  1. There’s an espresso machine in the suite. Also with the overhang, you can be on your balcony when it rains.
  2. On the smaller/older ships, aside from less entertainment, the decor is dated, and wear and imperfections are evident everywhere including cabins, often cited in negative reviews.
  3. Thank you! It's so easy to have a great cruise IF people do their research. I'll be very sad when they retire Grandeur. I felt so at home there as a solo cruiser in 7543, same cabin layout as yours. Everything is handy, you don't even need the elevators. Put your chair next to the rail on the teak promenade, with a book and a drink, and it's an even better view than a balcony and just as quiet. Your impressions are the same as mine. Sailing again in September!
  4. Thank you, hopefully this sinks in with people, a basic rule of civility and consideration that is being neglected in recent times.
  5. Got me thinking about the psychology of these practices...they get you so emotionally invested and time-invested, you become more entrenched as their customer.
  6. Thanks for the heads-up. Makes sense. Maybe suites won't be sold out so fast.
  7. Funny how I never cared but now after four pages I'd like to know the real story of why he was let go. For all we know, it was not financial at all, could have been something like personality clashes or job performance.
  8. No. But I do take a few minutes to sanitize drawers and whatever else I can.
  9. x2 Imagine all the people you are affecting when you show up late. As others said, you may like it. Early dining frees up your evening. A great example for the family to be respectful and show up on time.
  10. No, thank you!! But if it happened, I would just remove the hair with a tissue and toss it. This is a good reminder though to check the cleanliness of the cabin and to pack antiseptic wipes. People are disgusting. Only takes a few minutes to wipe everything down. Remote goes into a ziplock. The TV and mirror were smudged last time; I asked the steward to Windex them and he did so immediately. Most of us have our pet peeves so I get it. For me, it's when the lounge staff has no sense of urgency delivering my drink. And it's usually straight gin.🤤
  11. Maybe Royal doesn’t mind some exodus of customers. In my workplace, the sharp increase in our prices post-covid has caused the very cost-conscious public to go elsewhere, and those guests have been replaced by people who are spending considerably more, we are busier than ever.
  12. Again, what is so hard about merely informing the server and/or captain of any issue with the food, so they can resolve it then and there? I am a server in a restaurant and we want our guests to leave happy, so they don't go around bad-mouthing our food and service.
  13. They'll make more, won't they? I am curious. Maybe some of them are ok with busting their butts for more money.
  14. I would prefer Mariner. My sister and nephew really enjoyed it last Fall. And I would find out when Yeshiva week is, so I could avoid it. Others may not mind, but I can't tolerate packs of unruly children.
  15. Still pretty new to cruising but re: interior cabin I really enjoyed it when I cruised solo. On an upper deck, I feel the air is not as stuffy. Otherwise a suite when the price is not outrageous.
  16. I had to take action two separate times. Teenagers who responded very nicely, and two obnoxious couples, it was challenging but I can’t stand disrespect to artists.
  17. Is the violin/guitar duo called Entourage Duo playing? They took my breath away back in Jan.
  18. Try it and let us know. If it's not good, you can always send it back and exchange for something else, or even leave and go to the Windjammer.
  19. Agree, it's not busy at all, you can even move a regular sitting chair right alongside the railing and get comfortable and have nothing but the ocean on one side of you!
  20. Helpful and concise especially for someone new to cruising or new to Royal. Thanks!
  21. In retrospect however you end up getting there, you'll really be showing your kids how we did it in the '90's , we drove 16 hours if we had to, and bad attitudes weren't allowed 🙂.
  22. It’s good to see someone so excited, making extra effort to be prepared and see that all generations have fun. I love Grandeur too, even though people emphasize how “old” she is.
  23. I don’t know, how others spend their money is no concern of mine.
