  1. What does this have to do with the OP topic? FYI item that are considered insignificant by the IRS are not reportable. It is unlikely that a $10 casino win would either: #1 change the amount of taxes due and #2 not be offset by a gambling loss of at least $10. DeMinimus gambling wins are not reportable
  2. Suggest you post on your roll call or the ports forum. There are always many people who do not follow the rules about photography
  3. Food allergies can be accommodated at any dining venue. Blu vs MDR really makes no difference. There are menus posted at several on line sites. Gluten free has no set menu as some of those items are prepared with modified ingredients to meet the needs of passengers. Staff will let you know which menus items meet your needs. The rule is simple. List food restrictions when you book. Let special needs know your restrictions. Ask again when ordering lest something slip. Works the same on every ship.
  4. No. But clearance in FLL is pretty much show and go.
  5. Agree the service from customer service people have been great. Every morning call has been quickly answered. When I was unable to enter anything on the Medallion app; the CSR patiently entered all the information including pictures till we had everything to be able to board in the Green lane. Will be a long cruise if the Medallion is as awful as the app.
  6. Good to know. A card fits nicely in a pocket. Actually miss cabin keys. They always worked
  7. Quite happy with sail only. Can have juice at the Elite breakfast. If I want a beer at lunch simply purchase. From 5-7 simply pickup a couple glasses of red wine and set them in our cabin. A couple more glasses before dinner and we are fine. We used to laugh we doing a B2B before Elite as took a couple of bottles of wine on board and had a duty free liquor delivered on the last night of the first leg. Had plenty to drink for the next leg. Throw in goodness knows how many bottles purchased in ports and taken to our cabin. Fond memories of a raspberry chocolate liqueur from France we mixed with soft ice cream for several nights.
  8. LB - The problem here is service has declined similarly on all the mass market cruiselines. Want upscale move from HAL, RCCL, Princess etc to Oceana. 2024 cruises seem to be priced higher. We will see what happens. I agree with your premise, but competition for selling cruises is intense and the number of complaints is still small.
  9. And your TA might have group space on the new cruise. Thus usually a refundable deposit. PS it is Celebrity that charges the $100. The idea to slow people booking multiple cruises and cancelling all bit one.
  10. Tom - I miss sailing on the Mercury, do not like the infinite veranda and the app is awful. Could list about 50 other things that have changed. I think most of us that started cruising many years ago like the way it was better than "Cruising 2022". Your point is valid and as others said best made to a manager while on board. If enough people make note of a change it is reversed - such as chocolate on the pillow at night. The problem today is cruising has fundamentally changed because of crazy price increases for both labor and materials; while cruiselines attempt to provide a product that is priced within the budgets of the masses. I have chosen to make an occasional comment to both a manager while onboard AND the executive office in Miami. But today one in reality has three choices for the majority of cutbacks - go with the flow, get upset and ruin our experience or find another venue for travel. PS Château Lafite has gone up a lot
  11. Excepting the far north and south that tend to have rougher seas in their winter; the ocean state is dependent on weather conditions. The Med tends to be on average calmer that the Caribbean. I too find the noise complaints interesting as Beyond is pretty much the same as Apex. Cannot remember similar issues on Apex and have seen nothing outside of Cruise Critic about problems mentioned here on Beyond.
  12. TNF is shown on local channels and Amazon. If the cruise ship can get a local channel then it is possible. Have gotten local feeds from NY and LA on board in the past. You can also stream it yourself. You will need to ask on board.
  13. It is close. Walkable with rollerbags.
  14. Ocean bouys in the area recorded steady 2.7m with seas to 4m+. Depending on the period between waves you will get quite a bit of flex in the ship. If Beyond did not flex the steel would weaken over time and break. A good example of that is Liberty ships breaking up during WWII.
  15. 1. Answered 2. Activities are specific to your cruise. Lots of dailies published elsewhere. Some things like trivia standard. 3. One hour won't work. Especially with others unless you leave before desert 4. Again the entertainment is specific to your cruise. 7pm for early show unless port calls modify to 7:30. 5. You need to decide as entertainment changes every cruise 6. I happily cruise without internet. No idea why you would need it. Activities available both on the app - free and daily announcements delivered each evening. PS internet for light surfing is great. Face time won't work unless upgraded. Again geographic location makes a big difference.
  16. We have used ArriveCAN multiple times - over 20 - while no longer required the app is quick and no issues entering data. Made crossing fast. Almost always hand them my passport and the next response is have a wonderful visit. No more list of questions.
  17. I booked using my OBC. No credit card needed. Again the OBC was from Princess- any OBC from a TA usually is not available until after you board - and the amount was less than the amount available.
  18. FBC stands for Flights by Celebrity. It is a consolidator organized to provide deals on airline flights to cruise customers. It gets discounted fares by reserving blocks of seats -- putting together groups. The advantage and disadvantage are the same - you don't pay for your ticket until final payment so you are also not ticketed tuntil then as well. Being part of a group makes changes sometimes more difficult when things go sideways. Any changes must be done by the group organizer. Pretty much every cruiseline operates a similar system. If things go smoothly , you are not picky about seat selection and are aware FBC is at the mercy of airlines and flight changes then a good deal. Usually best on international flights
  19. They expire at different dates. The two you posted were used for a a cruise. Look at the status. There are obviously more credits. Your goodwill credit shown expires in 6 weeks. When is your cruise?
  20. The pizza is just fine. Excellent- no. Lots of different salads
  21. Really? Checking out multiple companies certainly makes complete sense to me. I check the cruise line insurance AND call the insurance store. Everyone has different needs.
  22. I did my checkin almost 1 year ahead. Was able to select a boarding time 33 days before my cruise.
  23. Can you make a 10:30 flight? Yes. Suggest you do a search as this has hundreds of replies. If everything goes perfectly - Yes. Any of some twenty things and you will miss your flight. A personal choice but I don't want that kind of stress so book at 1pm or later. Have time for a relaxed lunch.
  24. If using any status discount you must call them.
