  1. We saw 1 tux in May on Eurodam AK - Canaletto on dressy night. Young man, probably <30yo. He was accompanied by a woman in a very sleek gown who was wearing a wrist corsage. It was so cute. I say, although the norm is to be more casual, dress to the level that makes you comfortable (so long as it's not swimwear in dining venues) - it's your cruise, be happy!!
  2. Yes, all things excursion related do have to go through Shore Ex desk.
  3. The Jeep safari on Aruba was nice except for the cactus hairs I picked out of my skin for a week after. The wind was blowing non-stop (heads-up it's windy on Aruba) and I kept feeling little stingy ***** type sensations. Finally on one pit stop, I was able to see a cactus hair sticking out of a finger. Hands and arms were covered with them!! Guess I became the dart board for cactus hairs blowing in the wind. So random and not fun. But the Jeep ride was fabulous and the island was pretty. Brought back several local beers that I hauled home to DH.
  4. A "bit hard" to watch? You are so kind - it's brutal!! DH is die-hard Cardinals fan; I think he has an ulcer, lol.
  5. Are you saying you canceled them or Carnival canceled them? Mine still showing and payments still show pending. It will blow HARD if they decide to let us have 1 day of Cheers for the purchase as both of mine originate in NY where Cheers cannot be used on embarkation. Day 2 is a sea day so if it has to be only 1 day, that would be the day to have it. But I fully expect them to be canceled.
  6. Venezia does NOT have self serve laundry or irons 😢so you have to use their laundry bag service.
  7. We routinely have to get erroneous drinks removed from our statement; it's annoying, but happens w/such regularity we ask each other "where'd you sneak your toddy today?" In Feb on NA, the Pinnacle Bar hit us everyday, strange. Guest Services would send the obligatory email to F&B then the charges would be removed. I do wonder if whoever is supposed to be charged ever is. If not, that's a good chunk of lost revenue. I truly hope those are errors; I just can't see that many servers across so many ships risking their jobs by falsely charging drinks. They don't get the $$ amount of the drink, the ship does and the 18% tip is pooled, so their net $$ is very small. And I couldn't stomach it if HAL intentionally used phony charges as a revenue stream - ugh!! I've only gotten home 1 time to a charge I had to reach out to have removed. I check the statement daily (not obsessively) and get a final print out late on the last night so I know it's correct when we disembark. The credit I saw on CC a couple weeks later was less than I was expecting, so I looked at the statement in "previous bookings." There was a $49 charge for a robe. Nope, didn't make off w/a robe and didn't order one. One call and it was corrected and I was issued $49 CC credit a couple weeks later. I'd likely has pursued it if it hadn't been resolved in my favor as I knew I didn't have their robe, but glad I didn't have to as HAL did the right thing. I do hope OP is able to resolve.
  8. Right... maybe 122 is too much for him? 🫣
  9. Do you know that's the case or are you speculating? Just trying to figure out if my sister will have to play pac mule next month to have her Diet Coke.
  10. They are normally just in suites. We've never had them in any verandah and always had them in all suites. I've never had that kind of billing "error." @Geo1688Sounds like the steward thought he had put them in but did not. I hope it resolves soon in your favor.
  11. Respectfully, they're sent from the Casino Dept (no history of donating to casino required), flyer says "casino offers" and if you book one, they will tell you it's a casino rate. Flyer also says "free stateroom." The $100 is given back as OBC.
  12. James Taylor - thanks for that, I love that 🎵 🎶 Yes, sunny AK is stunning. I just wanted OP to realize there are things to do almost no matter the weather. In May, we were blessed with piercing blue skies, a bit of rain and clouds.
  13. So happy it all worked out. Not that he'll pay it, but please send skeazy ex a bill for the $364. It'll make me feel better, lol. Sounds like you've raised a fine young lady - congrats to her on being 7/115.
  14. No doubt. But the little interest $79 (or whatever the amount w/tip is) gets them means they need to hold onto a lot of peoples $$. Debt reduction 1 penny at a time... Glad I can do my part.
  15. Same as others - book as early as you find available flights at price you're willing to pay. But don't ask them to ticket unless you're really confident in the price. Then continue to check regularly (I find best rates on Sun & Tues) for reduced rates. We booked in June for a late Oct flight to Rome; never found a lower rate and today the flight is more than double. We were happy with the rate we had at final payment. We also booked in June for a late Nov flight to Rome and have found several lower so we rebooked. Last week (on Tues) we found the outbound flight non-stop for under $500pp. Quickly changed and asked them to ticket. Today that flight is over $1800pp. Oh, today is final payment due date. So, book early? Wait til final payment? Book after final payment? I don't know there's a best answer. Just keep looking even once you book to get a price you're comfortable with. You will have about 14 days after final payment to make changes w/out penalty. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  16. Brolly? Transplanted Texan, here - I know bulls but not brollies...
  17. Just remember southeast AK is in a temperate rain forest, in fact, one of the largest in the world, so yes you're likely to encounter rain. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r10/about-region/overview/?cid=fsbdev2_038671 So long as not a heavy downpour, don't let clouds keep you from going up on the tram in Juneau - the hiking trails at the top are very pretty. Ketchikan is one of our favorite ports to visit in the rain - we do an ATV ride that is better the wetter it is, even in full rain. The tour operator provides mud gear and helmet, you provide gloves. You're rewarded with a visit to a waterfall and maybe 👀 some 🐋 🐳 Enjoy God's country - safe travels!!
  18. Hey Tim - slight off topic, but the mention of your Grands, got me curious for an update. Did Jakob and his sister compare cruise notes once he got unpacked? Are his friends impressed by his Jr Ranger accomplishment?
  19. Hey @scooter6139 glad you enjoyed your cruise and will be back for another! Next time, since you'll be on the K'dam try Grand Dutch Cafe on deck 3. There are some delightful (code for yummy) food options: the ham & cheese panini-type sandwich (not actually called a panini), Dutch pea soup, creme filled chocolate covered flaky pastry ball Bossche Bol), tall thick sliced apple 🥧. All really good and make a great lunch or snack option. Also, since you like the Dive In burger, I recommend you try the burger at lunch in Pinnacle Grill. Yay for happy cruisers!! 20. That's going to be my new go-to for work - "oops, is that not the correct file? I'm sorry, I think it's likely just a website glitch." 🤔 "Oops, did I not add you to that Teams call? I think it's likely just a website glitch." 🤫 "Oopsie, did I not set an OOO? I think it's likely just a website glitch." 🫣 This could be fun 🙃
  21. Yes, you can use OBC prior to boarding. When you get ready to "check out" you'll get a notification that you have available OBC then caution you about using to avoid using some amount that another person in the cabin might want to save. Having the other people by gift cards as @Elaine5715 mentioned to give you is also a way for them to pay using their OBC.
  22. I have not received an email; sounds like nobody else has, either. I see the same as what @sid_9169 posted. And the charges show pending for my CC.
