  1. The Luminosa is in drydock. It's getting the hull painted with the new design, and the stack changed to Carnival colors. The piano bar is out, and is being converted to Limelight lounge for comedy. The casino has new fruit machines, and a Red Frog bar is being fitted. New internet equipment, but no Guy's. Deck 9 aft pool is being changed to serenity with new furniture. The Spa is changing to Carnival Brands. The spa guests will no longer have an exclusive dining room. Guest cabins will have the 220v receptacle which is for Italian plugs changed to the Australian type I receptacle, and the shower curtains will be changed to the clingy style so Carnival passenger will feel at home. (just kidding about the shower)
  2. If you sit at a machine with credits on it, and insert your card, it will not allow you to play someone else's money. A key man will need to upload that to the previous players account. Like anything else, you need to watch that your balance is uploaded. Rarely there is a failure in the communication between the machine and the cage. You can re-insert your card and try again to upload, or call a key man for help. The machine won't allow anyone except the card of the player to spin the reels or even add cash to play.
  3. You actually don't need to upload your balance when finished playing a machine. Simply take the card out of the slot, and the machine will do it for you.
  4. Guy walks up to the bar and says "I'll have a piña colada." The bartender goes to work, and says "What will your husband have?" I like an XO Cognac before dinner, a Cabernet with dinner, and a Bahama Mama with a show. In the Punchliner I have a watermelon martini, because it tastes funny.
  5. I have a strict look the way policy concerning man bits.
  6. Notice it says "Premier" and not "Priority." The way they are boarding now is by groups of appointments spaced 30 minutes apart. In the Dome while the first appointments are at 10:30 am, the actual boarding does not start until after 11:30 am. Weddings and suite guests are allowed to use the gangway first, followed immediately by Diamond & Platinum, then backing them up the 10:30 appointment folks.
  7. I understand the piano bar on Costa will be converted to a limelight lounge for the funny people.
  8. The lower decks have a steel panel below the railing, however, deck 17 has a glass panel. Wind is almost nil because of a wind deflector above the railing. Deck 17 are spa cabins, and there is an elevator that takes you directly into the spa pool.
  9. I am taking Spirit through the big ditch 9/20. I was on Miracle last month and really enjoyed my bowling alley. For Spirit I selected a rear balcony to enjoy the seafoam. I am intrigued by the possibility of an art class aboard. I'll load some Bob Ross episodes on my phone, so I can brush up!
  10. In a grocery store you can buy any soda you like, and the distributors actually pay the store for shelf space. Competition is a wonderful thing. Food Service is a different animal. The major brands offer huge discounts if you give them exclusive contracts. The brand stifles competition and increases market share. The sellers make more on selling the product, and inventory logistics are simplified. The consumer gets less choice, and the price is the same. If want Coke you need to carry it on. Just like Texans did with the Dr. So much was carried on sales suffered and a concession was made.
  11. I so miss the blueberry pancakes. They were the bomb.
  12. A super club? Possibly a supper club, but I don't know where they would put the former.
  13. Things must be tough over at the balance sheet office. The wine they offered complementary on the first night cost about $3 a bottle wholesale. The wine is not important to me. The Steakhouse remains the best quality food and service anywhere.
  14. Sorry, but copies will not fly with foreign authorities. Any one who accepts a copy of a passport is as foolish has the one who made the copy. If you miss the boat you will not be on an airplane that day with a picture of your passport.
  15. I had the suite sticker on Miracle in 2017. It was needed for tender priority in Cabo.
  16. I once went to Germany with a team member. He didn't tell me he forgot his passport, but the Germans let him in with a CA driver's license. We did win the war. We drove to France scouting locations. We were going to fly to LAX from Paris. He was denied boarding, and invited to visit with the police. They asked if he had a passport, or if he entered France without one. He had his wife fax a picture of the ID page. They ran the number and it was good. He was told he had to have a passport in hand to leave France. Since the one he had was valid he could stay in a hotel rather than the Bastille. But after 3 days he would be fined each day, His wife had to FedEx it to him. The accounting manager said he was going to use that trick when he needed a few extra days in Paris. Don't worry about losing your passport. They can be replaced. Your problems could be worse if authorities ask for your passport and you say I left it on the ship.
  17. If you are American, it never a good idea to off the reservation without a passport. Outside the USA you need identification acceptable to foreign authorities. Sure some places will accept a passport card, driver's license, or tribal ID, but everywhere including the Vatican will accept a passport. Not a copy, or a picture, nope the whole book. Take it with you it is not that heavy. Those of you that travel with a birth certificate, don't need to carry it, but you do need the govt. picture ID.
  18. The pools are all heated, by the sun. They have sand filters which is the same system used by nature.
  19. I love Halloween. It is the one day a year I don't need to apologize for this face. Panorama has hundreds of adults and whole families rocking costumes.
  20. Platinum's who carry their own bags have been getting off Panorama at 8:00am. 4 times for us since March. If you are not platinum they have a room set aside for guests with "early" flights. Feet on the curb by 8:30am You should no no trouble reaching Delta in Terminal 2 for a 1:46 flight. Recently Delta has been re-arranging my flights too. I always take the first flight in the AM. Must be nonstop and a Boeing airplane. I've never missed a ship. Return flight always last flight same details. If I get bumped, what a pleasure at least a day added to my trip.
  21. Good to hear all oars are in action. I am on Spirit leaving to Miami via the ditch my great grandfather helped dig. I've never sailed out of Seattle and looking forward to it. This month we are going to AK on Miracle from San Francisco. Also a new port for us but I had two sainted uncles who lived there.
  22. I keep an eye on the excursions offered. In the past when a port was going to be changed the excursions disappeared from the web page faster than David Copperfield. They are still being sold for the Aug 22 Spirit departure.
  23. My problem with the bacon is that it does not taste good. It is the same quality you can buy in a plastic package in the grocery store. The way they cook it and serve it is the problem. Instead of using a pan or electric grill, they cook it in an oven. Then they pile it in a big pan to let it get cold. Then they serve it near room temperature.
  24. I feel sorry for the Fortune 500 CEO's as their average compensation is only about $12 million.
