  1. Definitely go to the food and wine festival at Epcot. We’ve gone many times and it is awesome. Better yet, check out the food and wine festival at the Swan and Dolphin Resort. We stay there and not only go to theirs, but we can walk to the one at Epcot as well.
  2. We’ve sailed on both the Apex and most recently, the Reflection. Both are beautiful ships but we really love the Solstice class of ships. The Apex is flashy and sexy. The Reflection is classy and homey. We also like the flow of the Reflection. Our accessible cabin was very forward but once we came down to deck 5, it was easy to navigate back towards Blu. On the Apex it was like a maze. Not to mention trying to navigate the ridiculous hallway of mirrors and figurines that lead to Blu and Eden while on a scooter.
  3. Thank you for sharing. We found many misses when it came to accessibility on the Apex. I’m so glad to see they did away with the “elevator” to the pool. It was inoperable for our entire cruise.
  4. I was so excited about the Effy charm necklace last month on the Reflection-I had seen people post about them previously. I was diligent about going at the right time and retrieving my charm everyday. After about day 8, they started repeating charms so I wasn’t able to complete it. It’s still cute. Hope you are able to complete it!
  5. We’ve been doing AQ since it was introduced years ago, with a few suites mixed in. We have loved AQ. Last month we did it again on the Reflection TA. It was very disappointing. The maitre de didn’t speak or acknowledge us until day 3. He spent the majority of the time running around like a chicken with his head cut off, on his phone. The menu changed and items we always looked forward to were gone. We ate at a couple specialty restaurants and when we would return, we would have people near us tell us about dinner taking 2+ hours. Our room was very nice and well taken care of but absolutely none of the “niceties” we’ve come to expect as elite plus cruisers. First cruise ever to not receive sparkling wine at embarkation (although the flutes and ice bucket were there). Captains Club functions were packed, wall to wall. I’m sure the fact that this was a completely full cruise with close to 500 B2B cruisers contributed to the mediocre experience.
  6. I did the same for our cruise next July. I think it was $201.00 total (after taxes added) to upgrade two packages on a 12 night cruise. This year I upgraded two packages before our 14 night cruise. It was $561.00. I guess I should have paid better attention to the loads of emails we constantly get. Happy cruising!
  7. Thanks for your review. We were on this cruise as well. We enjoyed the entertainment also. Our experience with the food was similar. We were in Aqua Class and the food in Blu was disappointing many nights. On the plus side, we found the activities staff were very fun.
  8. We were on the TA on the Reflection last month. The Blu menu was so disappointing. We’ve been doing Aqua Class since it started. Every cruise we looked forward to it. Loved the baked brie with pepper jelly! Not this time. I don’t eat seafood. There were 7 starters one night. Five were seafood.
  9. Jim, I used the QR code for a couple items on our recent TA and wondered if anyone paid attention to them. I complimented a couple staff members and also pointed out that this was the first time in 17 sailings where we didn’t receive a bottle of sparkling wine (although we did have glasses). Also mentioned some disappointments with Blu. On the last day, as we were disembarking, one of those staff members I complimented, found us to thank us. So at least I know they read the good stuff. 🙃
  10. My husband and I were on the Reflection transatlantic from Barcelona on October 19. We ordered from the MDR menu several times. Way more times than we ever have. As a matter of fact, we’ve only done it once before and that was one entree on one night. Maybe you’ll have a better experience than we did. We found the menu different from what we had previously (and loved for many years). The whole experience was chaotic and service inconsistent. Again, you may have a much better experience.
  11. Thanks for sharing another wonderful trip review. About a month ago, I thought to myself that maybe I missed your fall cruise. Then I got busy preparing for our first TA and didn’t look again until tonight. Looking forward to your final thoughts.
  12. This was our magnet for our transatlantic last month.
  13. I feel bad for the staff who had to listen to angry customers for this ridiculous stunt.
  14. What a wonderful review! Your pictures are stunning. Thank you.
  15. Have a wonderful time! We did the same cruise on the millennium several years ago in Aqua Class also. We did a different land cruise prior which was great. I can’t wait to go back.
  16. Thanks for your great reporting! Who knew this cruise would become the great vaping adventure. Safe travels home. Ellen
  17. I do recall on our first cruise in 2005, half of the ship (with the exception of the dining room) was smoking, inside and out. I think it was about 2008 or 2009 that inside became non-smoking.
  18. Looking forward to your report! Hope tomorrow goes smoothly. I just went back and reread your March nightmare flight!
