MERGED - QM2 2024 Brooklyn Revised Schedule
Lakesregion replied to TheOldBear's topic in Cunard Line
The real question that arises is why did Cunard not confirm their docking schedule with the cruise port before selling these cruises? surely the company and the ship that books first gets the space and it looks like would seem that someone else was awake and moved into what Cunard must have thought was theirs without asking. Terrible example of incompetant management. -
Absolutely and your husband can wear one also.

Go away for aweek and this thread is still pulling them in. Reminds one of an old Jane Fonda Movie. One yearns for the good old days of ship travel where there was no need to question a code as those that sailed in the first class cabins "knew" what was required of them before ever booking becasue they wore similar clothing both during the day and during their evenings both out and at home. and those traveling below the salt still wore their sunday best.

Favorite things to do on embarkation day on QM2 crossing
Lakesregion replied to steve4031's topic in Cunard Line
Since it well may be warm by then in NYC, hit the outdoor sailaway party. They should have a band to liven things up. If you are single, it is a good place and time to take an inventory of passengers that seem interesting. Most everyone will be in party mood and an offer to buy a beverage can move the week in the right direction. -
What do you do if you are away from your home computer and do not have an app capable phone, if you do not receive the boarding pass before leaving home?

Formal nights dress code - does HAL enforce?
Lakesregion replied to goforyourdreams's topic in Holland America Line
NCL runs many dress as you like cruises out of Boston. Suggest if you do not wish to be part of the HAL experience that you book with NCL. You can do an entire 12 days on NCL out of a gym bag. -
Punishment policy of back-to-back reservation cruises
Lakesregion replied to gallivanter's topic in Holland America Line
Putting the two cruises on one reservation also costs you some potentail OBC particularly if you have Carnival stock. -
Why not, you have to read and agree to about 10 pages of covid protocoll to sail to Austrlia.

I constantly read about "smart" jeans etc. Could someone please define the difference between "Smart" and "Dumb" attire.

A propr gentlemanwill always consider his significant othe when attending to events outside his own study. Too many men reduce their significant others to stand alone exhibits asthe men stagger about in their unkept appearance. They are NOT gentlemen.

You can take the man out of the cave but evidently you can not take the cave out of the man. Men with the exception of about 200 years ending in the 1960's have always distained from looking good for their significant others.

Last place you want to be is out doors at night when cruising the Amazon with the nasty bugs that can bring you a nice case of malaria or worse.

Canada must have a strong seamstress union as that much coin will wreck pants pockets.

Cash registers in the US do not have a draw for $2 bills. And for small places that require the help to make change without the assistance of a register, it would be a disaster. US folk are severely challanged when it comes to simple math.

Years ago. HAL sent out pre- cruise questionaires to guests (Solos and couples) that had requested a large table at the second seating to insure compatable tablemates. The questions covered language spoken, careers, hobbies, prior travel, general interests etc. Do they still do this? Second question not at all related but why not use the space _ Is there a church service offered on Sunday mornings?

Thanks for the prompt answers to my questions. Will bring my own bar soap as I find the pump stuff not to my liking. Good to know that one must ask for twice a day service and I will do so. Also good to know that the cabin wil be ready on arrival on board. Did an NCL last January and the lugging of carry-on bags was a drag. Only one really unanswered question. Being a bit of a belt and suspenders guy, I would not use a luggage to the ship service but a luggage to my pre cruise hotel hopefully works because if it does not show I have time to go out and buy a full wardrobe. Not possible if th bags do not show on the ship if sent directly from home. Anyone done this?
