highly recommend the private tour we did one that was great - went to the wildlife conservation center up the gondola to aleyska ( could have a nice meal up there as well) plus other sites like glaciers and salmon runs. It would be at your pace and much more comfortable.

Do you have any AA status? If so you could use one of the lounges in DOH just not the QR lounges. And again regent misrepresenting business class air, I’m glad I used miles in our upcoming trip to South Africa or probably would have been given the same crap by regent air. That said there were alternatives priced less than the 6500 pp Rt air credit. I learned my lesson with regent air before. Hope the return flight works out better for you.

I have to agree - I just avoid those situations. No Caribbean cruises for me - I live there so no need and I have a nice deck overlooking the ocean. My adult kids keep trying to get me to go to WDW - Nope not gonna happen. I did have fun playing Karen in Santorini when people kept trying to cut in the gondola line. One group tried to just budge there way up saying they had tickets and even though they insisted and pretended not to speak English. I told them they are going to have to go through me. Finally, they got it when I said "No manches" But alas they were a few of many.

Regent doesn’t care. A simple solution would be to post the rules and put them in the cruise contract and the safety video. If somebody breaks them they get a warning, if they do it a second time they are removed from the ship. No removing valuables and clear cut consequences.

I haven't seen any classes posted for our early December Splendor cruise. How close in do they post the offerings? Seemed like my other cruises had them posted earlier. There isn't even a box for the culinary classes showing up in the manage my booking.

I like the point that regent handles your excess luggage and all the travel logistics. We are doing the Victoria falls and chobe on our post cruise Dec 24 and they handle all the small flights and send luggage to jburg. If you are staying in SA like Kruger it might be as simple as just booking flight to JNB and then off to Kruger. I would certainly look at other options besides regent for that. You have plenty of time to book the regent to hold it and then if you find a better option drop the regent pre post and go on own.

I liked the ph suites on splendor and explorer . I like the separation so if dw wants to go to bed early I can watch tv there and not disturb her same if I want to sleep in. We didn’t have any issues with storage space or closet space and the total space was very nice with larger balcony. Also ph is much nicer and roomier than a ph on voyager. It really depends what you value in a cabin.

we did the one at the Australia zoo and last year and the koala pooped but it was hard pellets that didn't stain. They just bounced off and actually smelled like eucalyptus. But she wasn't a little girl but a seasoned mom and grandma at time, so she just let it roll off her. they have several other encounters at the Australia zoo Animal Encounters at Australia Zoo - Get Up Close With Our Amazing Wildlife as an option. off topic if you make it to Bali the monkey forest and the the bali zoo are great for encounters. On the other side of the world if you get to Ireland the falconry program at Ashford Castle is awesome as you walk for an hour through the woods with the birds on your arm and they fly and come back looking for prey. I keep notes on my phone as I see someone do something well or Bad. I agree the internet is horrible to try and struggle with this and if you have a port day the last day or a port that blocks internet (e.g. Portland UK) it is a Challange and waste of my time. I would prefer to do it on the plane ride home or at home. It is a disservice to those employees who deserve recognition and Regent is the one that is preventing this feedback by utilizing such a cumbersome process.

Not even a question in my mind. If there is traffic (likely) or long queues (Likely) at security or any mishap you will be stressed. Which airline are you flying and do you have any status in their program ? might help decided what lounge to use. Also, lots of shopping at LHR as well. There really is no downside to the later flight other than getting home 3 hrs later so why stress and rush enjoy the flight.

On AA I usually watch for patterns 360 days out and will book 330 if it is a good award especially on partners. I have found if I book on AA at a high level the price will come down over the next 4-5 months and I tend to check daily. I was able to grab a DOH PHL DFW flight dec 30th 24 for 200K miles per person which is a bunch but it is holiday time so glad to grab anything. Now the whole couple of weeks is 300K pp but I suspect it will drop later or perhaps Qatar will add some award inventory. Goal is to fly from JNB to DFW but having to piece it together, but a stopover is welcome, so we are flexible. It is worth an extra night stayover somewhere if the award or fare is substantial. If fares are low enough we may just pay for the air around $2500-2900 one way on united or Qatar. tools like expert flyer, kayak flyertalk(which I'm sure you use) are very helpful in finding the best deals seats and routes.

I really don't know but it was poor form to not be away of holiday's where you cannot berth. Especially when people don't find out until they have boarded. How could regent not be aware of this?
