Common sense is what I use.  When I book something obviously nuts I call politely and ask for something for my trouble.

When I was looking to buy a new car a couple months ago one dealer showed $3800 instead of $38000.  We're they incompetent?  Somebody hit a wrong key.  Happens every day.  They offered to sell me at invoice.  Was a reasonable offer.

Also you have been a member of Cruise Critic for over 10 years.  Correct?

But only about 50 posts in 10 years

I think the confusing thing is for those who are used to getting Casino deals, there is a precedent in the past with Princess throwing in the package on certain promotions. So it is reasonable that someone could see that and think it is part of the Casino perk for that particular sailing. They have a bunch of different packages going all at once, and some of the vary from sailing to sailing, so I was definitely thinking it was part of the benefit. Of course, had we booked I would have double checked, but I don't think based on past history of getting the benefit free before from the Casino it was unreasonable to assume that might be the case here.

Can see where you could think this way but OP said never cruised before so do not think they would be expecting a Casino Fare

How am I to know it’s a glitch? I’m new to cruising and Princess  if I hadn’t checked my booking I would have assumed I had Plus included at zero because that’s what it shows!!!  Apparently you all know they are either incompetent or shysters   I did not

If a room or package comes up as free or heavily discounted, that would give me suspicion that a deal is too good to be true. Cruise lines aren't in the business to freely give out cruises or packages out of the goodness of their hearts. They are in it to make money because that's what businesses do, they're in it to make a profit.

Glitch or not, the OP clearly has printed, hard copy evidence of Princess's offer and of his acceptance.

That's a contract.

OP: hold on and don't let go. The law is on your side. You may have to climb their management ladder before they formally concede. In your dealings with them, don't lose sight of your contract law rights. And their wrongs!

And I certainly wouldn’t be mad about it once they corrected it and didn’t honor it. Some things are just obvious mistakes.

You, like many other people, probably didn’t carefully review the terms and conditions associated with using their website. Among others things, there’s this:

Princess reserves the right not to honor any published prices that it determines were erroneous due to printing, electronic or clerical error.  Princess shall have the right to refuse or cancel any bookings made at an incorrect price whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Princess shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price

An advertisement is not a contract. If a car dealer puts an ad in the paper and it omits a zero that is an error you will not win any case that r rn looks like this. There are many laws protecting companies in this type of situation

It wasn’t an advertisement, it was the actual booking.  It’s still that way, so not just a glitch.  I know nothing of casino offers or typical pricing or previous errors,  I’m just a person wanting to book a cruise and go on vacation.  Princess has shown me that they aren’t the kind of company I want to have a carefree vacation with.  I will cancel and look elsewhere.

Some casino offers come with free PP a free room and free play.  I would have thought it was a casino offer but if I did not get casino offers, I would have thought that it was an error on their part as they were not advertising complimentary plus with cruise bookings.  If Princess Plus was free, it would have been heavily marketed.

It sounds like you are just a person that wants to take advantage of an obvious mistake and willing to forego what might be an awesome cruise vacation with Princess.

Which really doesn't mean anything... only a Court of law means something

So you can’t trust what you’re booking online? It’s just a scam?

Can you get in to see what the price is if you don't select Princess Plus? Today is the 1st day of supposed to see everything except gratuities in the base price. I'm asked immediately if I'm booking a package and tried to test that on your Antarctica cruise but I can't get in

Shows same price but Princess Standard applied.  If I add Princess Plus it adds no cost which follows the 0 pricing on the previous page and shows Princess Plus applied  I thought it was possibly July 4th sale. There is no way for me to know that it’s an obvious mistake as it is all clearly laid out.  I was going to take this cruise to see if I wanted to take my family and friends in 2026.  I’m just not going to, it’s too much trouble if I have to sort thru problems like this.  Lots of other choices.

It doesn't hurt to try and get Princess to honor their mistake.  It's your time and if you the time to pursue the issue, why not give it a shot?

In May, remember when Princess gave away free weeklong inaugural cruises on the Star Princess (with free Premier package and $200 OBC) and Greenland/Iceland cruises on the Emerald Princess?  Princess admitted their mistake and ended up honoring the bookings in downgraded Interior cabins.

To me, it looks like Plus is free because you were already quoted a Plus fare which includes the package.

what puzzles me is the crossed out $93.  Shouldn’t that be $60? Was there an offer to upgrade to Premier for $20?

But you've been told multiple times it's a glitch.

I stated previously this happened quite often in 2021 and 2022, where the the price didn't increase for Plus. We completed a hold booking, and Plus wasn't included.

It's a glitch.

They fake values of items all the time.

One:  Princess has a problem with their IT department.  they are putting things out there that are wrong, deceptive and miss leading.  not the customer's fault

Two:  no one should have to look at something on a web page and think that that is not really the price, that is a mistake, I should not believe what I see.

Three:  When you are looking at the cost of a cruise and the prices are listed are you saying that looks too good to be true or that is way too much.

Princess has a problem, so don't blame the customer for their errors.

when I go to the department store and they have a clearance rack, see an item that has a clearance sticker that shows $5.00 regularly $55.00 - do I put it back on the rack and say, that was an error and I should not buy it.  Don't list the price if you are not going to honor it.
