  1. Prices are still up there Geoff, despite only half cabins sold on the next few cruises. As a solo I would still be up for $300 per diem for a balcony. No wonder Princess is getting travel agents on board for a free go see to promote and market Princess Cruises.
  2. Julie, more like they cannot sell and/or loads of cancellations.
  3. On the subject of Coral Princess, as a matter of interest I just perused the east coast cruises on Coral, by jove there are loads of unbooked cabins. Some of the cruises only appear half full a week or two out from cruise.
  4. Talking about Hobart, couple of weeks the Antarctic Festival will be on there. I went a few years ag, bigger and better now I am told, wink, wink. Antarctic Festival - Mawson's Huts Foundation.html
  5. You could ferry one way and catch a government bus back into Circular Quay, with a nice tour of the Eastern Beaches for a cheap fare.
  6. Perhaps many of the Pacific Encounter crew have the lurgy, hence the code yellow.
  7. Thanks Linda, all so long ago now. Anyway you like Crime drama, I just watched the first two episodes of 'Time' on Iview. Fantastic, hard hitting British mini series. One last episode out next Saturday. Highly recommended.
  8. I know that mate, you are a gentleman and a scholar as well as being the cruise master. Yes plenty of big brown paper bags going to the top, pollies and senior police.
  9. Vale Judith Durham of the Seekers, one of the best singers ever. RIP.
  10. Fair bit of corruption in 21 Div Adrian, gaming, betting and vice as well as nailing the hoodlums. Some class mates of mine were in it, they could not get out quick enough. All trainee detectives had to do a year there. Suffice to say they no longer exist.
  11. We thought we were bulletproof back then, you husband was involved in the real heavy stuff, more so than me, good on him.
  12. It was, but then I was in my 20's and fearless, you just got back on the horse. My first 3 yrs were at Darlinghurst/KX, I encountered plenty of aggro in that area, believe me. Bit like Qld's Fortitude Valley, but worse. KX was a den of iniquity, should have been wiped from the earth.
  13. I hope you enjoy the Alaskan Cruise, we did it in 2006, wonderful. Yes stay away from Covid, travel is risky these days. What happened to your friends happened to my son, wife and two kids, just 3 weeks ago. Tested positive in Athens, refused boarding on the Qatar aircraft to Sydney via Doha. So they headed over to London, for 5 days, quarantined then Copenhagen and Paris for 6 days, back here now.
  14. That is REAL food Geoffrey. Approved by Jenny Craig, WeightWatchers, Light and Easy, etc etc.😆
  15. Not me mate, I was not on the Vice Squad or No.21 Div Special Squad, lol. I accepted free sauce on my pie though.😁
  16. Good news Lyle. In my 36 yrs, many of which I worked solo on the motorcycles and pursuit cars, I got shot at twice by the baddies, but they missed and got I stabbed in the ribs once at Port Kembla by a bunch of eastern Europeans. That was all in the 1970's. Such is life on the street, it is a jungle out there.
  17. Loads of competition from the commercial pie makers here Lyle. You would be in heaven if you got a hotel with a Chef Mike or is it a Chef Mic (Microwave)😁You could dine on a different pie for BLD.
  18. Probably get a 4 pack of pes in Aldi for $4.50
  19. Coles, down here anyway, have a separate chilled cabinet for Garlos pies.
  20. Yes Geoff, here is an old photo of the Sydney one, My first visit to Harrys was probably about 1966 and many, many times thereafter, working at Darlo/KX.👮‍♂️ Now I have to counsel myself for thread hijack, lol.
  21. Consider thyself counselled young Geoff. Thread hijack is a capital offence.😆
