  1. Thanks, that is definitely post-Covid. So, it seems that the policy regarding tips has not changed concerning the crew handing in tips and not having to share extra tips only when the tips have not been removed by the passenger.
  2. That is also what I understand the policy to be. But, how long ago was that previous cruise as we all know things may have changed post-Covid?
  3. Oh my, that sounds terrible. 😒 Wishing you good luck 🤞 Do you have some proof of payment like a credit card statement showing that you paid NCL?
  4. OK, thanks for answering my question. I did already mention having the ship wait for you. I did think of one more you did not mention. They vet the cruise operator. I know once on a Southern Caribbean cruise (I forget exactly which island), I had a Carnival excursion cancelled because they could no longer vouch for the excursion provider.
  5. And of course there is this big point of controversy, should you book on your own, with a TA, or with a cruise line representative.
  6. Yes, this will definitely make it easier for the stewards to get the cabins cleaned and ready for the next batch of passengers.
  7. I think there are 2 points here to consider. The first is the one that the OP brought up, why are they not following their own strongly worded policy. And the second is where was security. Given the past history of enforcing policies, I don't know if many of us are surprised that this is not being enforced. But the lack of the presence of security is disconcerting. I'm sure the dealer or pit boss could have called for security well before this situation escalated. Did the call, or did security not show up when called?
  8. Could you please explain what the value they add is? I understand they say they will hold the ship if your excursion gets back late, but is there something else I am missing?
  9. And complaints about missed ports. 😒
  10. Of course, you can say it; he has been saying it in post after post. It's just that saying it does not make it true.
  11. I thought you had said you had already detailed the better way to train the crew. Now you say NCL abd the feds should find the better way. 🤦‍♂️
  12. The Coast Guard does not charge for their rescue operations. You as a taxpayer are paying for it.
  13. You might also want to ask this is the following forum: Northern Europe & Baltic Sea - Cruise Critic Community
  14. 🤦‍♂️, perhaps you should send in your resume to NCL and ask to be hired to implement training procedures for the crew re the muster drill.
  15. It does not matter how great a city in Russia is, no cruise ship is going there for the foreseeable future.
  16. If you do decide to go, go with the attitude that it will be an enjoyable experience. If you go expecting it to be boring, it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  17. I believe it was the Natura where we stayed. You had to take a bus to get to the downtown area, but it ran often and downtown was fairly close.
  18. Right, you have made an assertion (your words) that there are other ways for the behind the scene training, but you have made no concrete proposal saying what those other ways are.
  19. There are a few owned by Iceland Airline. When we did a land trip, we used one of them. (Sorry, I can't remember the exact name.) It was fine and one thing did stand out. When we were late back from an afternoon excursion and had to be someplace soon to meet another excursion, they went out of their way to make sure their restaurant served us quickly.
  20. And by having it a daily service charge added to your folio instead of the envelope system, it is easier for all levels except level 1 who could have just not left any envelopes but now have to go to the purser's desk to have the tips removed.
  21. Just to add to what you wrote---you have also repeatedly said that there were things the crew did behind the scenes that we passengers do not know of. @RocketMan275 has studiously avoided this in his assertion as fact that the new drill is better.
  22. It does seem to be a win/win situation for NCL. If the passenger uses the FCC, they get a new booking. If it is not used, they are not out any money.
  23. Since you believe there are better ways to train the crew, why don't you share them? And exactly how do you think the new muster drill was a superior training tool?
  24. Too bad they would not reconsider, but they do say exactly the same, not 95% the same.
