  1. In the case of Civitavecchia I have always used Stefano's RomeCab for over 10 years. https://www.romecabs.com/
  2. Thanks --- I will send him a Text on Monday. I'm they type that usually does most of my planning myself and only use our TA for the extra perks. I will have to get use to using him more for things like this. I've just never had a cruise line cancel a port and not immediately also cancel and credit back any excursions that were booked.
  3. I'm also new to Oceania but when I look at the Itinerary you posted not sure how much of a night owl you may be. It is a very port intensive itinerary and both you and others may be quite worn out after a long day in port and then dinner. While we are outside your target audience, we are European and will never dine until the latest time available to still be let into the restaurant. Personally we know that Oceania will be different than other (we are also new Oceania cruisers) but thought we would try it out and see if it's a fit for us.
  4. I'm on the same cruise. This is our first Oceania cruise and finding a negative with Oceania. We had a rather expensive excursion planned that cost us additional than our OBC. Now I find there is no way to cancel and rebook something else. So far Oceania has not cancelled the excursion and refunded so I guess I will have to call in on Monday. Just seems logical to a non-Oceania veteran that if you cancel a port and excursion it would automatically be refunded. Does Oceania usually have a long wait time when you call in.
  5. Just got an email from Oceania that they had substituted a small town, Klawock, Alaska for Wrangell, Alaska. We had an expensive Excursion booked using both OBC and personal funds. At this point there are Zero excursions listed for Klanwock (not much there) and they have not cancelled our excursions. Will I need to call Oceania to sort this out or will they automatically refund since the port was cancelled. The cruise is not until September 2024.
  6. They only transfers I've know from Ravenna is to Venice. Ballona is the closest airport but not sure if they also offer shuttles there.
  7. I think I get more excited at 45 days prior to the cruise when CheckIn opens.
  8. The only current ships with T-Pool are the M-Class ships.
  9. We did a B2B in December on Edge - December - They did the B2B processing on-board instead of using a Transit Pass. This was the 2nd half of the World Cruise so there were a large number of B2B's. For Suites they did it in Eden and was very quick. Just sat down - an agent come over did the normal check in using a Pad. Went into the backroom and came back with our new seapasses. Non-Suite Cruiser - There was a line of about 500 that were being processed in one of the MDR's not sure how long that took. Once we were process we were free to depart the ship. There was another option that you could go ashore as early as 7:00 AM and do your B2B checkin at the pier on your return. All B2B's had to be off the ship by about 9:15 and could not return to the ship until general boarding began around 11 AM. I think we left the ship about 8:30. Just walked off. Since we had already cleared immigration on our first port of entry into Australia we just walked past Customs who just waved us through. We were in no rush. We were meeting friends of ours who live in Sydney but had been on the first leg with us. We were meeting them up at the at Art Gallery NSW to view a couple exhibitions and then have lunch Crafted by Matt Moran (Rated best restaurant in Sydney 2* Michelin). We had plenty of time to walk around Sydney and up to the Botanic Gardens before meeting for lunch. Our cruise was departing at 5:00 PM and we didn't have to rush to get back to the ship by 3:30. Once back to the Terminal we just flashed our sea pass and they directed us around the checkin process. At that point I thing there was more staff than passengers.
  10. Have done many TA and all have had Beyond the Podium speakers. The norm is at least two and topics are varied. We had one who had been a high ranking staffer at NASA and spoke of the space program. He even did a private presentation in Retreat. Well attended. Also had one who had been White House a Social Secretary of the White House Social Office. Spoke of the various First Ladies and everything from the various parties and challenges. Never been disappointed and many of them pack the theater daily. Luckily they are also recorded so they can be watched in your stateroom if you missed one.
  11. Well it is nicer than trailer trash. I've never sailed Carnival or MSC but often hear the term Carnival 2.0
  12. That is the one reason we struck them off the list of potential replacement for Celebrity.
  13. Like mentioned above it is rare for the ship to stay on Ship's Time vs Local Time . One that comes to mind is Newfoundland which has a 1/2 hour time zone. Really was confusing as we had a private tour so one of us kept a watch on ship time and the other land time.
  14. I'll see if I now receive anything. For me I stopped receiving communications from them some time in 2024. I did receive the invites for December.
  15. There are currently two Live Reviews of Celebrity Cruisers that are currently on MSC. @DaKahuna and @JamieLogical. Will be interested to read all three comparisons. We each have our own perspective of a cruise.
  16. They were doing status match, but not sure I've seen mention of it as of late. I don't remember reading anything on what that status gave you. I thought YC was equivalent to Retreat Status and only available by type of room book, but I have Zero knowledge of YC
  17. Most cruises will have between 1-3 Chic nights. EVENING CHIC Each itinerary features one to two “formal” nights we call Evening Chic. Evening Chic means you dress to impress, glamorous and sophisticated in your own way, with a cocktail dress, skirt, slacks, or designer jean, an elegant dress top or blazer—some guests even pack a tuxedo or gown for onboard photos. The Daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening. If you do not wish to participate in Evening Chic, Smart Casual attire is acceptable for dining and theater. https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/onboard-dress-code
  18. I've done it before and it may be possible and you may have to pay a fine and a processing fee. You need to call Celebrity and they have to check regulations and port customs and immigration availability. A fine may apply if they approve and you are violating the Cabotage. Not knowing your full itinerary, the problem may be that the Canadian Port of Victoria (if your only Non-US Port) may be your required the required Foreign Port under the Cabotage Act.
  19. John - I was reading on @JamieLogical description of disembarkation in Cartegena today. Does YC give Suite Passengers priority embarkation like Celebrity? I didn't recall is Jamie is traveling in YC but was surprised them having to get tickets.
  20. Yes just click on the link from your original bid and choose Cancel or if Choose you can also modify. Both are available up until expiration or awarded a move-up
  21. Learn something new every day. I'm not a big Gambler but somehow reached Onyx, a Zenith and a Suite Guest so wasn't sure why I had never been charged.
  22. Like many others I stopped receiving Power Up and Move-Up communications approximately 2 months ago. Today I contacted Celebrity via X (Formerly Twitter). They looked into may account and indicated I had changed my settings (which I had not done). "Thank you! Upon reviewing your account we see you had turned off the notification for you not to receive our emails. We have now activated it back and you will now receive the move-up emails and Power Up Points activities when available."
  23. Yikes.... I just found your Live Post. I was reading your comments on @JamieLogical post. Since I don't follow MSC regularly didn't realize you had your own. I'm speed reading and hope to get caught up.
  24. There have been about 1/2 dozen posts about the Butlers returning. I is complete on a couple ships and is rolling out fleet wise. Suppose to be complete, I believe by end of March. Some of the delay is getting some of their butlers back that have been reassigned or are no longer on ships.
