  1. This calls for a quarantine in an interior cabin.
  2. But if Dolly Parton followed the rules she'd still be the back-up girl singer for Porter Wagoner and she'd of changed her "dress code" when the Nashville suits told her she'd have a better chance of "making" it and being taken seriously in the music business. Sorry, but I'm with Dolly, got to push the envelope to get it to the other side of the table.
  3. designed as theater more than anything. Spot on here!!
  4. People like that should just stay home
  5. Dress up for overnight trains?? Look I am over 60 yo but missing B&W TV and Leave It To Beaver type lifestyle is just not on my radar. I do not want to return to the 60's, the generation before mine lamented changes and the generation(s) after me will do the same, though I really don't think they will be in the kerfuffle some of a certain age can seem to be over superfluous "stuff".
  6. and we're Select cruising in Aqua Class this time - and it does not matter, just go drop them off and roam the ship, grab a drink or a bite to eat
  7. People are and have been "walking around" with many different transmissible ailments for a very long time, pre-COVID, post and will be until the end of time. Do you isolate anytime just knowing this is the case. I think the point was it is there, deal with it, get used to it, not have to like it, but just take the precautions we have always taken for flu, colds and the like. Yes yes, I know COVID can be more highly transmissible, but it is manageable being vaxxed/boosted. I agree that folks should prove being vaxxed to cruise, just like many do with their employers, but we don't need to cower and be scared, the time is well past that IMHO.
  8. Glad it worked out for you, but being moved to an isolation cabin is such a bunch of bunk and smoke and mirrors. That charade needs to end IMO, and until then, land vacas for me.
  9. Oh dear @terrydtx you do like to live on the edge, but there are RULES I tell ya, RULES. Many on here say they "don't care" about what someone wears, but then they point out the rules, the rules, and they are there for a reason, me thinks deep down they really do care and they can't help but gawking at them and pointing them out to their table mates/traveling companions thus ruining their dinner, and yes I do believe this happens, otherwise there would not be so much protesting about how people dress. Now excuse me, I am meeting a friend for lunch at a lovely restaurant and my dress shorts and collared polo need to be pressed.
  10. And the subway/public transport etc. I take the subway in Boston 3x/week to get into the city. I am closer to fellow passengers there (as in just inches from the person sitting next to me) than I would ever be on a cruise ship. I do wear a mask on the subway, the only place that I still do, and we have no color codes, other than the color of the subway line we are riding, ironically mine is the orange line, no testing, quarantine, reporting to the CDC blah blah blah and I have ZERO idea if the person sitting next to me or standing above me has been vaccinated or not and frankly I don't really care. Point is all this other touch feely stuff is useless, we are all (mostly) just living in our new normal and moving on with life without a bunch of non-sense, which it looks like CDC may be eliminating, hope the damn cruise lines will as well.
  11. And thanks for sharing your opinion on the topic as well.
  12. Do you really believe that they will be embarrassed being the outlier?! Trust me, they won’t, if/when they drop it will be on their terms. I for one just won’t pay it, I find Bermuda boring anyway even if I don’t get off the ship, just won’t waste my time.
  13. New policy- don’t worry about what others are wearing or not wearing, let us do it for you…sometimes. Now go and enjoy your dinner.
  14. Hope it stays like this when we are in Ireland in Sept/Oct.
  15. I think that he was just inserting a little bit of humor to his situation. I’m glad it all worked out for him.
  16. Great plan! Whether I travel solo or with my hubby, always attend several of the LGBTQ+ meet and greets, it’s a great way to meet some very nice people traveling solo or as a couple. I hope you have a great cruise!!
  17. You seem quite logical and level headed, I’m sure you will work it out amicably for everyone.
  18. You made a choice and they did as well. If everyone wants to eat dinner together a few times during the cruise there will need to be comprises made, otherwise just stick your original plan then meet after.
  19. Dang won’t that be fun here on CC if they do that. I can only imagine how many different threads it would spawn.
  20. Why do you need agreement or to know what anyone else would do in a certain situation?! Just tip when you want and how you want.
  21. Chasing points is a waste of time and money, especially to go on a vacation one would otherwise not have taken.
  22. I tip based on the service. Whether the wine is good or swill or if there any descriptions of food/wine, has nothing to do with the server.
  23. We do have the $2 bill, but it not very widely used at all. No stores etc would have them to return in change of a bill and you need to ask for them from a bank. I have heard though that on cruise ships, for some reason, they don't like them, I think it may be that when used at tips and for the crew they may be more difficult to use in a foreign country.
  24. You gotta have some chutzpah to crash a wedding on a cruise ship. Clearly they got on board the wrong ship, they meant to get on the Carnimart, there would have been a brawl if it happened on there.
