  1. Geographic location may be way south but population wise, Miami is hardly 'southern'.
  2. Great, but now you can't pre-order for your cabin.😠
  3. Got to remember too, even though the ship is ported out of SC, the crew cooking is likely from somewhere in Asia. And yes, I agree, the biscuits are probably pre-packaged and frozen.
  4. Heck, I've been to a lot of restaurants here in the south that can't make good sausage gravy.
  5. We asked for, and were provided, with paper menus on the liberty and Mardi Gras.
  6. We have used VRBO many times without problems. Remember, these are individual owners, not an entire company, and each experience may be different. Read the reviews before deciding. We find that if the majority are good, and well written, the rental is usually just fine. You may find one or two who were unhappy (you can't please everyone and some just scam looking for their money back) but if most are good, you should be good to go. Just our experience, YMMV.
  7. I called the aquarium and they told me that with your purchase of an admission ticket they DO have complimentary luggage storage for cruise passengers.
  8. No, not very walkable. If your ship docks north of the drawbridge, you cannot walk across the bridge. If you dock at terminal 1 it's about a 2.5 to 3-mile walk, much without sidewalks. It is not at the port.
  9. We were on Liberty in September and could smell it in different places around the ship although I must say, it wasn't overpowering.
  10. Like I said, doesn't mean it will happen every time.
  11. Last time I was down there Carnival had a huge office in Miami (Doral), don't know if they still do.
  12. On our last cruise when filling out the check-in it asked if I had a CPAP and did I need distilled water. I did not add anything else and there was an extension cord in my cabin upon arrival. Doesn't mean this will happen every time but I have always been asked in the terminal if a cord was needed.
  13. Port Canaveral is open. Those 6 cruise ships are in port at this time.
  14. We're only about a half hour or so drive east of Tampa so I expect we will get spanked by Ian, just don't know how much.🥴 Ready as we'll ever be. This is not our first hurricane rodeo by any means.⛈️
  15. Well, I'm not the poster you refer to but just a few weeks ago we arrived for our cruise on the Liberty at 10:30. We were in a suite so we were allowed to walk right into the terminal via a separate line to check in. Once checked in we were directed to a separate lounge to wait for boarding. It was around 11:15- 11:30 when a staff member came to the lounge and we were directed to go ahead and board the ship.
  16. Why do you cruise? Our simple answer...why not?
  17. Not always. we've had our cabin steward tell us just use the cabin water as our free ones and he would replace it. On our last cruise (Liberty) there were two bottles with a tag on them stating they were our complimentary bottles. Ya never know.
  18. Yes, suites can arrive anytime but if they show up early, like 10-10:30 etc, they still have to wait to board until such time as actual boarding begins, whatever time that may be. They do not get to board immediately. That's what folks need to be clear on.
  19. People seem to continue to confuse check in time with boarding time. They are two different things folks. You can select your check in time then wait in a seating area at the terminal, but the ship will tell you when you can board. Boarding time can vary, and you don't get to pick it.
  20. I seem to recall someone at one time looking for a spot past the bridge in Tampa for a new cruise port but there weren't any viable locations. Building a new bridge was projected to be too expensive. As for lowering the water level as someone else posted, how do you lower the water in the entire Tampa Bay other than the natural tides? You sure can't lower the water just under the bridge and dredging only lowers the seabed, not the water.
  21. I feel the op's pain. Depends on the time of day too. In the times of 'rush hour' the areas around Rt 27 and beyond heading east can be a total zoo, especially around Champions Gate and beyond until you hit the 417. We actually leave in the afternoon on the day before (and we live within a mile of 27 below Haines City) and stay somewhere either in the Orlando area near the airport, or Cocoa. Don't need the stress factor when heading on vaca.
  22. I expected most people would read the directions but perhaps I expect too much?
  23. Simple Green works well for removing them. keep a spray bottle and cleaning rag in my vehicle.
  24. Nothing "insane" about it. As others have said, too many would cheat, and any woman could claim to be pregnant. Not every pregnant woman is at the showing stage so what do you ask for proof, a pregnancy test?
  25. We've never had a problem finding parking at any of the PC terminals. Also, depending on schedules there may be as many, or even more departures on Saturday as any other day.
