  1. This is on my bucket list as well, so I will be following along. In 2003, I sailed into and then back out of Gatun Lake, round trip from Galveston on Splendor of the seas, but have never gone all of the way thru. Love, love Radiance, she is one of my favorite ships. I sailed on her again last August, for an Alaska cruise . Enjoy your cruise!
  2. @LadyZolt Thank you for all of the pictures and information regarding the locations you are at. I hadnโ€™t been on in a while and have enjoyed them.
  3. @Thejuggler & @hallasm Thank you for the great tips. I also would have been out much later than I should be. Now I know better๐Ÿ™‚ @hallasm Thank you for the video. I will be on the Jewel early July 2024 for the Arctic Circle Cruise. @BuckeyeMark Thanks for posting the questions. I have been researching and watching tube video's, I continue to find useful info.
  4. We were on Allure and had a Central Park Balcony on deck 11. We loved it and had no issues with noise, but I personally did miss the ocean at times. In the evening listening to the music and sitting out in the morning when we ordered breakfast was very nice.
  5. I donโ€™t think I have ever seen a western caribbean cruise that did not stop in Cozumel. I would think they are looking at maximum usage to pay for it, and profits.
  6. I will be on in July. Booked thru Air to Sea as mentioned. $29.95 per person when I booked.
  7. We had a mother with their maybe 9 or 10 year old daughter near us and even after the announcement that it would not be appropriate for kids she did not leave. After a bit when the bra's and such started to come off and out, she grabbed her kid and took off like a pelican. I guess she had never been to a quest before and did not believe what was said and thought she new better than those running it.
  8. Years ago, I played one of these machines. I put in more than I got out of it, but they are a bit additive. I stay away from them now. Instead what little I do play, I loose in the video poker machines, and once in a very small while I win a bit.๐Ÿ˜œ
  9. I am interested in what you think about the 3 piece set if you think to comment. I ordered them for my great nieces.
  10. Agree with @firefly333, just call. We did that already once, and reduced by a good amount, and just a few days ago, changed from an ocean view, to a spacious ocean view balcony for less than we originally booked a year ago, so even if you change now, keep looking for a better deal.
  11. I agree with all of the above. Packing layers and wet gear like a water proof inexpensive poncho is essential. Several pairs of shoes unless you have waterproof so a pair can dry out and you have another to wear. I sailed last August 18th and had great weather ( I was very lucky). A few time I just wore my T or my Jersey shirt, but for a good part of the time I wore a light long sleeved thermal shirt, with a t-shirt over it and was comfortable. By Hubbard glacier, I had on a long sleeved light thermal, t-shirt, Royal Jersey and a down vest and a hat. I was out for quite a while in front of the ship and on the sides of Radiance and I was comfortable. Had the same when I went whale watching in Icy Strait but had one of the layers plus the water proof poncho in my day pack. I don't like to be cold. I use a day pack to carry additional layers if removed, or put on if I was cold. Keep in mind, because you wear layers, you will wear some of the cloths multiple times (for me it was my t-shirts and Jersey shirts. I had 2 of the long sleeved thermals, and washed out the armpits and hung to dry, while I was wearing the other, so you might not need as many as you might think. There are some very good Alaska packing videos on utube. I watched several different people and picked out what I thought would worked for me. Alaska is awesome, enjoy your cruise!
  12. Good idea! I use packing/compression cubes, and if rain is scheduled when I am to fly and or on boarding day, I put the packing cube/compression cubes in 30 gallon trash bags inside my suitcase to keep things dry. I might just start doing it all of the time for the reasons we have bother mentioned.
  13. Didn't mention these, but yep, I bring also. I have these as well (all liquids go in them). I even have a special plastic cushioned pack for my wine bottle when I bring one. I saw a suitcase (not mine) after a bottle of red wine broke in it. IPAD (download books before leaving home) Paperback book to take to pool. Rasher and Sunscreen. Many of the other things above as well. Carry prescription meds with you if you take any, do not pack them. .
  14. Adapter for multiple USB charging Deck of cards Shampoo/Conditioner Bonine Some over the counter Med products
  15. For one cruise I had last year, the app would not work, so I switched to my laptop and was able to check in that way. I prefer the app as well to get my check in time and then fill in the rest later on my laptop, but if the app is not working, keep your laptop handy.
  16. Thanks for the info. I saw your reply and deleted mine. Up to a point I agree with you, but I also have an elderly parent and she could never make that walk which is why I wanted to mention the ferry/water taxi although some have posted it is not in the center of town either. Depending on how many people are with, pushing multiple wheel chairs might not be an option either. Maybe an excursion would be a better option, but they would still need to walk to the buses. Just thoughts.
  17. @stuckintexas I understand your husband uses insulin so maybe this would not help him at all, but thought I would mention it. My mother was a diet controlled diabetic for years and requested a note from her doctor explaining he condition and asking that she be allowed to bring snacks she prepared herself when she flew, so they would not confiscate what she brought. I don't know if the TSA will still honor a note like this, but you could check with the TSA. She did this after she was delayed in a very small town airport unexpectedly with no food options. Just a thought. Disregard if it is not an option or needed. I am not trying to influence your thoughts in anyway, just making a suggestion. I was on a cruise in January with 2 diabetics at our table and from their discussions they seemed to do well on the cruise. I do know one of them was very active as many have suggested. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. @ringers0815 your pictures are beautiful, thank you for posting them and bringing us along on your journey.
  19. Keep checking online as well unless you find something else you want or book elsewhere. The one I wanted was sold out, but someone must have cancelled as it became available later and I was able to book it.
  20. You can't get much closer than that.๐Ÿ™‚
  21. I wonder if it is always like this, but good to know. We are staying over the weekend once we get off and are flying out on Monday. Thank you for your Review and pictures๐Ÿ™‚ Safe travels!
  22. You're welcome. Whatever you decide, enjoy your cruise ๐Ÿ™‚
  23. I was in 3526 for a Sept 2023 cruise and the head of the bed would have been under the window, but in our case separated to the side as I was with my sister. Edit. I just looked my cabin was in the same spot, just on the other side of the ship.
