Yes, we drive from Devon normally, about 3.5 hours. Normally have a check in time of 1330. I have read the other thread and am still not sure if I can arrive early as Caribbean.
OK, so I am still confused. We are Caribbean and if we have a boarding time of 13.30, can we arrive earlier and still board? It's the first time we have stayed the night before, so I'm not sure.
I Agree!! Might have a couple of hours to kill the next morning though, depending on check in time. Remind me as Caribbean do I have to stick to my given time or not?
We come from Devon, so usually use the southerly route. A30, through Dorchester etc. Having said that, we have had holdups on the M27 from the West before, but not more than half an hour. Never mind, we will go the day before. Not worth the hassle and hey another night I don't have to cook!!
God, sounds awful. I remember one stop in Dubrovnik when there were 4 ships in. It was so crowded in those little street, you could hardly move. Our ship (Fred) wasn't leaving until 10pm, so we went back ashore for a drink about 6.45 and it was just lovely. Hardly anyone around and a chap came and played the piano.
I don't go with a pessimistic frame of mind either, but both of us have been unwell from time to time on a cruise and also spend as much time ashore as we can. PAYG covers all of that. As for 15 items per day? We wouldn't be anywhere near that even with the odd coffee. Neither of us use soft drinks at all.
We have a large glass of wine in the Crows Nest before dinner and a bottle at dinner. I have the odd coffee during the cruise. We don't do soft drinks at all. Full of sugar and garbage. So we are never anywhere near the package.
We have a 3 hour drive to pick up the dog and get home. It's just so much easier to wheel your own case. We only take one each even for 19 days, plus a carry bag. We go for brekkie about 7.30 and start walking off about 8, pick up the car and on the road. As for registering, never have, just keep our luggage.
