  1. David what are those things on the table? --- At first I thought they were a cookie but surely they wouldn' be putting them on the table. Then I thought they were coasters but there are 9 of them.
  2. They have dropped them and have also discontinued the roving photographers and photographers at the ports. Now the have a couple Green Screens set up and and you select a background if you purchase a picture. They do have really expensive photo shoot packages.
  3. That's a really tough one to plan. University Spring break is all over the place. This site lists Spring Break Schedules https://www.inertiatours.com/spring-break-2024-dates/
  4. I have a beautiful black on black Versace Tuxedo that I've only worn once and really looking forward to wearing it. It is so comfortable I hardly feel I have a jacket on. OK --- I'm a rebel --- I doubt I will be wearing a Black Tie. I have about 30 to pick from.
  5. Of course -- when you are a small eater you must prioritize things. Do they have ice cream somewhere on the ship besides the restaurants.
  6. Definitely.... I was referencing reading on iPhone or TV the day before or morning of dining to see what was on the menu. I sometimes like to take a peek at deserts to figure out what I would order to leave enough room.
  7. Ahh wish you could join us.... We now have two booked. To me it seems like a steal. The one for October 2024 was only about $8,500 (for both of us) in Queens Grill. I would consider Queens Grill equivalent to SS. Princess Grill similar to Aqua. Understand your remark now. We will be pulling out our Tux as well as Sport Jackets for regular nights. It seems that Jackets and collared shirts are the norm for "casual" night - Black Tie or Dark Suite for Formal nights. The theme for the second formal night is Costume i.e. masked ball (Tux with a mask if you choose to participate).
  8. Honestly I've been on 6 cruises in the past year. On our Australia / New Zealand everyone was so casual we didn't bother with our regular Jacket and Bow Tie on Chic nights. I felt very well dressed with slacks and a Tommy Bahama shirt. Jeans or Chino's and a collared ***** (including a collard golf shirt) are kinda the norm. Not judging but seeing a rather large older man in Bib Overalls and a 5 gallon hat seemed a little too relaxed. He was asked to remove his hat - Points for the Maitre'd Remember - Dress Code as posted on Celebrity Site - Specialty Restaurants (Including Luminae for our Suite Class guests and Blu for our AquaClass® Guests) The dress code in Celebrity's Specialty Restaurants is Smart Casual for every night of your cruise. Evening Chic attire is only required in the main dining room on your “Evening Chic nights.”
  9. You must have been. We did Daniel B's first dinner and he both ran the show but also signed our books prior to presenting them. For some reason they don't know what to do with a male couple and we got two of them. The waiter told us to leave them and he would have them delivered to our room. As Charla said... they are heavy and we had to put on in our hand luggage. Charla- love the pictures. They definitely stepped up the presentation.
  10. I believe you can either call in and upgrade per-cruise or just wait until on the ship and just click a single button while creating your on-boar account.
  11. If you thank the Dress Code debate can be entertaining you should check out the Cunard board. I was chuckling reading a thread where there was a heated debate on whether it was ok in a hot climate to take off ones jacket while or after dancing. There's also a great 5 page long debate when someone asked if her husband would be ok in a light grey suite in lieu of a tuxedo. My mind went immediately Hyacinth Bucket of Keeping up Appearances. What can I say, I'm taking my first Cunard cruise in October.
  12. Thanks... First they remove the larger OBC and Gratuities and now they make them non-refundable. No Thanks.. Has anyone ever heard the expression? SHOOT YOUR SELF IN THE FOOT. Just another reason for my defection from Celebrity after 23 years.
  13. No need to purchase in advance. Once on the ship, 2hen you create your account it will show both the Free Minutes or the Internet packages with your discounted prices already applied with option of Classic or Premium. Just click on which you want.
  14. Almost always I book aboard and then transfer to my agent and receive aprox. 9% additional OBC. Of course I am not expecting my agent to combine with a group sailing. Just curious if you find Group Rates lower than 9% - When I first started sailing the group rates I received were in the 5% range. I really haven't looked in years.
  15. Could you provide the source of your statement. I purchased 2 on Edge in December and the booking form clearly states where one signs - * To be eligible for the Onboad promotion of up to $500 OBC, I have 6 months to pick a ship and sailing date. * After 6 months I will no longer be able to take advantage of the onboard offer * If I don not pick a ship and sailing date within 6 months of booking , my deposit will be refunded.
  16. Touch down... that's our favorite place. I think they have been there for 50 years. I'm drooling. I actually didn't remember the name but know where it is on 46th Avenue and Judah.
  17. A good rule of thumb all other things being equal, if you are affected by motion sickness the center of the ship both floor number and forward aft will be the fulcrum point and least movement. The higher the floor and the more forward or aft will feel more Pitch movement. Roll (side to side movement) will be felt regardless of forward or aft but less pronounced on middle floors.
  18. You are correct. I was surprised that it was not available on Edge after dry dock. Not sure if it was ever enabled on her.
  19. Same down here. Was really late this year. I have yet to have one. My favorite is a place in the Sunset with an incredible Garlic Crab.
  20. I also got mine. About 7 days after many reported they started receiving theirs.
  21. It varies by cruise. Best to do a mock booking and click the button for the Always Included (be aware it no longer includes tips) also the OBC have been dramatically reduced). It will quickly show the cost For our Hawaii to Vancouver - 11 night - below is the Veranda price average per person with and without
  22. I would go ahead and book if you reasonably feel that you will be taking the cruise (over 50/50). If the price drops before final payment you can call in or call your agent and have them apply the price reduction (no charge). The cost of $200 to change the booking to a different is fare less expensive than paying the non-refundable fare. If the risk is high I would consider booking using a refundable fare and then cancel and rebook using the non-refundable fare closer to final payment date ( but you risk the price going up).
  23. I appreciate your comments. We will not be sailing Oceania for the first time until September. One of the main reason we are looking for different cruise lines is after 23 years with Celebrity we find much of the same as you describe in Luminae (their Suites Only Dining Room). I've found that it often depends on the Chef. We were on on cruise and every Fish and Chicken dish was like eating road kill. The MD would even go back and supervise the chef a couple nights and the Chicken was perfect but then returned to road kill. The second cruise of a B2B that chef left the ship and his replacement delivered every dish to perfection.
  24. In my last life (pre-retirement) I use to do Consulting in ERP Order Management Software and was managing an install at Dairygold in Seattle. I would fly in on Sunday nights and come home on Friday. I have some very fond memories of Seattle. My apartment on Ellis over looked Pier 66. Wonderful views and I never pulled my drapes. One morning I cam out of the shower only to discover a Cruise Ship parked in my living room. I had to crawl across the floor to pull my shades.
