  1. Thank you for that very helpful chart, we will be elite+ after next cruise so it looks like it would be better to switch then.
  2. I know I have seen mention of Celebrity loyalty status being recognized on some other lines (aside from RC). Does anyone have this information?
  3. We were able to get it changed by calling the Captains Club line (1-844-418-6824) and speaking to a representative...I don't know if we were lucky but I hope this works for you.
  4. We have been sailing with Celebrity since the the mid 90's so we have seen many changes throughout the years but none have been as jarring as this current crop of cuts with price increases. I really think they have targeted a different demographic. We have one more cruise booked with Celebrity for Scandinavia next year, but in the meantime we are trying Viking and may cancel the Celebrity one.
  5. Exactly, it let you know you were back on Celebrity!
  6. Thank you for this great tip...do you do the mock booking incognito or signed in through the site?
  7. We were on Equinox last week (end of August) and I went down to Al Bacio to check out the bubbly situation- they offered me a glass to be charged to my sea pass card!!! It's not a big thing but just indicative of the general trend. The service in the MDR was very, very slow- our waiters were working hard to serve the tables but the food just wasn't coming out of the kitchen. On the plus side we got chocolates every night and the afternoon canapes were better on this cruise than others. We enjoyed ourselves but, as others have noted, the experience has changed.
  8. IMHO, this is the most succinct, and accurate, summary of the difference in the loyalty programs.
  9. We were on a RC TA once when the machine in the diamond lounge broke beyond on-board repairability so for the rest of the cruise we could order our specialty coffees at any of the other venues. Very nice way to handle what could have been a problem.
  10. My husband will be evaluating the chocolate croissants on our upcoming cruise while I will be making sure the almond croissants are edible... both of us will do quality control on the lemon tarts!
  11. Every time I read posts about BCC offers I genuinely wonder, how much time/money would I need to spend in the casino to receive one of these? In the distant past my husband spent time at the black jack table while I did my donations at the roulette wheel- is this the type of thing that would be tracked now-a-days?
  12. I would pay good money to have the option of a sit down lunch on embarkation day. Being elbowed out of the way by people a lot bigger, taller and pushier than I am is not how I like to start my cruise!
  13. My husband once went to one and he is still asking me to, "finish his steak with butter"!!
  14. We are further away than you. I must confess I don't really know how points for cruises are calculated, just that I need more!
  15. They are non-combinable 😞. Using Elite discount saved a little money compared to flash sale.
  16. I called Celebrity before reading your post and that is exactly what I was told. You can purchase at the flash sale price OR with your loyalty discount, they are not combinable. For a minute there I thought I had found a real bargain!
  17. Not if you have a dust mite allergy. While anyone can experience irritation from dust mites those with an allergy have a reaction. After you have maximized your protection at home you don't want to have issues while on vacation!!
  18. Same here, though we call it the El Bacio level.
  19. Has anyone been successful in getting check in time changed so that you don't miss this lunch?
  20. This is my plan for up-coming quickie cruise....can you recall the cost to purchase internet on board?
  21. Came here to say this! Did one eastbound and did not enjoy the shortened days and cold weather upon arrival.
  22. I agree. Though, as previously mentioned, you would have more time on a land based tour we were so uncomfortable in the heat that the time allotted for touring the site on the Celebrity tour turned out to be just fine.
  23. Just another data point- I called Celebrity (Captains Club) yesterday about a booking that wasn't showing up....waiting time was estimated at 8 minutes and was actually about 15. I spoke with a very pleasant, efficient, representative who was able to see (and reassure me about) my reservation AND move my dining time. She even checked on a question I had about credit for past cruises. This representative could not have been more helpful to me.
