I agree with all the positive points mentioned in previous posts...it is a charming, unique experience with delicious food. Another thing that I really appreciated was the QUIET atmosphere. It was very relaxing, almost spa-like, to dine in a darkened room with none of the ambient noise you have in the larger dining venues.

They did not on our Reflection TA this fall.😞

Thanks for this good advice.

old Captains Club points....retrievable?
cruisegirlppp replied to grest's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We had this issue for an early cruise on the Meridian, which was later sold. I had a picture of us in front of the ship clearly showing the name and after providing that to CC we were awarded the points (however pitiful they may have been). -
For me, the welcome lunch is the best part of Concierge. I like starting the cruise with a sit down meal rather than trying to fend for myself in the hustle and bustle of the OV on day one (i'm old and short and feel that I get lost in a sea of elbows). If it was possible to book a specialty lunch for Day 1, as we have done on RC, that would probably be a good revenue item for Celebrity.

I noticed on our last Celebrity cruise that they had done away with the special tea "event" for Elite and above. We really enjoyed that (after I convinced my husband to give it a try) and was sorry to see it eliminated.

Exactly this! Just booked my first Viking cruise and am receiving beautiful Oceana brochures. Have been sailing with Celebrity since the mid 90's and think our upcoming cruise may be the last with them.

I put down a $100 cruise anytime deposit while on our March 2020 cruise (and you know how that story turned out). When we resumed cruising last year I took the certificate to the Cruise Planning people onboard to see if I could apply the money to next booking. She looked in her system and because the prior cruise had been booked (by my friend) through a TA the money went to them and not Celebrity and she could not access it. I don't know if this is helpful but I certainly learned something.

Thank you for doing this review! We are doing this cruise in March (reverse direction) and I especially appreciate the information about you excursions. -
I recently had two calls with wait times over an hour (first one I finally gave up and called back)- no option for call back.. Ridiculous that a phone call is required to purchase something and receive CC status discount.

Vaccines and testing now required on some sailings

We did as well in Barcelona. i think this passenger was somehow able to talk their way around the requirement for a proctored test. -
Vaccines and testing now required on some sailings

For TA in October the instructions were very clear that we needed a supervised test, which we had done prior to embarkation. Imagine my surprise to meet a fellow cruiser on board who just presented a photo of a self administered test. -
Specialty Restaurant Help on Reflection
cruisegirlppp replied to W283386's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We have done some specialty restaurants in the past but generally DH is not a foodie (more a big portion guy) and happy to eat in MDR. On the Reflection TA this year they offered a great discount for Le Petit Chef and others at our table recommended it. To my surprise he loved the whole experience and I see us doing this on future cruises. Moral of the story- you won't know what you might like unless you try something new. -

Is it possible to post the link...I have searched my email and did not get this one (though I have gotten them in the past??) -
We had Captain Matt for our TA on Reflection- best captain ever!

Trying to figure out what stops need a shore excursion.
cruisegirlppp replied to Stockjock's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Agree, the Akrotiri ruins were special, so glad we did that excursion. -
We were on Reflection in November and they had the buffet. I love this breakfast because the same wait staff is there every day and it feels very personalized. If you have an unusual coffee order the first day you will be offered the same for the next 11 days (whipped cream atop my espresso).

We are also Elite and bring ones to tip the servers as they deliver the "free" drinks. Started to run low on recent cruise and was able to get replenished at GS without a problem.

Nothing is Free - Blue Chip "Free Verandah" Offer

Exactly what has been going through my mind...after, "wait a minute- they are giving away free cruises?!?" -
Thank you, somehow I missed the fact that we both get a bag...ahhh the luxury of 2 bags!!

We did the full transit on Celebrity in 2018 and had a speaker who grew up in the Canal zone, He gave lectures and did a narration as we went through the locks...it was fascinating.
