  1. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I'm fighting the battle too, with my left hip. I got a cortisone injection into that joint a couple of months back, and it's gone from agonizing to just sore all the time. Sore all the time, I can deal with. I'm thinking I'll do one more injection and then go for surgery. When I was getting the injection, I was gabbing with the guy who was assisting. He said he's had replacements in both knees and that worked out for him very well. He said I might or might not want to get the replacement done in the near future. I said that I was trying to balance not rushing into things with not putting it off until I get too old to recover completely (I'm 72). He said that was a very valid point and that he agreed it would be a mistake to put it off until then. Food for thought?
  2. I'm not going to argue that average cruise prices on Princess haven't increased, but I will say that we have two booked for 2024 at prices that, all things considered, are pretty much the same as last year and this year.
  3. Hard to say. Skagway is on our schedule for September of this year, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they sub in Icy Straight Point for it. That's what they did on our August sailing last year, and we really liked Icy Straight Point. I'd be happy to go back there again.
  4. If the update is installed and you dump the application cache, then I'm pretty sure the changes would show up.
  5. No, we've never not been able to go there. Glacier Bay is big, so I think ships can always manage it no matter what the ice situation is in the water.
  6. Not cool. I don't buy the packages, so I'm not up on these things. They don't make financial sense for us, and even less so with this additional information.
  7. I miss the little round custard or jam filled donuts. Last several cruises, we've seen ring donuts but not those little round ones.
  8. That is totally bizarre about the Diet Coke! It's one thing if they just don't have it, although they should. But another thing if they do have it but make you pay extra for it when you have the drink package. I'd fight that one until the cows come home. Ridiculous.
  9. That's me! Totally magical. 😃
  10. This is good advice. For some reason, my hubby's return airport didn't want to stick. Also, make sure you've added everybody to a credit card for payment. That's another one that didn't want to stick.
  11. My favorite one ever was a train/snow shoe hike we did in Skagway. We took the train partway up then got off, put on snow shoes and hiked up to a glacier overlook. It was warm, the snow was soft and melty, and I fell down about a gazillion times. Wouldn't and couldn't do that these days, but it was a real highlight of that trip.
  12. Can't be that, since we're all seeing the same thing and this thread started an hour ago. I'm also seeing a rectangle with an X filling the inside of it before the 035. Possible coding/debugging note that shouldn't be viewable to members?
  13. One of them was pretty much what I'd expected, based on the guarantee category. It was a cheap inside - actually a very cheap inside - for a spur-of-the-moment cruise. The other one was a surprise upgrade from an inside to an oceanview. We were very pleased with that.
  14. We've gotten a cabin assignment when we got to the ship. Twice!
  15. The luggage service, Port Valet, is available for flights between 12:00 and 4:00. So, the OP should be able to do that. I forgot about this.
  16. We have made a flight from Seattle that was somewhat earlier than that. But last August when we flew out of Seattle, the airport was a jam-packed madhouse. We were in the security line forever. Do you have TSA PRE or global entry? That would help a lot. After that experience, we got PRE. Haven't tried that out yet, but we're hoping it will help. As for your departure time from the ship, you should be able to get as early as possible. It may involve going to customer service and being very firm.
  17. Don't they do breakfast in the MDR on the Island? Was that why you were forced to go up to the buffet? I've never been on a Princess ship that didn't have breakfast in the MDR every day, but I've never been on the Island.
  18. Go to this page and choose Lido from the deck list. There are many photos of that cabin and the ones nearby. Yours would be like those. Caribbean Princess Deck Plans, Layouts, Pictures, Videos (cruisedeckplans.com)
  19. I forgot to mention wind. Yes, it can get windy on any of these forward-facing cabin balconies. I can usually work around that and find a place to sit out of the wind except for when it's really, really windy. We've never had the steward close off access to the balcony. This is another possible dealbreaker for some but not for us.
  20. The M6 minis on Marina and Lido are the front corners of those decks, so there are four of them. Both decks have larger than normal balconies, and the ones on Marina have huge balconies that extend out over the bridge. The floor plan of these is way above average, in our opinion. There's some separation between the living and sleeping areas so when my hubby gets up at way-too-early oclock, he has access to the living area, the bathroom, and the balcony without disturbing me. These are also club class, or to use the new term, reserve collection. We like that a lot. These cabins are convenient to the resources on Lido deck and the walking/jogging track up top. There's a big window in the sleeping area that makes for great star watching. Those are the merits. There are what some folks would consider to be downsides or deal breakers, but not us. Top of the ship, way forward you get any motion that's available. We like that. the balconies are steel fronted, rather than glass. We don't mind that. If it's foggy, you will definitely hear the foghorn. We tolerate that. These cabins are about as far away from the main dining rooms as you can get. We're fine with that. That's about it. I keep thinking I'm going to stop recommending these, since there are so few of them and I'm probably making them harder to get. But I find myself recommending them anyway.
  21. If I were shopping for myself, I'd give the nod to the Enchanted since it has our favorite cabin type, the M6 minis on Marina.
  22. In my opinion, that's a good cabin. Cabins above and below, so less noisy . Larger than standard balcony. I wouldn't book it for us, since hubby doesn't like aft but I do think it's a good cabin.
  23. They might actually be able to sell me an ice cream package!
  24. I can tell you that this is easily doable if you're on a desktop computer. Not sure at all what it would look like on mobile. Log into your account. From your list of 1 to X number of upcoming cruises, choose the one you want to work with by clicking the big, green button. Choose Travel from the top options bar. Choose to manage flights. You'll see a page showing what you have. Look over to the right and find the seat selection link. Click that. You'll get a seat map where you can choose seats. Make your choices and save them. The darn Princess site is erroring out on me again, so this isn't exactly what each step says, but it should get you there.
  25. I haven't noticed this. The closest I can come to it is the fact that I've noticed on more than one cruise all the fruit flavored yogurt except for peach was gone. I guess people on those sailings didn't like peach yogurt.
