  1. Our Copenhagen airport time story. This is way pre-Covid (2007), so I do not know how much it applies now. And I think our ship docked earlier than that. I found a great airline roundtrip fare between Newark and Copenhagen. But we had to depart at 9 AM from Copenhagen. Both Princess and our TA said, way too early. We decided to stay a day in Copenhagen. When we got our luggage tags, DW said to me there is one for 9 AM Continental (the airline we were flying). Not only was she right, but there was also a tag for flights before 9 AM!
  2. And let's not forget firefighters. They also train constantly.
  3. LOL, I wish I could disagree with you about the Shortline Bus Line.
  4. Yes, and how many complaints would we be hearing from the thousands of other passengers if they had waited. As you pointed out in the situation it would not at all be feasible for HAL to somehow get those stranded passengers back in any reasonable time frame.
  5. That is wonder to hear. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Obviously not a great way to end your cruise vacation, but glad you are home safe. And thank you for the review (especially finding dance lessons on the daily 😊) If you get a chance not that the cruise is over, maybe you could give your thoughts on what was best and worst about the Prima.
  7. Baltic cruise on the Star Princess for our 30th anniversary. St. Petersburg was magnificent, and the private tour I set up through our roll call with Alla worked out very well. Not only for all we saw, but also for the fine group of 10 who worked out so well together. Tallinn, Estonia is a gem. Stockholm, Sweden had one problem, there was just too much to do. Very few Baltic cruises visit Oslo, but ours did and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It is unfortunate that no one will be going to St. Petersburg on a cruise any time in the near future or possibly ever.
  8. Good question, though it is more of a question for those in charge at cruisecritic than the cruise line CEOs.
  9. Yes, that it is what it is supposed to be, but for many it has morphed into a complaint forum. And that is true not only on the Princess board.
  10. Remember the ships are foreign flagged. If it was legalized in the USA should not really make a difference when it comes to will it be legal on cruise ships.
  11. Good post, but you do realize that at this cruise question and answer session with several cruise CEOs, they are never going to pose a question of why don't you fire someone.
  12. @cml4958, what happened with Jamaica? I think I remember on Sid's review the ship went to Jamaica (where he stayed onboard) before going to GSC.
  13. We had a tender once in Corfu, not usually a tender port but there were 3 ships and 2 docks. The waters got a little rough and one person fell directly onto his elbow despite being held by a crew member. I remember being very thankful it was not my DW since she had once fallen on ice and had her elbow broken and now had a plate in it. If she had fallen on that elbow her scream would have been heard all throughout Greece.
  14. Another wish for your father to keep getting better.
  15. Thanks, for a good feeling for the ship from your response. 😊
  16. I also do not like mega ships. We are booked on the Prima this summer as we fell in love with the itinerary for London (Southampton) to Reykjavik. Please tell me it does not feel like a mega ship. And Athens like Rome and Florences is not a port. The port for Athens is Piraeus, a train ride away.
  17. If they all fit your budget, I would look at how long they are in the ports that are most important to you. Also remember some ports are actually not ports, but far away. Rome, Florence, and Athens are examples of destinations that are not the actual port.
  18. For Mr. Del Rio---you have been accused of going back to the old muster to save money. Could you explain the reasoning for this return. For the CEOs of Carnival and Royal--you have stayed with the new e-muster. Can you provide some proof as to the safety of this new procedure if there needed to be a real call for a muster? How is the crew being adequately trained to react to a real emergency?
  19. I bet the interviewer never called him Len or Lenny.
  20. Oh well. When we originally booked 8/6, DW had not yet decided to retire as an elementary art teacher, so 8/26 was not workable. We later thought of transferring our booking to that date, but having our anniversary fall on the second sea day of the 8/6 cruise won out.
  21. My early flight from Copenhagen story. (This was way before Covid, 2007 to be exact, so things might be different now.) We had an incredible round trip fare between Newark and Copenhagen, but the return flight could only be taken at 9AM. Both our TA and Princess when we called them insisted that this was way too early. We decided to spend a day post-cruise in Copenhagen. When the tags for luggage were handed out, we discovered that not only was there a tag for Princess transfers for Continental Airlines 9AM, but there was also a tag for flights before 9 AM.
  22. How is the compensation for the crew affected when those of us who had a cruise booked before the increase in the DSC now pre-paid it at our previously booked rate? Are you going to share with them any of the interest you earn on having this money in advance? (The last question is half serious as we know they are not going to do that.)
  23. Maybe you should have capitalized the word CONDITIONAL. None of us know for sure if the new drill will still be approved if there is no official Covid crisis.
  24. Do you ever get anything right? 🤣 Just kidding, it looks like you are learning a lot answering questions.
