i could but i went there last week and i don't want it in storage,i would rather people can see it.or if i could get it on the ship itself?they could put it in a case and screw it down to the deck or display case,we dont want it to break with rough seas.

cheers matt

Hi Matt,

You should contact P & O and ask them if they would like it to display on the ship, I'm sure they would be interested. Maybe our contact at P & O could make some enquiries for you.

man this site is slow today,no there is a sugar model of the p/d on the dawn her self.i have a photo that i took when i went on the tour last year, you can see the difference.

cheers matt

It has either dissolved or they have it locked away somewhere, as we didn't see it on PD when we were onboard in September.

There was also a sugar model of Pacific Sky on board Pacific Sky. Seemed to be the thing to do at one stage.

The Pacifc Sky one, displaying her as she was when built as Fairsky, was a fairly accurate representation. Unfortunately, I can't find a photo of it, thought I had one, but it's not on the disk of photo's from that cruise.

This one of Pacific Dawn looks more like a stylised/cartoon model. Your model is certainly a much better representation Matt.

I am home sick and watching more daytime tv. I was actually watching "Ripleys believe it or not". They had a guy on who had made a replica of the White House right down to working lights and handmade carpets. You couldnt tell which was a photo of the real thing and which was the model. He did say how many chairs he had made just to get one right. It was amazing.

Your attention to detail is also amazing, will you be having it shown somewhere it would be a shame to only have it on your dining room table!!

Those little boats are so cute:) . Can't wait to see the finished product.

For any newcomers that may not have read the start of this thread, check out the early pics.......it certainly has come a long way.

you wouldnt happen to be in the military would you matt, i ask this as the bedding in the pic is standard navy issue and i made one each day for about 9 years, have not seen one in a while though:D

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that! :)
