  1. They are basically identical as far as BA vs. BA+. The sofa bed and some other furniture is different but they are mostly similar. I have a list with the bed locations if you can't get the one on deck 12 and have to select another deck. The ones with the bed near the closet also have a slightly more narrow balcony.
  2. 12358/12958 would be my first choice for a B1 on Joy. I prefer deck 12 over deck 9 even though deck 9 is slightly deeper. The view (IMO) is better. Also, I prefer the bed near the balcony which is what those 2 have. In addition, the B1s next to a Haven suite have good side view since the Haven balcony is curved away from your line of sight.
  3. There are huge differences in depth for the aft-facing balconies depending on deck as well as differences in width for balconies on the same deck. For BA/GA, the difference is larger between the deepest and the least deep. For Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore, there is still a difference between the deepest and the least deep but the difference is less. In either class, deck 9 is the deepest and deck 13 is the least deep.
  4. It was a few years ago that someone posted the following.... ...but recent dailies don't seem to have it from what I've seen.
  5. Do you really expect that MSC deck plans are 100% correct before or after the ship is built? I'd wait until actual humans have inspected the staterooms in question before booking.
  6. This used to be stated in the dailies, too. However, the crew is either selective in the enforcement or NCL has done away with the ban. I haven't seen it listed in recent dailies but maybe someone has seen it in the dailies recently.
  7. For this particular thread, the balcony is actually on the side, not forward-facing. The view forward will look like....THIS (<--click)
  8. Moderno Churrascaria - Your promo covers whatever you eat (normally a $49 cover charge). La Cucina - 1 entrée, unlimited apps, sides, desserts (your server might tell you that you are limited to 1 app/1side/1dessert). Le Bistro - Same deal as La Cucina (Additional main courses will be charged at the a la carte price listed on the menu). If there are items that have a supplement, they will be listed on the menu. For ex. crab cakes at Cagney's are an additional $5 when using the SDP. Lobster Thermador at Le Bistro is an additional $25 when using the SDP.
  9. Nobody......NOBODY understands what that thing is supposed to be. 😲
  10. I didn't want to include the "Haven connecting to non-Haven" because of the obvious issue of Haven access for some vs. for all. IF that is an acceptable option, there are also the aft-facing suites that can connect to a balcony stateroom which will sleep 4+3 or 4+4 for both the BA and BA+ ships
  11. For BA/GA, you can get a H2 (DOS w/large balcony) that connects to a HF (Courtyard Penthouse) for a total of 4+3 people.
  12. Are you sure that the 0-3 club will be available for your cruise? https://www.msccruises.com/en-gl/Discover-MSC/Family-Cruises.aspx Baby Club 0-3 Our partnership with leading baby care brand Chicco provides a dedicated play area with facilities for babies and toddlers under 3 years old. You can leave your toddlers with our MSC Babycare staff*, or stay with them and enjoy the special Chicco toys and games. They'll love our music and rhythm activities, designed to awaken their curiosity. Available on: All MSC Ships *Please note MSC Babycare (dedicated to babies and toddlers under 3 years old) will temporarily be unavailable onboard our ships.
  13. I don't believe that there are roll away beds for guests to use anymore. The inflatable air mattress idea will work. The inflated mattress can be stored under the bed in the master bedroom to avoid having to inflate it every night.
  14. I know. It took a quick second but when looking at the photo, it became clear. 😉
  15. I know that pointing out spelling errors isn't allowed on the forum but I swear that my first reaction to that post was that it was a misspelling of "clusterf*ck". 🤣
  16. There are different sizes for both standard Deluxe and Deluxe Grand YC staterooms. Something like 19025 (above) would be cool. 🙂 There is also the unique 19002 which faces forward... ..but that one seems to be harder to get. If I was interested in a Deluxe, it would depend on which Deluxe. If I was interested in a Grand, it would depend on which Grand.
  17. A plate of chocolate-covered strawberries and a bottle of sparkling wine (fake) "champagne" is probably the best that NCL will do.
  18. As a side note, I'll be taking bets as to how quickly this thread gets locked or deleted as soon as the usual topics are "debated".
  19. 15 years is a long time in ship years for the cruising world. Gem is about as old as Carnival Freedom....but without the fire. 😁
  20. I wonder what the DSC would be if 1 person chooses to sleep in the balcony stateroom.......
  21. That's why the OP's use of "sofa bed" made me think of the living room.... ...but even if that is the case, a "normal sofa" can be used for sleeping, IMO. TBH, if you throw a twin mattress on the floor, someone could sleep on it. 😉 (I still think that giving someone their own balcony room is better but if all 5 really want to share the suite...)
  22. I'm starting to think that the sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom is the problem. That one sleeps 1 or 2. If NCL removed it completely from the room and replaced it with nothing, the sleeping capacity would be 4.
  23. If that's the case, guest 5 could sleep in the pullman bed that's in the 2nd bedroom. I'm guessing that 2 (master bedroom) +3 (2 in bed, 1 in pullman above) won't work. I'm still trying to figure out how the loss of the sofa bed dropped sleeping capacity from potentially 6 to 4. EDIT Is it the sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom that is the problem? If it is, the sleeping would be 2 in master bedroom, 1 on sofa bed in living room, and 1 on the pullman in 2nd bedroom (total 4). If a basic sofa is put there, guest 5 can sleep on it. If nothing is put there, only 4 could sleep in the suite.
