Looking up recipes wouldn't be so time consuming if you didn't have to read a small novel first about the authors bio, family history, how the recipe evolved over a time & favorite memories of the recipe as well as alternate recipes. 6

Yup. Even more of a reason to take your time and make sure you know “ Everything “ about what you are interested in making. I mean. Even if I’m busy “looking up recipes “ and the spouse has to empty the dishwasher or let’s say take care of what the cat regretfully “recycles “ on kitchen floor. I mean. I’m busy. Thank you dear for cleaning up after the cat. You know I would do it. It’s not like I’m on CC or posted on a thread about or travels. ME????? No Never. SIDE NOTE: There was a CC member who for years would make a comment about how when cruising. He would : “Watch the News” It was his way of saying taking a nap. Now for those of you who do not know him his CC name is “Radio” He is one of the many original live travel posters. He was very informative, and shared his travels. And it was what he was known by. Well, I do not watch the news. And my thread could never compare to his work. My writing style is different. I may say I look for recipes to kinda sorta ——- Well, read or post on my phone. Not really get out of my wifey duties. Anyway. I do look up recipes. But, well———— Okay So I can post my travels here. I told the spouse I would finish the house stuff organizing so when he gets home he just has to shower and load the car and off we go. Well after he gets rid of the BUG that I gave a mini solarium to. Be safe Later 😉 5
StanleyandGus Posted September 6 #128 Share Posted September 6 2 hours ago, Lionesss said: I do not do bugs Totally understand! I garden, and bugs and spiders are fine outside. I like bees. Bugs do not belong in the house! That reminds me, I have to pick up windfall apples, avoiding wasps. Next week will be apple day. Sigh. It’s nice to fill up the freezer, but it’s hard work to get it that way. Have a great cruise!

Rare Lionesss Posted September 6 Author #133 Share Posted September 6 (edited) We made it to Cleveland on the turnpike before the storms and beat rush hours. Now the Ohio turnpike: Has the same orange thingies and lane closures as in April, ( the ones I see every week when I drive to Bowling Green). Now they either are wayyyy behind schedule or They put their Halloween decorations up early. (Sick. I know). What is nice about this hotel is the parking. We got prime parking in general parking right in front of the entrance. When you enter - the lobby is very welcoming. And 2 tv screens. One as a welcoming. And the other with flight information. (use your imagination). And the room is very nice and clean. Now when the computer is available. We will need to print our boarding pass. The App on phone won’t let us. And when we were at home on computer it said no can do. Do at airport. We have a 7 am flight so we don’t want to get their any earlier than we have too. Enough for now. Be safe. Rare Lionesss Posted September 6 Author #136 Share Posted September 6 (edited) Dinner tonight was at the Crowne Hotels restaurant. With the rain and having a perfect parking spot we opted just to stay dry and eat in. MENU: Dinner salad. Chicken Parmesan Dinner rolls. Well 4 dinner rolls hidden above salad 😉 lol Way too much food. Very tasty. Then back to our room. Boy did I need a HOT shower to relax. Not gonna happen. The water well saying it was lukewarm was kind. So after my quickie shower. Chill time. (Yup funny right). Early to bed Earlier to rise. United airlines computer sites all messed up. We could fill out everything. But not able to print. United AI ( robot). Said to obtain at airport. But we have a ticket on our phones. Never did that before. Hope tomorrow it works. Always a first for something. Anyway Good night. No recipe looking tonight. Probably watch the “News”. Be safe. Rare Lionesss Posted September 6 Author #137 Share Posted September 6 I don’t know about anyone else but it seems I could be bored not having my social calendar filled and the one time something I LOVE is going to happen (BAM!!!!!!!) I get another event. Now my daughter invited us as guest to HAPPY VALLEY AKA. ……..” WE ARE…….. Bowling Green is playing the Nittany Lions tomorrow and she wanted me to STOMP STOMP STOMP. Yup Go to my old stomping grounds as her guest. But, we already had this cruise planned since last February. Anyway. She drove over hills, valleys and who knows how many road kills to get there. 7 hours in a car. I can only hope BGSU scores at least once. I will just settle for the cruise. Good night.

Rare perfect match Posted September 7 #141 Share Posted September 7 Hope you have a safe, bug 🐞 free flight and cruise. Your bug in it’s glass dome was 😂😂😂😂! You probably shouldn’t plan to move to Florida. We have bugs everywhere here. Just not in my house! We have an excellent exterminator who gets the job done. We’ll be driving to Port Canaveral on Sunday morning to board Wonder. We’re hoping for an easy 90 minute drive and the expected rain to hold off until after both we and our luggage are on board. I’ll be following you from there.

Rare Lionesss Posted September 7 Author #143 Share Posted September 7 Good morning from. We arrived early because Cleveland is notorious for long TSA LINES. We dropped our luggage off , went to TSA pre check Line. Walked through. No wait. The metal detector “dinged” on me and I was pulled aside to have random inspection. I won the phone check where they swab your phone down and look for residue like nitroglycerin (Dynamite) or nasal medication ( cocaine). The machine said no such powders detected. Stopped and got an English muffin with sausage egg and cheese at Chic Filet. Coffee was excellent. Then walked the concourse to our gate 1800 steps. 3 quarters of a mile. Our ride is here. Then just waiting till time to board. Other than that. Charging my phone. OOOHHHH! Spouse is now reading the cruise thread. Awaiting his response. Safest bet for me. Read more recipes. Be safe. 7

Rare Lionesss Posted September 7 Author #148 Share Posted September 7 HELLO FROM FORT LAUDERDALE I had trouble posting updates, could not get on CC. SOOOOOOO Today so far has been a day full of memories being made. To start with. I must say I have the bestest spouse there is. To begin with. The first class seats on the plane were something I truly appreciated. Then as the minutes advanced it was a flight one could only ever dream of. Breakfast. Naptime (fall asleep upon takeoff then dozing the rest of the way). Breakfast was served and consist of scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausages, spinach surprise, fruit cup and yogurt. We had already eaten an English muffin so we only consumed the yogurt and fruit. We topped it off with a Diet Coke. Well, let’s talk about the dream. You guessed it. That case scenario was just but a dream. I was not a perfect dream. Yes sir reeee…… Forgot about turbulence. You know the up and down, jerking, that gives you a death defying grip on the arm rest, not to mention the husbands hand. Now mind you. It wasn’t the whole flight. Probably 1/3 of the way. During that time I said many a “Hail Mary” I figured being up above the clouds a few prayers won’t hurt. But we survived. The landing. Let’s just say I am glad the brakes worked. It was a fast touchdown and long way till we slowed down to acceptable speed. It then it got better. People were so nice getting off the plane. No pushing or shoving. Kudos to kindness. We exited stage right at gate C2 And lo and behold the restrooms were right there. And SURPRISE ——No crowd. Went to baggage claim and our bags were one of the first ones off. And once again. No crowds. It was almost like a remake of the Stephen King movie The Langoliers And if you haven’t seen it, you should. So off we went to get a cab. It was a nice new SUV. Air conditioner was great. Then the drive speaks an unknown language and hands me his phone. Just then it rings. I go. ”hello”. He grabs the phone and pulls up hotels. OHHHHHHHH I type in Embassy suites 17 th street. Off we go. Interesting. He can read English but only speak——( jkhgddruiojn) So now we arrive at the Embassy and our room isn’t ready. So I said we will wait. 30 min later we are getting our paper work for a room. 😁 So we walked to the elevator saw this sign. There is massive unbelievable renovation going on $$$$$$$$ 2 floors are completely closed. So now we get to our suite. Door lock works, we cannot get in. New lock. Sticks The cleaning lady showed us how to do some hip action to get in. Me having matronly hips did the trick ( no comments from the peanut gallery). So here is our renovated suite. Yup They got rid of the low riding toilets made for pre school The new ones moved up to elementary school height. Ok Enough. I hope you like the pictures. The dialogue, well. As I said in a previous thread……… ”IT IS WHAT IT IS”. Off to Publix Be safe. 11
