  1. DH sometimes brings a blazer for exactly this reason.
  2. I also see the 5 points in history but my total hasn't changed- I have a little sticky in my vacation planning notebook where I keep track of my climb to Elite+. Hopefully this will right itself in a few days.
  3. Was on a river cruise with lots of coughing and many complaining of "bad cold". When it finally hit us we tested (with our own tests) and started paxlovid (which we had brought). Called the desk to inform them and was told, "You have no restrictions, we treat this as the flu now". We masked and took food back to our cabin etc. I feel sorry for their staff who are constantly exposed in very close quarters.
  4. Thank you for sharing your wonderful picture album! You must have been up very early (or late) to get so many fabulous pictures of the venues without people in them. Now, thanks to you, I know what the inside of the gym looks like. We are sailing on the Silhouette in the spring and I appreciate you giving us such a great pre-view.
  5. I know we will as well; we actually refer to Elte+ as the "Al Bacio Level"...only 148 points away.
  6. Thank you for this information. I am very happy to have this opportunity to earn 5 points as we inch our way towards Elite+!
  7. I was skimming your post too quickly and read it as Loon of the Seas 🤣
  8. I asked at Bacio on our last cruise and they told me I could purchase a glass...
  9. Have a great cruise...I'm already enjoying it vicariously. We really like the older ships and understand that they are a little worn- but so are we, so that's ok!
  10. Thank you for taking us along on your Thanksgiving cruise! I have sailed the Summit many times in the distant past and she sure looks great in your photos! Having never sailed in the Retreat I am really enjoying your photos and commentary (living vicariously). Hope you have a great time!
  11. We are the same, we enjoy music in the other venues and the occasional comedian but not the production shows. We always feel a little awkward when dinner companions rave about "last night's show" or ask if we are going tonight but that's the great thing about a cruise, there is something for (nearly) everyone.
  12. We have been actively avoiding booking that class because of the balcony/veranda situation. I know we are missing lots of innovations on beautiful ships but this is what we choose for now.
  13. I really enjoyed your travels via the beautiful pictures and narration. You have reminded me that I need to bump Sicily up in my bucket-list queue.
  14. Nothing to add to the discussion, just wanted to say what a smile it gives me when I see your name, Shiba_Lover, on these boards. We had a very dear Shiba and those dogs will always hold a special place in my heart.
  15. Same thing happened to us after recent cruise...easily fixed with a phone call so that we can continue our quest for al Bacio level.
  16. When we were planning our first cruise (back in the mid 90's) the TA asked which was more important to us, entertainment or food...we answered food and she put us on Celebrity. I think she hit the nail on the head with that question.
  17. They usually have a person set up just inside the entrance to the restaurant (if I am recalling correctly) and when you show up they escort you (or call someone to escort you) down to the exit. There is no priority for getting a tender back to the ship.
  18. I was "scolded" by a very young waiter in one of the other bars for ordering a mojito but the guys in the sky lounge, where we usually go, will make it for me? I think it depends on the bar (and the waiters who know you will tip them).
  19. Shhh, we don't want them to charge us for the "Introduction to Better Wines" class we are getting.
  20. Every time I read about disappearing luggage I am grateful for the small investment we made in air tags. Yesterday I read a review about a hotel that delivered luggage to an unoccupied room and the couple had to view cctv to figure out where their luggage was.
  21. Or wait ~30 minutes between courses as was our experience on Equinox recently.
  22. https://cloud.na.celebritycruises.com/GOGREEN_OPTIN
  23. We do this every cruise (when I remember to sign up for the program ahead of time) and also have not seen a difference. I wish it were a preference that we could set in our profile.
  24. We have booked it a number of times when the price difference was negligible. In addition to the extra points. the embarkation lunch and other little things you get priority on tenders. This is nice when you have a non-Celebrity excursion booked allowing you to get off when you want. On Equinox in August our steward had the bubbly chilling in the fridge when we arrived and the canapés were better than usual (or we are becoming less discriminating).
  25. We had it offered to us one night on Equinox recently - I do not believe there was a charge but none of us ordered it so can't be positive.
