casino as non-smoking and have created a smaller smoking casino behind glass doors. We've seen this on the Prima, Joy and Encore. 1

We've seen this on the Prima, Joy and Encore. Add Bliss and Viva to your list (with Prima, Joy and Encore) as they all have an enclosed section for smoking. New ship Aqua starts sailing next year and should have the same. Also, the just completed dry-dock of the Getaway included enclosing a small section for smoking leaving the majority of the casino smoke-free. Hopefully, her twin ship, Breakaway, may undergo the same change during her drydock early next year.

Wally Alligator Posted June 16 #10 Share Posted June 16 Carnival Mardi Gras has a very large nonsmoking area of the casino with a door between the smoking and nonsmoking casinos. Even have table games in the nonsmoking section. I would guess the other Excel class ships are laid out similar.

As someone else wrote above, Oasis class ships have a non-smoking casino, much smaller than the smoking casino for whatever reason - since only 12-14% of Americans smoke anymore. When they cruise from Florida, the ships are mostly filled with Americans.

Which cruise lines are NO smoking in the casino??? No glass doors, or faux seperations...... Thanks for Oceana, Seabourn & Regent....any others. Which ships WITH a casino, is NO smoking allowed? Thanks Edited July 7 by CalLuvsCrusingToo

Thanks We bring masks specifically to play machines on the smoking side and sometimes even that is good enough. We call it going over to the dark side

Thanks Celebrity is entirely no smoking anywhere inside the ship including casino and some Holland America ships are no smoking casinos (Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Oosterdam, Westerdam, Zuiderdam) Holland Smoking Areas I have sailed Celebrity (all ship classes) but have not sailed Holland so going by their posted information as well as many others that have sailed and validated this. 1
