  1. @Ed in OKC please report back after check in what really happens at the port. many others have asked very similar questions, and we never hear back … Just the panic that ensues prior to boarding or trying to board. It might be very helpful for somebody going forward. welcome to cruise critic & your 1st post.
  2. Yes. I’m answering for @Steelers36. Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, etc. are “Jewel “ Princess ships
  3. Yep, I definitely can check the port schedule, but I have no cruises scheduled to St. Thomas at the moment.. I was just trying to decipher and give a little bit of information to the author/ op that it’s very subjective ,so who knows which way the ships dock. definitely great information for those that want to check the port schedule.
  4. Also, in St. Thomas aren’t there two docks that Princess uses? I seem to remember being at both of them over the years and yes, I’m sure bow in or out is very subjective and changeable.
  5. Well 2 minibar, set ups is great in my opinion. One for the suite & one for Elite status? But wonder why it took them 3 days to get you the 2nd set up. I’m sure @CanadianBurger will let us know when they know. I’m enjoying following along.
  6. Usually,if both are Elite in the cabin, only 1 Elite set up per cabin. Should be if both are Elite in cabin 2 set ups. Definitely earned that perk. But Princess says 1 per cabin. way to go for @CanadianBurger- whatever the reason
  7. I should correct what I said above there is no longer a $35 ( total per cruise)stand alone coffee card/ package.. Although there is a $35 a day/night zero alcohol package that includes coffee. Of course + gratuity/ service charge of 18%.
  8. Sorry I must’ve missed it and by the way I’m enjoying reading along. Thanks for fabulous Live From.
  9. There is no longer the $35. Coffee card.
  10. This is from another poster that is live on the sun this week March 9. Perhaps the platinum and full suite passengers have their hors d’oeuvres located in another venue? So far I just see elite benefits. But maybe they’re just calling it the elite lounge and you may attend if you’re elite, platinum ,or full suite?? Maybe a platinum person/ passenger onboard The Sun will chime in. I would assume the full suites have their own concierge lounge. Someone was just asking where the platinum passengers go for lounge access in the evening.

  12. @Hillmom yes in San Pedro- port of LA. You may bring your own flowers onboard. I’ ve just carried them on and bought a plastic vase at the dollar store. As far as taking them off the ship, I don’t know why you would want to,( after 1 week to 2 week cruise they will be “ gone/dead”) ,but you may not.
  13. @Princess Chatterer here’s a current coffee menu ,maybe not the ship you’re going on, but it should be the same.
  14. I think author/ op is on The Ruby Princess
  15. I followed along on your last Live from… congrats on booking your suite offer.
  16. What are you insinuating or trying to stir up? I gave my opinion and experience, and it looks like most people are giving the same response. The op is looking for answers/opinions and you didn’t even answer them. You responded to mine instead, which is not helpful to the OP at all. Out of all the ports, I’ve left out of San Pedro often, and I also have family members that leave out of there often .amazing how quick to judge people are just because…..
  17. @Gardyloo2 San Pedro- world cruise terminal is fairly easy in my opinion. Did you get your green lane or blue lane boarding pass on web or app? Did you fill everything out yet? Still have to get in line to go through security. If you get to port before previous passengers are cleared, then yes there will be a wait/ line to board.
  18. No, you do not have to reserve dining on the app before you sail. I would say just wing it, especially since some nights you may eat in the dining room ,some nights you may eat in the buffet ,some nights you may eat at a casual place, etc. no reason to make reservations that you don’t even know what time you want to eat. Just show up when you’re ready for dinner and of course you may have to wait just like a land based restaurant .
  19. No ,because there are no longer coffee only cards or credits. Only drink packages are available to purchase.
  20. @shanna135 since you’ve probably already made your way to the ship, do let us know how it all went and or do a live from. I enjoy reading the live from posts.
  21. $39 (+ service charge) for Crown Grill & The Catch. The $39.00 price is correct. Service fee?-18% $35. for Sabatini’s. a few great Live from’s The Discovery Princess in February 2024.
  22. @20165 On the Enchanted Princess the concierge lounge is located on Riviera deck near the wedding chapel. As far as how much you want to tip them will depend on obviously the service you receive. As far as tipping and specialty restaurants, it’s a tip ,you can do what you wish or nothing at all. The reason why Princess and many other lines have not had tipping at the end of the cruise is because when there was no longer everyone in the traditional main dining room every night & specialty dining opened that’s how the tipping process went. Everything is added to your daily/ nightly charges, as far as tipping, or if you have the packages as I’m sure you already know. I think what you’re asking is primarily the suite concierge and the specialty dining. How much do people tip them. As far as what other people do ,doesn’t really matter in my opinion. If you think you receive good service at the specialty dining, then tip extra ,otherwise it’s included basically . I believe because everything is “ under “your medallion/cruise card. There is no longer a bill at the specialty dining restaurant for you to sign an extra for a tip ,so your tip would probably have to be in cash.??
  23. @drwbrt and @New2cruise2022. Great Live from with great information. I enjoyed following along.
