  1. Not the news we were wanting to hear Uncle Les. Steel yourself for the next part of the recovery. Remember we are all with you.
  2. I have not carried cash in many many months. Tap for everything. Works very well in Melbourne. When I was I Perth recently, there were signs in some shops indicating they preferred cash. May reflect lockdown differences.

  4. After the early morning balloons, headed to a nature outing. Usually birds and such. This was a little different.
  5. @chubbypiggyThe Oz eta is valid for 12 months from date of issue, allowing multiple entries (with time limits on each). With your trip in April, applying now is well within the 12 month period — or allowing time to apply for another visa if needed. Can’t help with nz.
  6. Not sure why i was up before 6am on a Sunday morning, or why these balloons were gliding down my street about 6 of them).

  8. At times the lights can be seen from the Victorian coast, but not usually in their full glory. A number of websites track the likelihood and locations for best viewing. This is a reputable site, and can link through to a 3 day tracker https://cdn.softservenews.com/southern_lights.html

  12. Well, those red skies at night may have been a bad omen
  13. Certainly damaging the health costs. it May provide a better outcome for you. The new diuretic may provide a better solution for managing the fluid retention and the kidney function problems because of how they target the cause. Whatever you do, don’t sign up for the cricket. We all know about Warnie and his mum’s water pills.
  14. Looking at the previous cruises, Fremantle to Sydney appears to be a segment of a much longer cruise originating in Sydney. So, there would be the passengers doing the whole trip, and a smaller number of spaces created by those disembarking in Fremantle. Subsequent cruises are all in the neighbourhood.
  15. Airlie Beach is a tender port. Cruise line tours have the reef boats collect passengers from the ship - which save plenty of time at each end of the trip. Even if you find a third party supplier, you need to factor in 45-60 minutes extra on each end of the trip. If you are going to Cairns, there may be options from there.
  16. Congratulations Lynn. I retired at 62. A combination of a serious pain condition and a very generous early retirement scheme by the university. Pleased to be out of the system.
  17. Weather is significantly awful. Gone up to about 10. Rainy, windy.
  18. No webcams, so relying on my camera across the Bay. 1. Pacific Adventure 31/10 at outer west berth Station Pier 2. Pacific Encounter at outer east Station Pier 3. Carnival Splendor moved into outer east in the middle of the night 4. Pacific Encounter moved to Web Dock (commercial dock) As P&O have moved to bigger ships, none can go under the Westgate to the other commercial docks
  19. QE is running about 10-12 cruises out of Melbourne. Also some out of Sydney.
