  1. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I love listening to the birds sing and watching them fly, hop and flutter, but I won't insult them by trying to draw them. 😁 Haven't been to a zoo in years, but do enjoy them. I am extremely grateful for all I have.

A very true quote by a great woman. I love sushi, but will pass on today's meal.

    Happy birthday, Sandi! 🎊🎂🥳 @StLouisCruisers

@smitty34877 Terry, Camilla is so beautiful.

    Like Bruce @aliaschief

I slept in this morning which is very unusual. (I couldn't get the cursor back I place. 🤷🏻‍♀️) I couldn't believe when I saw it was after 9:00.

DH was feeling pretty good yesterday so he decided he didn't need to continue the medication he's been taking. He also decided that it was a good idea to do some activities. Well, unfortunately, he was wrong. I would say he is getting better, but rest and medication through the weekend is probably best. Also having another test today. Thank you for your continued prayers.

So, taking care of DH, some housekeeping and regular hobbies will be what today and the weekend holds for me. 😀

    Wishing everyone a fantastic Friday.

  2. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I remember having to learn the metric system because, "that's what we were moving to". My brother is a beer drinker and I have enjoyed going to a few tastings with him even though it is not my drink of choice. Hopefully World Health Day reminds each of us to evaluate our health needs.

I like the quote and meal.

DH had no fever at all yesterday and seemed to feel better in the afternoon, but not so much by the time we went to bed. We'll see how he feels when he gets up.

The sun is supposed to come out for most of the day here which will be a nice break from the storms.

Leaving in a few minutes to do a grocery pickup and that's about it for the agenda today.

    Have a great day. 🙂

  3. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

A salute to the Army and Engineers. Paraprofessionals are important to teachers and students.

The quote is so true. I love tomato sandwiches. Thank you, Debbie, for the recipes/new ideas. I'll definitely be trying a few of those out. @dfish

Very happy to read that Terri's flight took off last night. Hopefully that is the biggest hiccup of her trip.  @Cruzin Terri

Well, what does DH do when he isn't feeling well? Look at cruises was the answer for yesterday afternoon. We ended up booking our first Celebrity cruise for October 8th. What a great deal...even our TA was in shock. We also looked at a few other cruises for 2023.

Unfortunately DH is sick with what seems like an upper respiratory infection. Covid test was negative which, we are grateful for, but will have done again if he is not better in a couple of days. Thank you for your prayers and to Roy, @rafinmd, for adding him to the list.

Like Bruno, @aliaschief, we are expecting more rain and thunderstorms today. Hopefully Ann, @marshhawk, will get out and back home before the storms begin. Sandi, @StLouisCruisers, how did your area fare yesterday? Stay safe all.

Wishing each of you a wonderful Wednesday.

  4. It's been pouring here with off and on loud thunder for almost 2 hours now. Praying we don't lose power and for all in the storm's path to stay safe.

@NextOne Edi, such great news about Jackie.

@StLouisCruisers Sandi, your pictures are lovely. Thank you for sharing.

@marshhawk Ann, I'm glad you are not going out today and glad you are getting the test done for yourself. Also happy to hear DH may be getting some pain relief which I know will help you as well in other ways.

@dfish Debbie, joining you in your happy dance.

@smitty34877 Terry, wonderful news about Tana feeling a bit better and that you both got some good sleep. Praying that continues.

@aliaschief and @Quartzsite Cruiser I, too, mentioned the need for better entertainment to HAL following our cruise in December on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Hopefully they are getting the message and will act upon the survey results.

@cunnorl Charlene, I hope your call to HAL was successful.

  5. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

A really good deep dish pizza is nice once in a while, but I do prefer the thinner crusts. Thanks to @grapau27 Graham for the explanation of go for broke day... very interesting. Who knew dandelions had so many benefits??? I knew they were edible, but didn't know the benefits of this weed that irritates so many.

Great quote by a special lady. I do enjoy white pizza, but usually top it with mushrooms, spinach and feta.

@msmayor it was great to hear from you. Praying for your daughter and your work situation. A salute to your boss for being one of the few...he seems like a good one. Congratulations on the arrival of Lana; enjoy every second.

@NextOne Edi, wishing you a very happy birthday. 🎂

DH did not play golf yesterday as he began to feel unwell. He is definitely sick with cold like symptoms. We will do a test later this morning.

So, not much going on here today.

Have a terrific Tuesday and remember you are loved.

  6. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

Maybe I'll take a walk around the golf course while DH plays later today. Librarians are very important yet seem to be a dying profession.

I agree with the quote, but do enjoy being able to watch the older shows such as Bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore. Love Debbie's idea/recipe for putting Pico de Gallo on fish.

@Cruzin Terri Terri, wishing you and DH safe and happy travels.

@smitty34877 Terry, adding DD and DSIL to prayer list.

It is a windy and cold, 47, start to our Monday. The sun is supposed to come out and warm things up all the way to 70 by late this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a marvelous Monday. Remember to take care of yourself and each other.

  7. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

DIY happens here every day and I'll be glad when it's done. I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches once in a while.  Children's books are so important and I still love reading them especially with my DGC.

The quote can be true at times. Love the meal, but it is carb heavy so I usually have a small portion as a side a couple times a year.

Sunny and windy here this morning.

Going to get another cup of coffee and continue reading.

    Have a spectacular Saturday.

  9. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I love watching manatees, they are such gentle, peaceful animals. Haven't had clams on the half shell, but would give them a try as I like oysters. Crayons can bring a lot of joy to all and also help educate the young.

I'll pass on the meal. Love the quote.

@StLouisCruisers Sandi, like Graham I keep my phone and laptop in eye ease and dark mode to lessen the strain on my eyes. I hope some of the tips here help and that your Primary Doctor can help even more.

@cunnorl Charlene, happy birthday to your DS.

@kazu Jacqui, drive safe and please be sure to take care of yourself.

@mamaofami Carol, I'm so glad you have a great aid finally. Praying for many stress free days for you and Sam.

It seems we got the predicted rain during the night instead of today. It is still pretty gloomy and cloudy with a wind warning is the prediction for the rest of the day. Grateful for the rain we got.

Not much on the agenda today. I'm working on relearning a piano piece that I use to have memorized. (Living without a piano for 5+ years along with age has impaired the skills somewhat.) That, working on the puzzle and knitting are my plans as of this moment. 🙂

Wishing each of you a happy day.

  10. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I won't be walking outside today. I appreciate Doctors especially the one I saw a week ago today. Today is the first day in two weeks that I feel in control of how I can move my body.

The meal sounds interesting. Love the quote.

It is a very dreary day here. It is supposed to reach 77 today but rain is expected.

We finally got home Saturday morning. To say the last five weeks were stressful would be a huge understatement. On top of that two weeks ago today my sciatica started acting up for the first time in years. Instead of getting better in three or four days it kept getting worse to the point I sat and slept in what was my DFILs lift chair the last five nights we were at DMIL's. (My brother was sure I should be in a hospital because he knows I have a very high tolerance for pain.) So, I broke down and went to an urgent care last Wednesday where they gave me a shot for pain and a prescription for a muscle relaxant. Last night was the first night I didn't have to take the muscle relaxant or anything else for pain and woke up feeling good. I am very thankful for the entire staff at the Care Spot in Winter Springs, FL. They were all just wonderful, empathetic, caring people.

I have been in so much pain that I have only been able to focus on the changes going on in our immediate family. So, I am way behind here, but have continued to pray for all of my Daily family.

The family changes are still in progress and going smoothly, but challenging at times.

Thanks to all of you for "listening" and for your prayers.

    Have a great day!

Interesting collection of days. Love the quote and the meal sounds great.

The plan right now is to drive home Thursday night. Of course this subject to change.

Praying things are looking up for our friends here... @StLouisCruisers, @kazu, @Cruzin Terri, @mamaofami, @marshhawk to name a few.

It's a beautiful sunny day with little wind here in my neck of the woods, Julia.  Are you and DH headed home to Jasper?  Or still taking care of business in Florida?

I've asked my DS and DB for news on Buddy and Jen.  The last I heard Thursday about Jen was they were searching for a skilled nursing facility to send Jen to from the hospital, but the answers from everywhere close by was no beds, not enough staff, etc.  They planned on searching further out from St. Louis.  Hoping for updates on Buddy's WBC numbers and pneumonia, as well as Jen's chances of finding a facility instead of going home unprepared and no care.

We are still here. I THINK we will head to Jasper mid to late week. We'll see what the next couple of days bring.

I hope they find the right place for Jen soon and that you get an update on Buddy. Praying for them both.

  13. Good afternoon, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

@grapau27 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Pauline. 🎊

This morning was cold enough even in Central Florida for people to wear ear muffs. A salute to K-9 veterans. I don't have a lot of jewels, but treasure the ones I have.

Great quote. Will pass on the meal.

DD and DGS came over yesterday. We had a nice afternoon with them. Leo provides lots of laughs.

    Not much going on today.

@Navybikermom Sorry to hear about the rowdy kids and irresponsible parents.

Extra prayers being said daily for

@kazu Jacqui, Jose, and Marley @StLouisCruisers Buddy and Jenn

    @mamaofami Carol and Sam

Kakalena and Tana. (CC decided not to allow me to tag anyone else. 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

At 54 I am still debating whether or not to deal with the court system in order to receive my adoption records. I was never a girl scout, but salute them. I've watched some Hitchcock movies, but not really into him.

Interesting quote. I will pass on the meal.

Happy birthday to Pauline, Mitzi and Lenda. 🎉

Not much on the agenda here today. We have a family situation we have been "working" on since we got down here last month which is why we are still here. Nothing bad, but definitely has and will continue to change our lives. Once we have figured things out and know for sure what we are doing I will share. Meanwhile, if you will pray things go smoothly and that His will be done, I would appreciate it.

Hoping to hear from @kazu today and that some progress has been made. Jacqui, I am thinking about you and praying for you.

Any updates on Kakalena or Tana?

Bon Voyage to those sailing away. Thank you @grapau27 and @aliaschief for sharing your cruise with us.

  16. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

A salute and big thank you to Johnny Appleseed. As most have already said I appreciate tools, but don't worship them. I am another who does not remember their dreams during sleep, but I often dream of the cruises I'd like to take during the day.

The meal sounds delicious. The quote is amusing.

@marshhawk Ann, I hope DH is getting some relief. Please do remember to take care of yourself.

@rafinmd Roy, thank you so much for including me on the prayer list. I feel a bit foolish for even mentioning the situation with so many of our friends here going through major illnesses and trials as well as what is happening to Ukraine.

Thanks to all of you for your support.

@StLouisCruisers Sandi, any weather updates for the weekend? I'm trying to follow on my weather app as much as possible. From what you have said and from what I can see this is not the weekend to travel home to NW Georgia.

  17. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I so enjoy spending parts of each day with all the awesome people here. A salute to the Salvation Army, I appreciate their services. I have a common middle name, Ann, which I use the initial or full name in all signatures. My Aunt's and Uncles have always called me by my first and middle names. Not sure how that got started.

I would like the meal and the quote is a good one.

@Heartgrove Jack, I am so sorry about your sister and brother. I am very happy you were able to visit with them and meet your grandson. I will be praying for the health of your siblings and that everyone meets again at your niece's wedding.

Well, the visit with new friends in Viera did not end so well. It's sad because I think we could have been good friends.

I have read the Daily off and on the past two or three days, but didn't post due to being stressed and even a little depressed about what was going on. It will take a few more days of processing for me, but I have blocked their numbers and am moving on.

Praying for everyone here, especially those in Ukraine and those in the path of storms.

  18. Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I only eat cereal once or twice a year nowadays. I do enjoy crown roast of pork and have been told I make a great one. Plants are very important for the environment as well as nutrition.

The meal sounds good. My Mom used to make them with mushrooms, onions and orange, red and yellow peppers. Love the quote.

We have an appointment at 9:00 to get our retired military IDs again. There was no way for us to know, but when we got them in November they had something incorrect. Then we are off to spend a couple of days with friends we met on our most recent cruise.

A good dentist is invaluable. Our freezer is usually well stocked with ice cream, (mostly for DH), vegetables, (mostly for me), and meats. My Mom and Grandma were also named Julia; each of us have a different middle name.

I love pot pies, but only eat them once in a great while and have never made one. Excellent quote.

Friday I woke up not feeling well and only felt worse as the day went on so I rested in hopes of feeling better and I knew I would have Leo most of yesterday. Thankfully I felt better when I woke up yesterday. I picked Leo up a little after 7:00, we stopped for coffee for me and a few munchkins for him then off to the park for almost 2 hours. Then to Publix for strawberries and a few other things before coming to my DMIL's. Lunch, playtime and reading/quiet time and parents got here at 2:00.

Relaxing this morning before going to lunch with DD and a friend who calls me Mom.

Good morning friends!  It was 45F this morning so we trekked over to the gym, did our weights and walked back.   Exercise DONE!  Today will be sunny and about 78F which is excellent news.  No doubt we'll be freezing again within days.

Thanks for pointing out the location of our ships Rich @richwmn.  Much appreciation to Roy @rafinmdfor the newly updated Care and Celebration lists.  I made sure to say my prayers this morning.  We are all so worried about Ukraine and hope things go their way very soon.  God bless them and those who are helping them.  Prayers also said for our Daily friends and family.  I got a lot of news on Jen last night.  The ENT doc says her eardrums are both healed so he isn't sure why she still can't hear on the left side.  No signs of infection there.  He will do hearing tests when she is discharged.  They can't figure out why she still has a low grade fever.  The hospital physician says they will do a CT scan of her back and hips to search for a source for her pain, but they are backed up in that area so not sure exactly when that will happen.  And the speech language pathologist was in because communication has gotten worse.  Jen is having difficulty processing other's speech as well as speaking.  I hope for better news each day.  Thanks for your prayers everyone.

What a great group to appreciate - caregivers!  Where would this world be without you?  I can't imagine what would go on if pets had thumbs.  I want you to be happy day is such a nice thought.  The Mother Teresa quote is very true.  I think I'll pass on the risotto.  The wine sounds good.  The port of Walvis Bay, Namibia was first posted on May 11.  We have not been there.  Looking forward to any pictures posted today.

@JAM37Julia, happy birthday to your twinsies!  When they were growing up did everyone call them "the twins"?  That's all we heard when my twin and I were growing up, especially from cousins and aunts and uncles which we had a lot of.

@msmayorConnie fingers crossed the baby decides it wants to come into the world soon.  It could happen momentarily you know.  I went to the doctor one Monday morning before my son was born.  Doctor said "I will be out of town until Thursday but I don't believe you're ready yet so no problem.  My partner will be here at any rate".  The next morning I was in the hospital delivering my baby boy.  And I found out I adored the partner OB-GYN so continued to see him for visits afterwards.  So see?  What do doctors know?😄

@kazuJacqui thanks for the memes today.  I might have to share one or two of them.  Good luck with your visit to Jose in the new unit.  And I'm sure he would want to thank you for being such a great caregiver to him. ❤️

Thank you. Yes, some still refer to them as the twins. My Mom referred to them as "the Babies" to the day she passed away and they were almost 15 years old at that time. We all laugh about that at times, but it is a very fond memory for my daughters and me.

(Sorry, I left the entire post, but it wouldn't allow me to delete any of it.)

Caregivers are so important and I wish they all received the support they deserve daily. I wish everyone happiness. If pets had thumbs, especially dogs, I can only imagine how much more mischief they would get into. 😁

Between a busy day yesterday and CC not being nice to me I was unable to post or like.
