  1. Do a thread title limited search for Captain.
  2. I think it was removed from there and you have to call, though I don’t recall if that is available for markets outside of the USA.
  3. Fain retired and Liberty took over the overall RCG but Bayley is still RCI CEO.
  4. That is unlikely to happen out of the US - that's likely a European/Italian thing - having a surge that late for dinner.
  5. Even if that was the case, until RCI changes the rules, you can cash it out at the casino via the slot machine - financially, there's no diff.
  6. RCI calls it Royal Up - that would yield many more search results.
  7. You may not know till much closer to sailing - it all depends on what other ships are in port that day.
  8. The break-even point is around 6 drinks per day.
  9. You can send app suggestions to AppFeedback@rccl.com.
  10. 2D cabins should not have any obstructions. On Q class ships, like your Anthem sailing, the obstructed balconies are mostly on deck 6 and are categorized as E balconies.
  11. If you uncheck the communications box in your account at RCI it may stop the emails, but it may also cut off the Royal Up offers.
  12. Some Ovation TP related threads may have some info. The ports of call section may as well. The best bet might be the Roll Call thread or social media related to your sailing.
  13. It's coming soon......... " Brightline's Orlando station is due to open soon, connecting riders between Central and South Florida, including four cruise homeports. Nobody is a bigger champion of this high-speed train than Royal Caribbean International's Vicki Freed, SVP sales, trade support & service, who rides it daily between her home in Boca Raton and the cruise line's PortMiami office. 'I love it. It's game-changing for us,' Freed said. She's not the only Brightline fan: 'I think we're the largest corporate user,' she said of Royal Caribbean Group. 'So I meet all my buddies on the train.' They've given up the hassles of driving on I-95, for a fast, smooth ride where they catch up on emails, work and sometimes have one-to-one meetings. 'We get a lot accomplished,' Freed said. 'None of us are stressed out any more because we've got our emails done. We don't sit in I-95 traffic. It's such a pleasure.' Freed typically boards the 7 a.m. train in Boca for the 56-minute ride to the Miami station, where Royal Caribbean supplies shuttles to the office. So she's at her desk by 8:10 a.m. Other Brightline commuters include regular employees from RCI, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, and senior executives like Alfredo Suarez, SVP corporate finance and strategy, Royal Caribbean Group; and RCI's Kara Wallace, CMO; John Foulk, VP global contact centers; Vince Alesia, director onboard sales; and Ali Douglas, manager, national accounts — to name a few. Many joined Brightline's coffee club; for $99 a year they get Lavazza coffee or tea in the station and on the train. 'It's so relaxing, like going first class on an airplane,' Freed said. 'It's clean, beautiful, a really great experience.' And Brightline hires 'amazing people. They're friendly. We all feel so welcomed.' For cruisers Of course Brightline's benefits also apply to cruisers. Stations currently serve three cities with cruise ports: Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Once the Orlando International Airport station opens, that will give access to Port Canaveral. Brightline will cover the 230-mile Orlando-Miami trip in 3.5 hours. 'We're excited about Orlando opening next month,' Freed said. 'For anyone in Florida, we're encouraging them to take Brightline for many reasons: No. 1: It's stress-free, it's easy, you don't have to drive. Our parking structures are full. People hate to have to park off-site. It's expensive to park.' 'Starting your vacation at the station' 'It's really about starting your vacation the minute you enter our station,' according to Johanna Rojas, Brightline’s SVP partnerships and sales. 'It's very important to us to offer a seamless experience. We think of everything, from food and beverage to customer service to the design of our stations to our onboard experience. 'The minute [passengers] are onboard, they're in that vacation state of mind. They're not stressed, stuck in traffic, thinking about are they going to get there on time? It's really about being laid back, enjoy your vacation, your time with your family and significant other.' Royal Caribbean sales teams actively promote Brightline and tell travel advisors about the benefits for their clients. In future, it's planned that anyone booking a cruise from Florida will get communications, and Brightline reservations are to be incorporated into Royal Caribbean technology as part of the pre-cruise booking options. Travel advisor commissions Rojas said Brightline will soon roll out commisions for individual travel advisors. The company already has programs with AAA and other major travel sellers. International travelers are also targeted via wholesalers since many fly to Miami or Orlando and combine a cruise from either port with a visit to the Central Florida theme parks. Freed tells travel advisors it's easy to book and encourages them to talk about Brightline as 'a mini-vacation on top of a cruise ... It's fun. It's fun for families and kids to travel on the train.' For the full Orlando-Miami stretch, Brightline Smart fares will start at $39 for children/$79 for adults, up to $149 for adults in Premium (first) class. There are discounts for kids and savings for groups of four and more. Parking at Brightline stations costs $7 a day, versus what can be $28 a day at cruise terminals. 'A perfect marriage' Brightline's reduced promotional fares for children 'marry beautifully with Royal Caribbean and us being the leader for families,' Freed said. 'We're promoting Icon of the Seas, particularly, as being the best family vacation in the world. So, for us, it's a perfect marriage.' She added that when Utopia of the Seas enters service with three-/four-day cruises from Canaveral, that will mean an incremental 15,000 passengers a week. And with many cruisers expected to come from Florida, 'We want people to take Brightline because ... we'll never have the parking.' Seamless package with Uber included Brightline's 'From Station to Vacation' package provides what Rojas called 'a seamless experience.' Passengers booking a premium ticket get priority lounge access, mimosas on board and complimentary Uber pick-up for transport to the station and drop-off upon arrival within a five-mile radius, so that includes PortMiami, for example. When the Orlando station opens, Brightline will unveil a transportation partner for the transfers to/from Port Canaveral; that will be an extra charge. The parade of big new ships coming to Florida will drive a 'huge need,' Rojas said. Brightline has targeted cruisers from the start, but it's working to grow the 'train market' — as opposed to 'drive market' — for cruising. Rojas said about 1m passengers a year drive to PortMiami, for example. 'We hope to capture half of that, if not more,' she said." 14. " Work on Global Dream's transformation for Disney Cruise Line began this month at MV Werften Wismar under the Meyer Group. This follows months of uncertainty about the project. Completion is expected in 2025, or possibly 2026 at the latest. MV Werften administrator Christoph Morgen handed a symbolic key to the yard to Meyer Managing Director Bernard Meyer a week ago, paving the way for the continuation of work on the vessel. Capacity is to be reduced, and the use of green methanol facilitated. Disney plans to operate the renamed ship from Singapore. For many months after Disney confirmed it got Global Dream, little happened, and the vessel was merely maintained at MV Werften with some preparations to resume work. In June local trade union representatives and some regional politicians expressed concern about the shipyard situation. It was unclear whether a contract between Meyer and Disney had actually been signed. A member of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern federal state parliament told journalists in mid-June that she didn't know of a contract. 400 workers available In mid-July, Morgen announced work would soon resume. Meyer Wismar already employed about 280 of its own staff, along with another 100 still engaged through the administrator who were due to transfer to Meyer Wismar. This makes about 400 now available to work on Global Dream. Wismar's shipyard compound was acquired by Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems in June 2022, but leased back by MV Werften's administrator to allow Global One's completion. With Meyer Wismar at last ready to start, the administrator sublet the yard to Meyer. Rumors of 2026 completion In March Disney announced the ship would begin operating from Singapore in 2025 but recent rumors suggest it could take until 2026 to complete the work on the floating vessel. By then, though, Global Dream will have left the covered building dock. In July the dock gate was opened for a while, and the ship was visible, its hull sporting the dark livery in line with a rendering released by Disney last November. A Meyer Wismar flag on the bow heralded the project's continuation. Naval vessel construction in future This will be Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's last cruise newbuild. Once it's been completed, TKMS intends to develop the Wismar yard to manufacture naval vessels, mainly submarines and frigates. The owner hopes for orders from Germany, which has a €100b program to upgrade its armed forces, especially in light of the tense European geopolitical situation sparked by Russia's war in Ukraine. Exactly how the transformation from merchant shipping into military craft will be carried out remains to be seen. TKMS is expected to take over most of the staff now working on Global Dream. So the cruise project helps to preserve shipbuilding knowledge and competence in the Wismar area, preventing a 'brain drain' that a temporary closure of the shipyard would have caused. Depending on Global Dream's progress, it is possible the transformation to naval shipbuilding overlaps, with some of the workforce completing the Disney ship while others switch to TKMS projects. Specifics will be decided later, and the exact procedure also depends on TKMS's order situation by 2025/26. " Global Dream conversion for Disney begins under Meyer in Wismar (seatrade-cruise.com)
  15. Didn't see any great deals on the F&F flier from last week but the GGG flier this week has good prices on the Anthem, Odyssey and Symphony TAs. rci_sales_event_USD.docx (rccl.com)
  16. You may want to give the browser a try on a different device or clear cache/cookies on your existing one. Otherwise, you'll need to keep trying every few days. No problem if you never get to check in - the porters will have tags to affix to your luggage and the staff will likely let you check in when you arrive without any check in time.
