  1. Years ago we got off the ship at Lautoka, hired a car and drove across to Suva, rejoining the ship the next day. An adventure through the jungle that was, lol. Perhaps that is still an option.
  2. The offenders should be paraded before the Staff Captain and put off at the nearest port. Stern action is required. They are endangering other pax and crew.
  3. Welcome back, I was thinking we had not heard from you for a long while. I recollect some years ago I asked how your sons Billy and Charlie were, they are your fur babies, 🐕lol. All the best Eileen.
  4. No Conflict Island visit…, after all the dramas recently re ships going there or not, it is an anticlimax not being able to land today. For many on the current cruise the Conflicts were a drawcard. Commiserations my friends.😢
  5. A great spot the Bundy factory, tour and drink.
  6. My GP told me you have to be medically diagnosed with Covid before a script for the anti virals can be written.
  7. Sad news that Julie. Enjoy the trip back down the coast. More rain on the way.
  8. Never see that ship here, well maybe in 25 years when the Yanks have had enough of it. Graham might be retired by then and the red carpet worn out, so will not sample Windjammer, @ The Foodjammer, lol.
  9. Big mother of a ship the Icon. 5600 pax, OMG.
  10. Will be interesting to see the NZ reaction to these Transpacific ships if they report a load of cases approaching NZ. Jacinta would be nervous.
  11. Australia and NZ require vaccs, masks and pre testing and on board testing. Cruise lines who wish to operate here have to comply with our government protocols.
  12. We don't want NCL here then with that slack attitude. If they arrive they must comply with our protocols, vaccs, mask and testing.
  13. They might when they get the flick from the RSL and Leagues Clubs, lol. The ships are the last resort, lol., $1000 a gig on the Princess Theatre stage, lol.

    NO TESTING!

As per Government regulations testing required prior to NZ and Australia, fair enough too.
  15. Rarely in Australia as the waitstaff and kitchen staff are probably earning $25 to $30 an hour or on a public holiday, probably $60 an hour. Overseas I might drop a couple of dollars or round the bill up like if the bill was $45, round it to $50. 10% is fair enough in my view. Tipping is not in the Aussie culture as a rule. Stand by for incoming, lol.
  16. Surely you are joking? Not all cruisers have that sort of dough to spread around. I don't.
  17. Tips, I call it the AWS - Automatic Wage Subsidy. In other words Carnival Corp don't want to pay the full amount of the service crew wage, they want another donation from pax. Should be like Princess ships in Australia and UK I think, daily auto tip of $15 whatever if included in your overall fare and unable to be removed. Thus there is no need for further tipping.
