  1. Thank you for letting me know. Now that I have seen pictures of them from Hoopster and Twangster, the lead singer looks very familiar. They were great. Beautiful
  2. It doesn’t cost me anything and I always charge my RCCL cruises, excisions and anything I purchase from them on it and periodically other things, so I agree, the onboard credit has been nice.
  3. @3red7s The above sounds like a good hotel, but if you want to look for others, sign into something like Expedia and put in Galveston. Just keep in mind RCCL has it’s new terminal, but the old one is still in use so if being close to the terminal is important to you, make sure pick a hotel close to the RCCL Terminal. Galveston has a variety of hotels and none of them are real far from the terminal, but you would need to Uber to the port in many cases, depending on your capabilities and how far away you are, but I usually stay with my nephew in Houston so I get to visit with him when I get down there. I love cruising out of Galveston. Enjoy your cruise!
  4. I have never gotten enough points for a cruise, but I don’t exclusively use this card. I do onboard credit as well, for purchases, casino, gratuity, what ever works. 5000 points will get you $50.00 in on board credit.
  5. Do you know how long they will be onboard? Thank you Same question. Do you know how long they will be onboard, or is it only for this cruise? Thank you
  6. I haven't yet, but I am going to spend some additional time in the casino's on my next 2 trips and who know, maybe I will also get an offer. From what others are saying here, it does not sound like a bad deal for @alezal32 even if he can't match point for now.
  7. I have read where people have been charged and others not. We bring a small wine bottle opener in our checked luggage and just fill our glasses in our room and don't worry about it. You can ask your room steward to bring wine glasses, or ask at one of the bars for them as you are headed to your room.
  8. @velocepede I would try asking someone in the windjammer for avocado as I have seen them serve avocado toast in the morning and tacos in the afternoon with guacamole as a side. The worst they can tell you is no they don’t have it is cruise. As for evoo again ask windjammer/dining staff if you want to wait until on board. You could also try emailing RCCL about your dietary needs before you cruise. I cannot remember who you would email, but someone on CC will probably post it, otherwise call RCCL and ask who to email.
  9. @twangster I just think of Gillian’s Island every time I read “an 8hour tour”. Although I think Gillian’s was a 3 hour tour. Thanks for the pictures. I think Iceland might have to go on my bucket list.
  10. Keep an eye on the salmon ladder. There was a seal that jumped up the ladder and then back down again when I went. The crab legs were crazy expensive last year.
  11. @binro01 Quantum seems to have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to Skagway. I heard it had something to do with the number of ships in port on the day Quantum is scheduled to be in port, but I do not know if that is correct or not. I did enjoy my whale watching in Icy Strait however. The Dungeness crab was just meh in my opinion. People seemed to enjoy the snow crab however. Enjoy!
  12. @mandyleighflies I for one am glad you let us know you were posting as I have followed you before and have enjoyed your posts. I will need to read up about the ship and cruise line after I get off of Freedom however as I am cruising with family on a 4 night starting 6/3. Enjoy your cruise and time with your friend.
  13. Nice find. Should work great for Alaska. I took this same excursion last August and loved it. Thanks for the memory.
  14. @3red7s So glad to see a current great review for Lady G. I was on her 2 years ago, had a great time and absolutely loved her. As for reviews, I try and take them with a grain of salt and have never been disappointed in a Royal ship/crew. Glad you had a great time.
  15. That's what I keep thinking, when doing this comes up.
  16. @KmomChicago I am coming late to the party. Keep watching for options for the Northstar and Ripcord throughout the days. I am a Chicago suburb native and tend to stick with the suburbs, but love many aspects of downtown although I have not gone for quite awhile. I have good memories of the museums, Navy pier in the summer and going down with a friend who hot walked polo ponies at the Chicago Armory (many years ago). You always hear about the bad, but there is so much good that you do not hear about. Enjoy your cruse. Alaska is beautiful. Take plenty of pictures, but also take time to just absorb and enjoy it!
  17. I was lucky enough to do a land trip to Alaska 25ish years ago and then cruise on Radiance last August. Loved Alaska, but would love to cruise Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier so will definitely be following along. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. I am so sorry to hear this. Condolences to his family.
  19. Thanks for the live review. I am on the July 5th cruise and will be following along.
