  1. There is NEVER a guarantee of an empty ship. Will most people be off on port adventures during the day? Probably. But not necessarily all. And not necessarily all day. People will NOT likely be sleeping 6-8pm or 6-10pm as that is when entertainment and dinners are. You are choosing to go on a Disney Cruise. There are going to be children. If you don't want to deal with children, I'd suggest Virgin which is all adult or Viking which might as well be.
  2. No, I think you can buy it under "onboard gifts". Or you can call and tel them you'd like to buy onboard credit. I've never heard of being able to overcharge to do it.
  3. Absolutely this. Child in the case of children picked out to be on stage means chronological age/stage. NOT cognitive age.
  4. There will be families with children of all ages from many different countries on DCL regardless of the itinerary or time of year. In the US there are a lot of families who homeschool their children so that they can take off whenever they want, there are families who take their kids out of school regardless, and not all schools in the US follow the same schedule. If you want a line without children, you need to look at Virgin which is 18+.
  5. I'd imagine it could be either. But the key word is CHILD. Just notating that because you mention your daughter is an adult chronologically. Just because one cruise might have had a male-appearing child doesn't mean another couldn't have a female-appearing child.
  6. Ok, the Star Trek geek in me would be totally cool with having a Captain Kirk in charge!
  7. How quickly do your Kindles run low? I do a lot of reading on mine and it will hold the charge for 5-7 days!
  8. I cancelled and rebooked on Wednesday - the part on my Visa showed up today.
  9. I used to be able to see potential excursions for ports on Celebrity...but they seem to have closed and locked that back door as I get an error message whenever I try it now. It's really annoying - especially since I used that when deciding between itineraries.
  10. Wow! That reminds me of many years ago when I was living in Nashville and still flew Southwest sometimes. They had so many people claiming they needed pre-boarding on flights to Orlando, Las Vegas, and New Orleans that on those routes they put a policy in place that if you needed pre-boarding you were allowed to select seats only in a certain section and you would be the last to deplane because of that same phenomenon. They'd limp onto the plane - or worse, use a wheelchair - but as soon as the plane landed they'd jump up, grab their bags, and dash off the plane. It sucks when people abuse a service that others legitimately need.
  11. Pretty sure you can go straight to your cabin to drop off bags and get your SeaPass card.
  12. Love it!! Wow the price has gone up for the privilege of climbing the mountain! It was only 3 euro in 2016! They definitely revere their cats in Kotor!!
  13. Any clue what the price would be? I'd hope less than 2 and an umbrella, but...
  14. Thanks for this information. Any clue what one chair and umbrella would be - if that is even a possibility? Or just one chair? I'll be solo, so 2 chairs would be overkill.
  15. As far as talking with your dining companions, use your inside voices. There is no reason a table next to you should be hearing every word of your conversation. Regarding talking to the people at the table next to you, say "Hello" and read their response. NOT everyone cruises to make new "friends" and NOT everyone wants to talk with the table next to them. If your neighbors are obviously open to it, sure, Talk. BUT if your neighbor's response to your greeting is curt or non-existent (and/or if they are solo and whip out a book or e-reader), take the hint that they are not there for conversing - and leave them alone. And definitely unless they ask you for your opinion on menu items, keep it to yourself.
  16. When I look at the menu in the app, I'm seeing options beyond those. Depending on the night, I'm seeing chicken in various forms, filet mignon, salmon, short ribs, steak salad, ribeye steak, tuna, pork tenderloin, prime rib, some type of pasta, and every night offers the impossible burger. There's only one night where I see pretty much only octopus, lamb, duck, and cornish hen.
  17. Does anyone know what the chair and umbrella price at Horseshoe is for this year? Trying to plan my off-ship budget for my upcoming cruise. (And also is the shuttle still $7 each way?)
  18. Ah, gotcha. It looks like a much thinner chocolate coating than I'm used to seeing. Perhaps because of the added red sugar.
  19. Uh, what happened to the strawberries?? If those are supposed to be chocolate covered, that is a fail. I hope they tasted better than they look.
