Pinnacle/Zeniths ?

Recommended Posts

Yes, on Eclipse to Bermuda on the July 28th sailing.  There were only 15 Zeniths on the cruise - 11 real Zeniths and four of us Pinnacle Zeniths.

We also got invited to the Zenith lunch on board.  Unlike RCCL, the Captain and Hotel Director joined us for the meal.

Crown and Anchor on Royal got too Successful. 25+ yrs ago Diamond was Top Tier and you'd get together with Captain, Hotel Director, Chief Engineer, Doctor, all a Formal Gathering. At most back then 6-10 of us on Newest most Popular Ships/Sailings

The members are Pinnacles not Zeniths and visa versa. No such thing as a Zeniacles or Pinniths.

I think it is meant to be a joke that neither are full Zeniths or Pinnacles - just a little bit of one.

But matched Pinnacles and Zeniths don't have all the same benefits as earned Pinnacles and Zeniths.

I realize that. I didn't say the crossovers have the same exact benefits. Doesn't change the fact that when on a RC cruise they are no longer Zenith members and visa versa.

There are also exclusions at D+ and probably other tiers as well.

That's correct. We are D+ with less than 340 CAS points. So our perks/benefits are not the same as a D+ with or more than 340 CAS points. Recognized as D+ members.

You are correct in that more points within D+ allows certain perks.  But I meant exclusions such as while Elite+ shares the same benefits as D+ when on RCCL, they don't have the D+ Specialty Restaurant BOGO available to them, etc. In other words not every perk within each tier is shared with the reciprocity.

My orginal rant (#4) was only based on those that label crossover Zeniths as Pinnacle Zeniths and crossover Pinnacles as  Zenith Pinnacles when cruising with Celebrity and RC. They are not Zenith Pinnacle and visa versa. Only Zenith and Pinnacle. Unless Celebrity calls them that and is printed on their name tags that way. 🤣 My post (#4) had nothing to do with cruise points or tier level perks/benefits. Off my soapbox as we don't cruise in suites and won't make Pinnacle or Zenith. .

Perhaps homedepot124 could expound on how the number of Zeniths and Royaliths was determined?

Twenty Zenith on Reflection this past weekend.  They didn't break it down as to the source of the Zenithness.

They did a Zenith gathering on day 2 at 4:45pm in Cellar Masters and took a group photo that was delivered to the cabin later that night.  Hors d'oeuvres offered by roaming servers and drinks.   Apparently this gathering was a new thing for them to try on the short 3 night cruise where they didn't offer a Zenith lunch.  A number of officers were present including the HD.

Just about every bartender asked why we didn't have black cards.   Color of the card doesn't matter to me.  Just odd that every bartender at every bar commented on the standard card being given to a Zenith.

A Pinnacle friend was also on board.  His card had a star on it.  Apparently the star indicates someone who is on their first sailing with Celebrity.  In his case his card had Zenith on it (like mine) but also had the star.  Kind of funny Zenith but on his first X cruise.

Used the retreat line at the terminal to board.  Suite concierge greeted us in the suite waiting area as we waited to board on day 1.  They were available in Michael's for anything we needed.   They offered the priority escort off the ship at the end of the cruise so we could get on the road to beat traffic.  We met in Michaels for that.

Full drink package worked well.  Premium internet was fine but Reflection still has the old 4 Mbps x 2 Mbps per user speed limits on their WiFi packages like Oasis class did before Starlink.  Reflection has Starlink but kept the old WiFi speed limits.

Never used Michael's during happy hours as we hung out at various bars enjoying live music.

All in all it worked out quite well. Looking forward to going back in a few weeks.

That will be us on Beyond in November.  First X cruise.

Think it will now become our goto.

Another data point:

Sailing on Reflection again in a week or so. Email arrived today.

I'm a Royal Zenith with 179 points and I made the threshold for Retreat Lounge access.

Another Royal Zenith I know on the same sailing with 14 X points did not make the threshold and will not have Retreat Lounge access.

Unknown how many Zenith on this next sailing.

So while X points don't matter they sort of still do if Retreat Lounge access is important to you.

It would be interesting to find an Elite+ or Zenith passenger sailing on an RCL ship and ask them to get one of the bartenders to print out what "coupons" are preloaded on their sea pass cards. Given the crackerjack talent in RCL's IT department, my guess is that those "excluded" on board benefits are there.😇🙄

By the time I make Pinnacle, my 533 X points will probably be on the low side, since Ps are now moving to X and accumulating X points.

Have no fear, ask any non-Pinnacle on CC and most will state with absolute certainty that Pinnacle never book anything but interior cabins.  🙂

I'm sure this is well known but I was amazed on our recent 'Top Tier' event on a sailing last week to be told that C & A membership last year was 30 million and the number of Pinnacles was over 300,000.

Am I missing something? I have never heard Pinnacles only book interiors.
