  1. I am getting annoyed and cranky. First time I have done it, blocked, bye. Think I have had enough of CC. I seem to be on a crusade.
  2. Sad that Mic, all the best to your relos and friends there. Couple of my neighbours family who live in Windsor are flooded out, They too could not insure. My daughter at Moruya was going to drop insurance, after recent floods there, premium tripled to $8000 a year. Yes you guessed Les coughed up, again. No wonder I cannot afford a suite on the ships. Sad that.
  3. Some areas received 400mm in 24 hrs, Lyle, serious rain.
  4. Sort of Don, yuppie meat pie, enjoy. Have a shiraz with it.
  5. Wasted their money if they avoided everything, well most things anyway. How come we disagree almost always lol.
  6. Did you share tables in mdr julie, just asking.
  7. You may not of heard of those avoiding, but guaranteed there were there,
  8. Fish fry, progressive dinner to islanders homes, cocktails on the cliffs, sound and light show, all musts on NI.
  9. Good points, but so many pax are avoiding the shows, tours, buffets, not wanting to dine with others etc, trying to minimise exposure. Not getting the full cruise experience. All a bit sad really.
  10. Did the convict night, wore the suit…great time.
  11. Should all be released. Dont you want to know the covid history of a ship before you book or embark? I do !
  12. The American ones, laden with pax from the USA are arriving in a few months, HAL's Noordam and Westerdam. I hope they are disinfected well upon arrival in Steak and Kidney.
  13. As for us, even went we went on 3 month trips it was just one suitcase each. Too heavy taking any more. I gave up taking tuxedo/dinner suits on cruise ships years ago. This time on HAL it may be the Lido buffet for me, 24/7 if they do not like my current cruise attire in the MDR.
  14. Interesting new, we were there in 2005, time the Bali bombing happened, stayed at the new Governors Resort which was great. With all due respect do thee wear this attire these days?🤣
  15. Well done Neil and Tracey. Now you can travel a bit more, but remember....
  16. Reading posts about recent Coral cruises, covid cabins occupied etc, I fear there are more covid cases on board, than people realise. The numbers should be released not hidden.
  17. Back in 2017 when we did QM2, Sydney to HK, ship was mostly full of Brits doing the Worldie. A lot of their spare luggage and they had plenty was stored up top in the dog kennel area. As no dogs on board, dogs only travel on Transatlantics. I had a walk up to the dog area, peered in the windows and suitcases from floor to ceiling, hundreds of them.
  18. When we did Arcadia, Sydney to Southampton in 2012, the ship was on a worldie, 90% Brits. On our MDR table we had 6 Brits and us. One of the nice couples owned a big plumbing business up Chester way. He told me they had 14 big suit cases for the 3 and a half month trip. 4 cases were in cabin and the other 10 in storage on ship, steward brought up what they wanted. They told me when the ship got back to Southampton one of his company pantech trucks was coming down to take them and the 14 big suitcases back to Chester. Sure enough, I saw the truck on the wharf with his name on it and being loaded with the 14 big, I mean big suitcases. The couple had 3 or 4 tuxedo outfits and half a dozen evening gowns, just for starters, lol..
  19. HAL dressy/gala nights these days. And the way it used to be on HAL.
  20. Indeed, the only two cruise lines currently operating from Australia - Princess and P&O Australia (both Carnival Corp) require full covid vaccs, pre boarding testing and masks on at embarkation terminal and on board in public places on board. So unless things change here in OZ, pax coming over from USA to Australia in a few months need to be aware of the regulations here. Also currently no cruise over 7 days is allowed to operate. I hope that changes.
  21. Rodney Rude or Jimoin would be good cruise ship comedians. If one does not like to hear the language, one need not attend, lol.
  22. Good comment, now Julie, you live north of the harbour and the big Carnival brands office is at Chatswood, so I nominate you for Carnival wine buyer, lol. $200 k a year, company bmw and wine a/c, lol.
  23. More like the entertainment budget for the ship here has been cut by the princess bean counters. So they got the elcheapo comedian, lol. The yanks would not cop it, like the wines.
  24. Glass for me then, confirmed.🍷🍷would kill me to go a month with no vino, lol.
