kaseyoz Posted September 9, 2008 #161 Share Posted September 9, 2008 I was just reading the blog posted on here and came across an interesting piece of information. They could buy rolex watches for US$2 but coffee at starbucks was US$11, amazing comparison.

Knock off Rolex's for $2, and I am sure that knock off Starbucks would be just as cheap (and nasty)

Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 11, 2008 #169 Share Posted September 11, 2008 Yep . Looks like it. The camera is aimed a bit too high at the moment for us to see,but when they are at anchor ,they fly a black ball from the front mast.

Witchymob Posted September 12, 2008 #172 Share Posted September 12, 2008 Vung Tau or Phu My are the ports for Ho chi Minh city (Saigon) the webcam looks like Phu My as that is an alongside port, were there on Oriana in Feb but it is hard to tell from the webcam exactly where they are, but it looks the same, the bit of dock sticking out into the water, always better to be alongside I reckon. Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 12, 2008 #173 Share Posted September 12, 2008 Vung Tau is closer to Ho Chi Min City than Phu My. We docked at Phu My on Pacific Princess and it was a 2 hr bus ride into the city.Phu My is just a wharf at an isolated sugar factory. Some of the smaller ships can actually sail right up the river to the city ,but most have to dock at installations at the start of the Mekong delta. DICKY BEACH Posted September 12, 2008 #175 Share Posted September 12, 2008 For those who have been to Viet Nam which port is the call to visit Halong Bay?Halong Bay is on my must do list. Halong Bay has it's own port and is the most beautifull part of Vietnam. Do a one or two night trip on one of the local junks. An experience not to be missed.
