  1. Thanks much. Should be a fun comparison. The main reason I selected Millennium for the comparison is that both ships are about the same age and Millennium has been sailing Alaska.
  2. Thanks for following along. I'm starting to get excited. The suite case is out and I'm starting to lay out stuff to be packed.
  3. Well it is time for another Adventure! We will be leaving Saturday, September 14, 2024 on our first adventure on Oceania Regatta. I will be doing a Live Post on the Oceania Thread and will post a link once I get it started. It is a difficult task to do a heads to head comparison as the two are totally different products. First up is a quick video of our Itinerary -
  4. Well I was successful and got both my Covid and Flu shot today. Unlike yesterday (first day available) with 100's on line, today there was Zero line and I was in and out in about 3 minutes.
  5. Mike - I've had Goa before in while in Greece. I would say it is rather like Lamb in taste. I would expect like Lamb that the important part is that it is young or may be like mutton.
  6. The crew will happily accept anything they receive. They can have it converted and applied to their onboard account. BTW - For most positions the person you give it to are required to turn it in to the pool for all staff members in the particular pool. . e.g. Dining Room Pool, Room Attendant Pool, Bar Tender Pool.
  7. Yes... we have no problem with availability of Costco's. Within 10 miles of our house we have 4 Costco's - I probably go to the one on Lawrence Expressway - One thing that is interesting is that many people assume all Costco's carry the same product. All of them carry many of the same basic product but they each tune their offering to the demographics of the customers. The Costco in Fremont (near where I worked) has a large middle eastern population and often have things like a 1/2 of a Goat. I definitely took a double take first time I saw one in a shopping cart.
  8. Personally I tip $5 per bag to the curb side porter who take you bags. Would of course use Pounds if sailing out of UK We maintain our automatic gratuities on the ship and tip extra if someone provides above and beyond. If they do no more than just their job we do not tip extra. The people we usually tip -- Our Room Attendant, Butler, Waiter and Assistant Waiter and Sommelier. We tip in the range of $5-10 per day for those that earn extra gratuities.
  9. Also most of the time B2B's are invited to the lunch.
  10. No with the exception of Royal Suite and above. If you are a Captain's Club Member Elite get one free bag of wash and fold Elite+ Two free bags of wash and Fold and Zenith have unlimited laundry and dry cleaning.
  11. We personally don't usually buy Duty Free Liquor usually just bring home the Unopened Free bottles we receive as part of an Upper Suite perk. I did however notice that often on Celebrity they have a 2 Liter Bottle Special on Grey Goose at $60 . The Pre-Sales Tax (9.25% where I live)price at Costco is $57.09 (= $64.50 with Tax) for a single bottle, so if we were purchasing it would indeed be cost effective to purchase Duty Free.
  12. I've had the same experience and it magically popped back in my account a couple days later.
  13. You do not need to fill in Passport information to get to the time slot you will have to go through a couple screens though. With the app you can just select the CheckIn time and then can come back at any time to complete. The CheckIn time (date) will show on both the App and on the WebPage showing the exact date it will open. It is based on 12:01 AM departure Port time zone
  14. You are 100% correct. I wasn't aware they were Zenith by Status Match.
  15. Good reason to use a Travel Agent. One text and it is handled. BTW for most issues you should be able to contact by sending them a message on Twitter.
  16. In my experience, immediately. I have alerts setup on my phone and usually get an Alert as soon as they zero out the ship. BTW they usually do a daily hold in the amount of gratuities to your account. I also get alerts for these.
  17. Congratulations on hitting Zenith. I would recommend that you call the Zenith Desk, the number is in your membership pack. You will normally have your Zenith Initiation Celebration on the Bridge and would be good to remind them this is your first cruise since hitting Zenith. You can invite a reasonable number of guests to celebrate with you. Recently Mario on Edge was a perfect Host and arranged meet and greet with a competition and arranged a Hula Greeting
  18. While none of us know the exact nature of the Dry Dock. I do not believe they will. It is only a 2 week which I suspect will be predominantly for their 3 year maintenance and recertification. Usually they clean and paint the hull as well as the entire ship. They often also replace carpeting and worn soft goods. Some of the bedding may also be replaced. When previously on Silhouette (in an Upper Suite) the ship had gone through revolution and they had both the Power Box with USB's as well as a USB on one side of the bed and a USB in the lamp on the other side.
  19. You can probably get that information by calling FBC and ask what the fare code is. When you search on FBC there are up to 4 columns for fares. Basic Economy Economy Plus Business Class First Class It is important to first understand what is available. Most fares on FBC are Refundable Fares and thus can be more expensive than you can book on your own. As an example I just checked SFO-BCN for our November Cruise. The cheapest Business Class on FBC is $6,000 per person. - you will notice on this one way quoe it Shows Basic Economy with 1 bag, Economy Plus with 2 bags or Business Class. I use flights.google.com to search and price flights. They are not a booking site or agency they just show rates. You can also set alerts to track a specific flight. For the Same date different airlines but the cheapest Business class flight $1,280 (mixed rate) First Class on Alaska to Boston and Business Class Azores Airways No right or wrong but I would book a Business Class direct as oppose to Economy Plus on FBC.
  20. We used the Uber App and booked We used Uber X for a price of 18.99 Euros They also allow you to boo a Taxi --- cost was 30 Euros.
  21. Yes the Stockholders Benefit is available on RCL, Celebrity and SilverSea.
  22. The advantage of all upgrade is the Room, Luminae, Retreat and amenities that come with the Suite Class you win. These details are clearly stated in the FAQ before you bid
  23. Agree and I guess we and O will see if their strategy works or whether customers start shifting to competitors. We are booked out through 2025 and early 2026 so will see how the competition plays out over the next 6 months to a year. Celebrity's similar policy lost us as a 23 year dedicated upper suite cruiser. We have given up on one way Loyalty programs and will be booking by itinerary, price and total package of services. Easiest enough to stick the numbers into a spreadsheet.
  24. My agent applies the OBC upfront off the total fare. Works well for me. Otherwise I'm sure your agents will apply it to a different area at your request
