  1. Anything can go bankrupt but who would want to hold a ship/ships as collateral - especially that many. Carnival will get this down. They have no more new ships on order, raise fairs some more , cut a bit more like everyone is doing and wait things out.
  2. We can agree to disagree on this Grasping at straws - I’m not sure I understand what you mean by that. The same shows run on every ship as in every broadway theater for long periods of time. That cannot be changed. The Theater not being traditional and set up lite an auditorium with chairs is not a look in my opinion. If those are straws so be it - I just hope they are biodegradable!
  3. The deals are the same on all ship - nothing better than the pre buy.
  4. And that is why every ship has many classes of rooms. The ships all go to the same place, but what people pay to go fluctuate but nobody would say that the experience in a grande suite and an inside room on the lowest deck are similar.
  5. The radiance and the panorama don’t even have proper theaters. Thy have auditorium’s with rafter seats on the side that is set up with chairs in the middle. Those theaters are a joke. Also more shows don’t necessarily mean that they’re shows of quality . More products in the store don’t make the products that much better than the store with less products. Cruises are based off of supply and demand. If one ship is newer, and has more attention than the sky would be the limit to how much they could charge for people to come on the ship I don’t believe that the new XL ships cost the same as a conquest class ship and if they do then shame on Carnival for not doing a better job, promoting their newest and brightest ships.
  6. I respectfully disagree on talent level they they are all armatures on ship - “if I want to see a broadway show….” - OKAY I was just on Freedom and their main show ‘Once upon a time” had almost 20 entertainers, the ice show had 10 skaters, while I was on the magic last year I counted no more than 8 entertainers. The shows on Royal cost more and take more to put on with so many more pieces so I may forgive them if there’s are less of them. I dont miss shows in general as I have been on enough cruises to know what they are anyways. I am never bored on a ship or hungry! Thankfully not everyone has the same taste or there wouldn’t be competition and choice.
  7. If you have been on any ship multiple times the shows are meaningless
  8. Two good shows are better than mediocre talent - no matter the length of time. Don’t forget they all do the love and marriage show and Magic/illusionist. These shows are always just a circus act at best on both lines.
  9. I have been on Royal when there is only one or two productions for 7-11 days. They fill with other shows. Excellent musical acts - Whitney Houston and Adel impersonators and other shows/comedy. I don’t believe Carnival shines in theater entertainment. Heck in their vista class and sunshined ships the theaters are pathetic and made into night clubs. Yes - wasted space if you have nothing to show in them. But we are all entitled to an opinion….
  10. I think people are forgiving of the reservations because of the caliber of the shows are higher - on the flip side the shows are always the same on the particular ships. Anthem which has been in NY for over 8 years - most people have sales multiple times and know the shows - so they may not even go. Oasis is in its second/third season and anyone who has gone on prob will not return to cats. But the water and ice show however is really special and I can see reservations being tight especially if a show is cancelled due to rocking/wind.
  11. @A&L_Ont excellent thread! I am originally from Ontario - saw the Blue Jays cap in a picture - I dont usually follow other peoples vacations. This was fantastic! I was on Freedom 3 weeks ago and you brought it back to life for me. I might have been introduced to Heidi if I was sailing with you. - Wheel of Fortune was okay until she turned on me!
  12. I think you should try drinking 15 drinks and see the outcome. Most people bunch the drinks together at one time of the day - max effect. I have never been hindered by the 15 drink limit - I have only reached it a handful of times and usually just order the drink to see the 15 on the receipt
  13. I don’t see how these ships even remotely compared besides leaving a few miles and bridges away - Oasis class ships are the destination. The shows are superb - even cats which I didn’t understand a moment of. The shows have 10-20 entertainers and orchestras in each one compared to the 6-8 Carnival has in their shows screaming into microphones that don't seem to be tuned properly and pre - recorded music on may ships. I personally have stopped going to shows on Carnival except for the comedy which they do better as there are more shows and they change the comedians on longer sailings. Oasis also has a ton of common area to walk and sit, Carnival ships have much less and in most areas especially heavy used areas are more congested. The Buffets are both congested! Carnival is a fun, not so inexpensive cruise out of NY. The product is predictable and pretty much the same from the smallest ships through the vista class ( I have not gone on an XL ship yet )The Alchemy bar is by far the best bar from any of the major lines - Celebrity Martini bar is a distant second. But out of NY the crown on Carnival is rougher than the other lines by quite a bit. The others are catching up but Carnival keeps betting worse as well. Go off season on Carnival out of NY and your experience will be much better.
  14. Hope you got you pin at least!
  15. You are hilarious. - seriously. I didn’t do the tour on Carnival but on Royal I got to keep my phone - took pictures of everything. Went into the bridge, captain came in, took pictures with his cap on while sitting in the captains big chair, walked I-95, went into medical, freezers, refrigerators, kitchen, engine room, garbage area. Don’t recall the entertainment areas, brig and didn’t get any food. I guess it all depends on their mood.
  16. These kids didn’t fall off _ maybe part of a circus act
  17. It’s going strong on Freedom
  18. If someone is hell bend on jumping there is really nothing stopping them, but on Royal and NCL the ledges are higher in the common areas. The elation has very low railings. Also Carnival doesn’t have that many more ships and if you add the others there are many more than Carnival’s total.
  19. You get a lanyard and luggage tag - If you saw on Carnival it prob wont be much different. I did this once and will pass unless I take the kids/grandkids.
